Sigh. Still in wait and see mode.
The sewing group "planning meeting" went ok in that everyone was on best behavior, playing nice with everyone else. The topic was brainstorming ways to get publicity for our group and recruit new members. Everyone around the table participated and suggested ideas.
The member list issue is not resolved. That was the 1 hiccup at the meeting. The secretary tried to ask a question that would bring up the topic in a non-confrontational way, but the president ignored her by asking the person next to her a question, and suddenly there were 3 conversations going at once. If I had tried to get back to the secretary's question, I would have had to yell over everyone else, which I would not do because we were meeting in a restaurant. (Very bad room for a meeting, very noisy.)
The next official board meeting is a week from Saturday. No, wait, it's a week from Friday -- making us give up sewing time at the day camp because Prez & VP scheduled a class during our normal meeting time. I'm waiting to hear from the secretary whether she wants to request that the member list topic be put on the agenda herself, or if she wants me to do it.
The secretary drove 2 other people to tonight's meeting. I'm guess that she may have given them an earful on the way home.
Oh and we did lose the 1st volunteer tonight. The membership chairperson will finish out this calendar year, but will not stay on for next year. She told the board tonight that it was because she and her husband want to do more traveling next year, but she had told me a week or so ago that she is very unhappy with how things have gone this year with this new president.
Harriet ~ Yes, you are correct in remembering that I am past president. Also past membership chair a couple different times, past newsletter person who printed the address labels for years ... but this year suddenly I am not allowed to see the member list.
