Do over Wednesday

Post by helia »

I know it's not alliteration, but this is what I need and hope to do today.

So far, so good. My bag arrived last night. I stayed up for a call from the driver, and then went to bed and left the tag and receipt on the door. It arrived the wee hours of the morning (they said it would arrive around 3 a.m.) and sat on my porch until proper morning. I suspected something like this would happen last night but didn't want to post that here.

No bodily fluids have been deposited on the floor this morning! I took both dd16 and GG to school. I have s2s-ed and had my first cuppa tea. I'm off to a better start today.

It is gray out. I hope the window washers will come. I'm not ready for them yet, so I'm going to move plants that are in front of the living room windows. Public spaces are the priority.

Later today:
- pick up GG at 2:30
- go to graduation locale at 4 for photos; I learned with ds that you can only take photos of the students in caps and gowns before the ceremony - though, now that I'm thinking about it, there haven't been warnings to that effect this year and there were ds' year. Do I risk taking photos afterward??
- graduation is 6 - 8.

. . . This sat here while I took a call from dh who is boarding the plane to come home. He'll go straight to his office once here.

I called the window washers. It sounds like they are iffy about today - it is supposed to start raining late morning, which is why I thought they might be here already. . . No, he said he was going to be calling me soon to find out if I still wanted my windows done. It is almost 9 a.m. and they have a bit of a commute from their town. I really thought they would have started bright and early. As dh says, they're clearly not too hungry. Glad I called. In the same vein, dh still hasn't heard back from brick guy so will give them a call.

OK, off to move plants, tidy kitchen, start laundry, etc. . .

Hope your windows get washed, Helia. The guy who did our RV last weekend is coming back to do the windows over this weekend. They look great to me, but he wasn't happy with the product they used and will be coming back to "do over" that part of the job. Still waiting on the RV guy to come by to take a look underneath. He is bringing something (that I didn't understand just what it was -DH said something about some 'fabric'?). Keeping fingers crossed that there's not much damage under the RV itself. Dh doesn't think the water got up to the insulation and that will be a very good thing!

Helia I had started a post and will keep that title for another week. Here's that post deleted and pasted here:

For me, I hope it's finishing up the front cabinet area in our RV. I've been taking things out from behind those 6 cabinet doors. In the process I came across "but first" things. So, ended up cleaning out the corner cabinet (toward our living area -under the kitchen counter). Now have all 3 of my slow cookers (different sizes) residing there. Finally I have them in a place that I can retrieve them. Have nothing on the bottom shelf -yet. In the cupboard where I had them -which has no shelves, I put all my computer type bags. Easy also to retrieve them -may not be kitchen but now they're accessible and out of my closet. Good thing as I had to gather LOTS of VHS Gaither tapes belonging to Dh. They've been in dd's MH and since she had them all opposite the door, I'm thinking she'd like them out of there. So now THEY'RE in my closet. At least until I decide how to rid ourselves of all these -there has to be at least 50. We do still have a VHS player, but dh watches all the Gaither videos on the Gaither channel -so do we need them taking up room? Will see about trying to sell them on Ebay.

Well, that was a rambling paragraph.

Have no idea where dh is. He started walking toward the store with his coffee over 1 1/2 hours ago. I doubt that he's working. And as a matter of fact I have no idea what his status is there. I do know he had a conversation with campowner/boss yesterday afternoon. He'd forgotten I had to get DSGD14 to take her to the orthodontist. Called to see where he was and he said, "I'm sitting here having a nice conversation with J". I only know I was completely downtrodden yesterday =about the worst I've been in a very long time. (drove the golf cart up & switched for the car). But later in the day suddenly I had a peace. Dh and I had an 'attitude' between us that we just never have & it was hard for me. All was good by night though. Unusual day for us. But in the meantime he's said nothing of his status with the campground. :?

Taking my time here this morning. Dh slept in the recliner again last night to help keep the swelling down. Had to buy salt yesterday so he can rinse 4 times a day. He's also taking an antibiotic for a while.

Think I'll get the laundry sorted today & take it all to town tomorrow. Still not very 'sold' on our new laundry twins. Takes 43 minutes to wash a load at $1.75 (know it was cheaper last year) and the dryers only go for 44 minutes at $1.00 and clothes aren't quite dry. :| So it's either bring them home and hang them out (on clothes bars) or put in another $1.00. Last year it was $.50 and you could keep adding a Quarter to bring it up another 10 minutes or so. Think a load dried for 60 minutes.

I was awake late (I got started looking at the new Stampin' catalogue) and then didn't sleep well. Was up at 7. I'm trying to track my time today to figure out where my time goes. So far I read the paper and took ds to work, then made my breakfast and I've been here at the computer 35 min already while eating breakfast and reading blogs.

Lots OMM today:
-errand run
---groceries
---pet store for dog food
---Lowes, azalea fertilizer and something to stake tomatoes
---drugstore for ds
---what else?
-see dmom, refill meds, deliver food et al
-pick up ds at work @4:15
-WW 5:15 - weigh in and stay for meeting
-home to meet dh (after he and ds pick up car)
-dinner out with dfriends at nice restaurant

In between.....
-routines
-phone call re: sprinkler backflow inspection
-phone call re: dmom home health care
-email attorney re: dsis' home
-check dmom's bank account and credit card online to be sure things are okay there

Best bet is to do errands this morning then go to dmom's this afternoon before I pick up ds.

Next:
-s2s
-walk ddogs
-clear kitchen counters
-start lol
-review grocery list

Dh was here, looking for an invoice that he left on the front seat of the car yesterday. When I switched for the golf cart, I put it on the seat of the cart UNDER his keys so it wouldn't blow away. Evidently he picked up the keys and was oblivious to the invoice because it's gone. Sure he's not happy. Still not sure if he's working today or not -he hasn't said. Though he did come with his co-worker looking for the invoice. ;) A few days and we won't know the difference, right?

I still have one more cupboard door to clean behind in the front console. Think I've been avoiding it. Although part has to stay right where it is -modem/router, etc. Did get the little fireplace moved yesterday & like it on the other side of the room much better. (It's in front of 2 of the doors so tried to put like things in there that I wouldn't necessarily need too often). We had our old neighbor make a coffee table with a hinged top (so it will rise for computers, etc) from some black walnut we had given him. I really don't like having it in here as it's really too big, but don't know what to do with it. And of course, dh doesn't want me to do anything with it, but leave it where it is. Keep trying to figure how we could use it in FL -though I was waiting for that decision for gd to be grown and gone. Guess decision will wait.

Good morning, villagers ~
I did my minimum daily chores before turning on the computer. I'm waiting on the dryer now, answering Emails in the meantime.

I get to stay home today. :D
If I am in the mood to leave the house this afternoon, I have a deposit to take to the library's bank. No pressure, though, it can wait until tomorrow if I don't feel like putting on makeup and fixing my hair to go out later.

I will be working the book sale at the library tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday. That's why I am not so eager to go anywhere today. Add last night's sewing group meeting, makes it a very social week. By Sunday I may not want to see anyone but my mommy. ;)

Phone call from dh checking calendar (which he could do online.) He's also going to p/u ds today so I'm rearranging my plans to go on to dmom's now, then do errands this afternoon. Will give me a little extra time for errands and maybe a walk through Tar-jay, since I also need printer cartridges. :!:

Will fold a lol, move over what's in the washer and head out to dmom's then. Oh, and do attorney email and ck dmom's bank account.

Just sorted through (and threw out!) a large pile of 3x5's. They have just been sitting in a really cute L ongaberger basket forever and I finally realized I really don't use them -but almost entirely depend on my l&&ts on the computer. I did however save out the dated/month index cards. They'll fit in a smaller space if I ever decide to use them for anything. Meantime I'll find a better use for that basket. (All in the frame of mind -don't want my kids to do it down the road). Since dd already has a pretty good collection of L berger baskets, I'm sure she'll treasure this one. I'll tell her it's hers this summer.

I've sorted the laundry and gotten rid of a divided basket that was just plain "yucky". Now to decide when/where to do laundry. If in town, I'll do it all tomorrow as I have to go to town to get gas and will get mail. (gas is 5-cents cheaper on Thursdays). Now to remember where I put my container of quarters???? May still be in the car as I don't remember bringing them inside. I've also sorted out some magazines -have a hard time getting rid of mine that are "organize". :? But have 1 that was landscaping that I'll take to DS-A for his business repertoire. One is "decks" -think I'll take that up to the library to bless someone else in the park. I have a few coffee table books on "911" that I may pack away for FL. Not sure what to do with those otherwise.

Made a new batch of hummingbird food. For some reason they've stopped coming. Even put in a new batch of food from the fridge the other day. Made this one a little more concentrated. So we'll see. Have it cooling now so will have dh get the feeders down when he comes for lunch.

I'm getting all the living area windows washed right now, so that is nice! This guy takes out the screens and storm windows, washes them, and washes all windows, inside and out.

Meanwhile, I have unpacked my suitcase and put everything away, decluttered a couple tops to make way for some new ones I just got in the mail (ordered before I left), taken a panicked dd18 to her graduation rehearsal for which she checked the time online just as it was starting, gathered and sorted laundry, started a lol, emptied girls bathroom trash, wiped down that trashcan, put out hot spot on MBR cedar chest, improved kitchen island hot spot, started folding a load of sheets.

Next:
- finish folding sheets
- make MBR bed
- put suitcase away

Later:
- pay window washer guy
- maybe pick up dd18 at noon?
- go buy tri-folds and fun paper for the party
- wipe down all stainless steel kitchen appliances, which would be all of them
- pick up GG at 2:30
- start crockpot
- change clothes
- go to graduation site at 4:30

Do over on my attitude toward 'things' here at our abode: Dh just told me (so I guess he's going to continue working at least for now) that he's getting a pay increase (he's had none for the past several years) but he's not sure when. Also told me that the new shower room/laundry room will be for this side of the campground ONLY with keys for both sets of doors. So we'll see about all things.

Playground "people" are supposed to be here this morning to install a very large new playground. They've been putting in the foundation for the last week or so. They have dug down nearly a foot and the circle is about 20' or more in diameter (I'm only guessing & am very poor at dimensions!) Dh was going to paint the jungle gym that was there and I told him "NO" -he wasn't at Boulder Hall when they announced the new playground. Hmmm....I knew something that he didn't!

I've been puttering away at the front cupboards and that counter. Got rid of a lot or have it packed to go to FL. Suddenly I think it's all done. That feels good.

Dh also mentioned when I said I thought db/dsil would be coming in about 3 weeks -that, "Oh, they're only coming for a day. She doesn't even want to go to Utica at this point". So I'm not sure but what that may mean they will be here earlier. They had planned to be gone from FL for about 3 weeks. Guess her back is really bothering her. I'm not surprised really. She obviously has osteoporosis pretty badly -her upper back is quite bent over whether she realizes it or not. I'm really surprised that she doesn't have more problems with all the smoking she does -and perhaps she does. At any rate, it will be much more relaxing to me to only have them here for about 1 night or possibly 2.

Today is much better than yesterday! Getting back to the Dee I know. :)
