The restrictions are something both parents and a$$ w. teach came up with. Dgson was not where he was suppised to be at a bball game school reward for being
lunch & crossing guard helper. So the parents are having
Dgson work with them on the fun dsys. Imo school is tired if dealing with it. today it is mighty windy a track n field day does not seem so much fun w that factored in. There are some power struggle issues coming up. Dgson got the rewared for best behaved at a church camp retreat last mo. Makes one wonder.
I have issues with this. Some of this weeks assg. Are just bogus bzy wk dgson sees this.

Bc he did not pay attn. He did not finish wk. And most of the lunch recess times were inside at a desk, imo counter productive for dgson having any chance at having a positive exp. At school, he is the square peg not fitting in to the round hole btdt!

I did some yd. Wk. went on a prayer walk to get rid of neg. Energy looks like I am needing more lol!

Well the dishes are done and my hair is shampooed. After dh comes for lunch I think I'll put one load of laundry in the washer, run to town & get back (probably a little after it finishes) and put it in the dryer and hope for the best. Here's dh now for lunch -later.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Hello, villagers ~
I've been messing around with Emails, financial reports, and other meeting preparations all morning.
Now I need to put on some makeup and shoes to run a few errands.
Must stop at the library's bank and do a stock-up visit to Sam's. I'll fix a late lunch after I get home, or get take-out from somewhere if the traffic cooperates.

Late afternoon I will walk to the library so I don't have to take a parking spot.
The next 3 days are Tiny Town festival with a few carnival rides, which they put on the street in front of the library. That means they blocked off both of the streets next of the library corner starting yesterday, taking all of our parking spots except a few in an alley which the staff need. (The rides and booths are in front of the library, and the carnival workers park their campers on the side street.) That will last until Sunday morning, when the carnival will roll on to their next destination.

(The library is closed for normal business during these days. Some years the staff take inventory of all the books. This year they are installing and learning to use a new database program for checking items in and out, and doing some cleaning tasks that can't be done when patrons are in the building.)

We have found that scheduling the annual book sale around the carnival is the best timing for us to get walk-in traffic. Library regulars associate the 2 dates together. We do the first day of the sale before the streets are blocked off, so those customers can park close. Last year we added 2 evenings as an experiment to see if anyone would come in, and there were enough customers then for us to try it again this year.

That will be tonight and tomorrow night from 4-8p.m. Our regular board meeting will be tonight also at 6:30, so we have a volunteer coming in to watch the cash box while we're meeting.

Then Saturday, since the parking spaces will still be blocked, is when we are open 9am-3pm and drop the prices to $5 for all they want to carry out. We know it's a pain because they can't park close, but people are willing to haul boxes for such a good deal.

Must organize my papers when I get back from errands. I'm going to need a shower after rushing around, too, and I want to get to the library by 3 to set up for the sale and meeting. I'd better get off the computer! See y'all later.

Kathryn, I'm cheering you on as you pack up & move to your new home. You have done so much over the last few weeks 8-) .

Congrats to your dd on her graduation & humanitarian award, Helia!

Your dd34 comments made me smile, Harriet. Hope the little one decides to be born soon :-)

Some small Ta Das so far today -- handled an overdue phone call, remembered to water new shrubs first thing this morning, & dinner is planned. I've been working a lot in both the attic & basement the past few weeks. More about that in the decluttering thread when I get a chance. Kept meaning to post my progress there as it happened but the days flew by & if I peeked in at night I only felt like cuop.

Just got interupted by dcat. Once in a while he wants to be picked up while I'm sitting in a chair. He gets up on his hind legs & taps my arm until I reach down to lift him. He is an instant stress reliever even when I'm not stressed ;) . He loves to purr & knead my shoulder while I sweet talk & cuddle him. Note to self -- add "brush the cat" to my To Do list for today! He left a lot of hair behind when I put him down.

Speaking of a To Do list, I need to consolidate several small ones. For most of May I would jot down important things I didn't want to forget but not really follow a list for the day. Lots has been done but not crossed off yet. Today I want to start fresh with an On My Mind List & then add any leftover To Dos that have been written down recently but not done yet.

But first, back to the attic to take advantage of the cool temps today. Shouldn't need more than an hour to finish up there.

Waving ~~~~~ to everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Good morning! I am actually starting the computer early (for me). Turns out I had written the webinar date on my calendar wrong. It is next week. Of course, art class is cancelled anyway, because I had emailed the teacher that I would not be there (and presumably others did the same). Kitten care is done, her eye does not look very good to me. I will be checking in on her frequently. LOL is washing.

My essentials today:
file unemployment
job search (at least two resumes to somewhere)
study
gastroenterologist

Bad Elizabeth Update:
A few days ago, in a 'skippable rant', I mentioned how my x in-laws had been so rude to me. Well, the X emailed me and said that it was because his mom "didn't walk much anymore". Now, my parents keep in touch with his, and I happen to know that there is nothing serious going on. Also, she is having 7 cousins stay at her house for a week of Camp Grandma. Not something she would do if she were not capable of getting out of a car and walking across a rather small parking lot. Sooooo, I am going to reply to his email, expressing how SORRY I am that his mom is doing so poorly, inquire about the prognosis and what dd has been told, and mention that I am very glad that all the cousins are old enough to understand that this will probably be the last Camp Grandma. And so, he is backed into a corner, forced to either admit appalling rudeness, or attempt to carry out a lie that will be exposed as soon as DD12 returns from camp and tells me all their activities. I am SO grateful to have been raised in the Deep South, where I learned how to be thoroughly nasty while being exquisitely polite! I should be ashamed of myself, but I'm not.

Morning ya'll...

I'm in a rush, but wanted to congratulate all the graduating seniors and their parents. Big event in one's life.

As I was working on my office, Sweetie walked in,,,his comment to me...Looks like a bomb went off in here
Told ya I was making a mess

Need to redistribute some of this paper work and find proper homes for them. My office chair is heading for the garbage, it doesn't even rate a trip to good will. It hurt my hinnie so bad I went looking for my card table chair and that is what I am using at the moment. Still not very comfortable, but at least I am not sitting on a sever TILT...

Yesterday I got side-tracked as I was working on my office...it was for a very good cause I might add. My long-lost cousin called me and we talked for several hours. We are third cousins. Her g-g grandfather and my g-g grandfather were brothers. This is the family that my mother spent all of her time with. Since my mother knows all these stories about my cousin's family, I encouraged my cousin to call and talk to my mom. My mom now lives in central NJ and my cousin in southern part of the state.

We are now planning a family reunion when I go home. My cousin has just started researching our family history, I have been working on it for over 10 years and she is as into it as I am. We are only two years apart and talked as if we had been friends for years. Sort of sad to think we lived so close to each other growing up. However we didn't know about the other. Better late than never.

Off to make some sense of this mess....then its off to start my genealogy classes. I am looking forwards to that.

Cya'll later....Make it a great day

Home from the funeral.

Yesterday was a blur things that needed to be done. Dh said he was glad I was tracking my time, then I gave him a task by task review of all I had done yesterday! Whew. At dmom's I found that her evening meds had gone missing while I was away. Altho dbro said he could handle filling up her meds box, apparently he didn't remember that an evening box of meds needed to be filled. (Despite having a list of her meds on the kitchen table and a baggie clearly marked as "evening.") So dmom went into meds and now both her evening meds in the baggie, and the meds she doesn't take anymore (in another baggie) went missing - I'm not clear on when they were first missed because no one remembers, but dbro took out trash on Sunday evening for Monday pickup so they may have gone out. So I had to go to the pharmacy, they called doc and insurance co - and I called doc as well to explain what happened - and by last night dbro was able to pick up a 30 day supply of the three meds. Oy. Dh told me to tell dmom this was strike 1 - that she she gets to three she needs to go to nursing home. I just wonder how long she's going to be able to stay there....

Also yesterday set up appt with attorney regarding dsis and also effect on dsis if dmom passes away owning property.

Also trips to Tar-jay, L owes, Pet smart, gassed car up and got a megaload of groceries. Finally home around 4:30, then back out to weigh in at WW, and then out again for dinner.

So I know where yesterday went.

I have an hour and 15 minutes before I need to be at pedicure.
-healthy lunch
-try to get online to ck mothers credit card
-walk poor patient ddogs
-clear away 10 pieces of paper
-DPC about temple biz - something I haven't done :?

Just the calm before the storm here, LOL... the "storm" that is Hurricane DGS, LOL...
He should arrive around 1:30.
The plan is to get my walking in when he arrives, while ds runs. Then ds is off to teach a banjo lesson... then he & dh are off to music thing 2 hours away. I had first planned to go and then I thought, nah... that's crazy. It's a fairly long show, and ds will only do probably one solo (he's helping out another friend, playing back-up for him)... and that's just crazy. I'll spend all my time just pushing dgs around in a stroller, get home late, and then have to get up and go to the dentist tomorrow.
So... after I get s2s -- and hopefully dgs will be happy to play in the playpen for that length of time -- THEN... we have lots of errands:
* drug store if doctor called in rx home health nurse requested for dmil...
* dbil's office (IF we have pick up @ drug store... dbil needs to write us a check for over $275 at the moment)
* dsgm's to pick up quilt and drop off pants and sweater I decided to let her repair.

I also need to call dcousin in the hospital and check on her...
and call dmom and ask if she wants to accompany me to dentist tomorrow. I sorta hate to do that... ... but I know I should. Dmom has lots of errands in dentist-town that I could help with, plus, we could go by and see dcousin.

Just rambling disconnected thoughts as I cuop...

WTG, helia's dd!!! A humanitarian award out of 375 students is REALLY something to be proud of.
:) at the decorated mortar boards. In our little high school of probably 100 grads, our senior sponsors would have a FIT if anyone tried to decorate their mortar boards! We have always been very very strict about dress code, etc. at graduation. Last year I taught, a girl showed up in black Converse tennis shoes -- girls are restricted to white or nude-colored shoes -- and it was quite a big fuss. I've seen college grads w/the decorated mortar boards though.

(((Nancy))) I already know it is going to be sooo hard for me when dgs gets older and I sense ddil/ds being stricter than I think they should be. Tough situations...

* I have a note on my computer now, w/the AT&T Connectech #, which reads: "BUT FIRST, unplug router, log out, restart/reboot!"

So sweet for Harriet's dd to help w/special ed prom. Another thing about being such a small school, our special ed students take part in regular school prom, and (also my last year) the prom king and queen (elected by the seniors) were both special ed students. I was really proud of our seniors.

Love Harriet's dd34's sense of humor... I know this waiting time is driving everyone crazy, but I'm glad you're doing it. DH is convinced inducing labor was rushing dgs. Hmmm... wonder if that has anything to do with him taking so long to start walking and now to start talking? Hmmmm...

So sorry to hear about the missing boots, OKay!!! Did you call the GW store? Surely they will turn up somewhere soon! So sweet of LO to search for princess kite for his little sister!

I think Hawaii sounds like a wonderful rx for Mr. & Mrs. Helia, after all the excitement and busy-ness of the last few weeks!!!

Ooohhh, Elizabeth! You go, girl!!! I cannot wait to hear the X's reply to THAT!!! Of course, it will probably turn out that the "prognosis" was overly pessimistic and Camp Grandma will proceed as usual w/miraculous recovery and "those doctors don't know what they're talking about anyway..." BUT -- ooohhh -- at least HE will know YOU know! Good for you!!! :D :D :D

Waving to ALL!!!
Tomorrow is another day.

I've got 4 boxes part packed.

Progress has been made but I need to keep going and not stop with overwhelmedness. (New word I just made up!)

I've finished all the Mr. Selfridge episodes on Netflix so need to find a new tv show to watch while I work. I also need a nap but want to finish a bit more before taking one.

I got myself together and dashed out, remembering dstepdil's grandfather's funeral. Embarrassed I almost forgot. Just black separates and grabbing a necklace. But a miss is as good as a mile and she, dstepson and her mother were all so glad to see me. Her father waved at me from his place with the pall bearers. Her grandparents had attended church with my late dh and I, before their move to a retirement area, so I was able to leave a knowledgeable and very positive remark in the funeral home's online book.
