I have a DPC to make to BC/BS on behalf of dShelley. I was just saying the other day we finally hadn't had anything come to our mailbox for her in at least a year. Wrong -had a letter from them on Saturday. I, for some reason, decided to open this one. It's in regards to an uncashed check. :o So now I've called only to get a recorded message -now to wait for them to call me back. We'll see if I get anywhere with them and if the check is an amount that it's even worth worrying about. Could be. It would be nice for dgks if it was. At least I've made the preliminary call.

DS-R just stopped by -he's on his way to do some trimming at his RV. They go to Philadelphia for FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) tournament on Saturday. I thought it was Pittsburg -well it was on of the "P's". They want us to watch their 2 dogs this weekend. It's the first time they've ever asked us since they've had 2 -a long time. Think we're going to but dh will sleep over there.

I'd best get movin' here. Have the water heater on so I can do dishes. Think I'll do a 3-minute round robin while I wait for that to finish heating.

Agreeing with Twins -good news all round for Okay. Nice to hear good reports.

Lilac - I'm thrilled to see you posting again. (((Hugs))) I missed you!

CathyS - Thank you for the kind words! Those FB pictures were taken at LO friend bday party. I knew someone was taking pictures but I thought it was of the birthday boy and friends. I was surprised to see a picture of me. :)

DH took LO with him for a couple of hours this morning. As DH walked out the door he said "Do something fun! Don't work all the time we are gone" Hum.......what to do???

Good morning! I don't think I've been here since Friday. So much has happened!

I can't believe Kathryn and Ken are finnaly moving in!! SO excited for you! :)

That is sad about the fire, Cathy..

That is great news about the rain, OK. With some of my extended family farming in SW Kansas (and my dmom still owning some farmland there though she lives in IL), I'm aware of the drought and I think KS is getting some rain too?

I hope the move for gd is smooth and a helpful experience for all, Dee.

In a nutshell, the party Saturday was a huge success! We received many positive comments about it. Apparently, the food was very much enjoyed - the sushi/Cali rolls were a hug hit, maybe a bit unusual. We had cans of Izzes to drink, and apparently several guests had never had an Izze before - but really liked them. The older brother of one of dd18's friends brought these foam swords and other weapons, and many of the kids (and some of the adults) had a blast fighting each other in our back yard. I made a mental note to invite this guy to all other future parties. And dd18 made several coloring pages from some of her favorite movies, and I think they were well enjoyed by the kids and the older kids (LOL!) alike. There were coloring pages and crayons/pencils on all the tables. Weather was gorgeous. Dd18's art display was appreciated, as was the quiz board. I suppose the photo board was also appreciated. Dfriend E guesstimated that between 4:30 and 8:30, there were constantly about 45-50 people at our house. There was a steady stream of people coming and going, so I don't know how many people total came - but it was a lot. Some did stay for a few hours, which was really nice. We could have used another table, actually. The mosquitoes came out in the evening, which was a bit unpleasant - and something I hadn't thought about. But maybe they also encouraged people to go home; the party officially ended at 8 pm but people hung around until 9:30. Dd18 had 4 friends sleep over, and they helped with clean up. It took us all maybe 30 minutes to get the yard and patio and house back to pre-party state. I was so impressed by their help!

The pace of life here will now be slowing down a little but is still pretty high as I will be: (1) prepping for houseguests tonight (after saying good bye to last houseguest yesterday) and (2) prepping for trip to hawaii. I have a couple errands/meetings each day this week. GG and dd16 have final exams this week, starting tomorrow.

---OK, this sat here for about 45 minutes while I chatted w/ dh who just left to catch his flight to Hawaii.

Done so far today:
- s2s
- drove girls to school
- helped a parent get situated in the band uniform room. She is working on the marching band uniforms that have come back from the cleaners and now need to be tagged and put away.
- folded a load of dh's clothes
- chatted with dh as he packed for his trip and then did his stretching exercises

Next: finish the a.m routine!

Later, today, I need to:
- go to the groc. store
- start crockpot with white chicken chili
- make cornbread
- spiff the house a little; all the cleaning for the party is helpful, but the l. room carpet is covered in dog hair again. As usual.
- prep the guest room for dfriend + her mom
- pick up the girls at 2:30
- trip to the library?
- order oboe reeds for dd16
- Hebrew class at 5 pm. I will go w/out having done the translation.
- somehow, prep for tutoring, which starts up again tomorrow morning.
- I think dfriend will be arriving right when I'm at Hebrew class. She knows I have the class.

Morning ya'll...

Wishing Kathryn good luck with her move today...
and
Laughing at Lilac's comment about her nephew signing his full signature with his thank you not. My son has signed his full name, first, middle initial, last name, to every card be it Mother's Day, Xmas or cards attached to presents, flowers or candy with his full name to every and any card he had ever given to me since he was 5 years old. I used to tease him about it, reminding him that I only had one child and I indeed knew who he was.

Not long ago he shared with me a very personal letter he was sending to his soon to be ex-gf. He wanted my advise about what he had said. He had written a very beautiful, loving and kind letter and, you guessed it, and signed it with his full signature. When I made a comment about his signature saying it sound like he was ending it like a business letter....I mean after 2.5 years I'm sure she KNEW who he was...he responded with ...You know that's how I sign all my stuff.

I've been awake since 4 and finally got up a little after 5. I made my coffee and went outside to tend to my sunflowers, which are beginning to fade away. Sent a quick message to my brother, who is my master gardener, asking for advice..He surprised me with a phone call. Willis and I spent some time enjoying the early morning and watching the little birds..30+ feed on my small sunflowers. Then I came in a finished up my morning routine.

Today is my house blessing day so next up is vacuuming and mopping the floors. Once that is done I'm coming back to my office where my focus for the week is. Today I want to go through my two desk drawers and then work on one side of my closet. I have my dinner already planned so that is taken care of...

Time to turn up the music and get started.... hope ya'll are having a great day... cya'll later......

You guys are so great, cheering us on!

We have a few minutes break.

There are 5 men here and two trucks. The company seems to have thrown a ton of resources at this move. Over half the house is empty now.

They've stopped for sandwiches and chips and I have a container of punch on the go for them.

So far, they haven't fired me!

Still haven't showered. I went online and wrote down the boys ballgame schedule. They each have a game on 3 nights, so there are only 9 more game nights for us during the next 3 weeks. Last week there was a game every night, Monday thru Thursday.

Helia, it sounds like a wonderful party celebrating your dd18s graduation. Did your ds fly in for it?

Twins, is your dd getting an apartment in her college town? With your ds now driving himself to work, you have gained some time to be eaten up with other responsibilities.

Harriet, is today dd15s last day of school? If so, that is probably why dgs#5 is waiting to be born, so that she can be there, too.

Okay, that is wonderful that your dm apologized and can now continue her daily shopping.

Dee, I'm praying with everyone else that your dgd15 will turn her life around under the guardianship of your dds dfriend and family. I am sure that your dd needs the trip north after all the stress she has been under, while this matter has been settled.

BookSaver, I can't believe what a control freak you now have for your sewing board president. Her keeping the membership list so private, is ridiculous.

CathyS, you are doing an excellent and organized job of dealing with the paperwork in your storage unit office.

I hope Harmony is having another day of sleeping in and getting some restorative rest.

Ivy, you posed a question the other day about reading. I love to read books, but once I start one, I am hooked and want to do nothing but read until I'm finished. There is an exception. When dmil was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 23 years ago, I had started a book. I did not finish that book until after she was gone and I was back home for good. I had the book with me and never read a page of it. But I spent so much time at the hospital that I read several books from their library. I only read if dmil was asleep. If she was awake, I wanted to be spending precious time with her.

Norma, I missed the race the other day but was very disappointed that California Chrome was unable to achieve the Triple Crown.

Cowinkie, when do you go visit your dm? I am sure she is looking forward to your visit. I had to laugh at your son signing his first, middle initial and last name on all correspondence.

Dove, are you still working on your attic?

Nancy, I hope you get to enjoy your outdoor kitchen many times this summer.

lucylee, I hope everything works out with ddils new schedule. You retired in time to be available when any of your loved ones have needed you. And they have needed you.

Sunny, how soon before you fly to see ds3 and family?

Kathryn, I hope your move is flowing smoothly. As I went to hit submit, I seen that it is. Yeah!

blessed, I was relieved to hear that your dd2 was feeling better.

Elizabeth, I was so proud of you for talking to your xdmil. Just because you and your ex are divorced does not mean that she can not be civil to you. That is not a good example to your dd either, the way she ignored you.

Dgd17 daughter of dd2 is starting an office job today with a bottled water delivery business. It is daytime hours. Last week she started working evenings at a new gymnastics studio. She works there 4 evenings a week. She thought her job was soooo hard at her dm's pottery studio. We think is good for her to work for someone else.

Working for someone else other than family is usually a good thing, Lilac.

Thanks for good wishes for this to be the journey that works for gd15! They should be on their way to GA by now to the army base. Hopefully the change will be really good for her and we're all hoping only to hear good things coming out of this new chance for her. I dearly pray so because the alternative is not pretty at all!

I've blessed my house with a very good round robin. I've now included our deck and sweeping all the vinyl areas in that round robin. Each day I'm managing to get a little more done in areas that need attention. Had planned on cleaning out my side of the bed over the next couple of weeks -it's done! :D Have details to do here 'n there, but should have things in 'white glove' shape before dsisil gets here. Wonder what she'll have to say about her outing Saturday with dd and gd15. They met for lunch. DD said she (dsil) smoked 3 cigarettes in the space of the 10 minutes they were there. She suggested they all go in her car as dbil needed their car. They had lunch at O Garden (gd's favorite) and the bill was really mixed up. DD told dsil/gd to wait outside & dsil could have her cigarette. She didn't bring them with her since she knew she wouldn't be smoking in the car. Guess gd was anything but sociable. I'm thinking that's a good thing for dsisil to see. :? Can I say I'm really looking forward to finally (hopefully) having a FL winter without the stress of all this? It's been a lot of years. The year I had Shingles, they asked me if I'd been under any stress. Ya' think?

Here comes dh in the very noisy campground truck.

That round done.

-start a load of delicates, fold two lols
-brush teeth and whiten
-make the bed
-update RTM for routines
-straighten MBR and bath

Waiting for email later today about funeral this week. I need to see dsis this week, and the nursing home sent me a note about a care plan meeting on Wednesday. I can't go on Wednesday because I have a 4 p.m. meeting. I have a 2 p.m. meeting on Thursday that I can probably reschedule. Temple secretary thinks funeral Thur or Friday so I'll have to juggle the rest of the week once I know.

And dXbil just texted me about meeting him today to get some jewelry that is dsis' that dil insists I keep for her.

Hmmm....just finished talking with BC/BS regarding check for DD -they'll research to make sure it's not a duplicate and send me an affidavit. I had figured if it was a piddling amount I'd just forget it -but it was for $275. Guess both dgks could use that (split -that's only fair). Gal at BC/BS hated to send it to unclaimed funds in NY -hate for her to do that as well. It'll be a nice surprise (in a backwards sort of way) for dgks when I can give it to them. Probably will round it up and give them each $150. Easier that way. Always glad when dxsonil doesn't get any of it -really he's not entitled anyway.

Who will you be keeping jewelry for, Twins? I was just a tad confused.

Dh said he got $2/hour raise. But he's not had an increase in a long time and he's maintenance manager and works very hard. Probably even harder if guys keep quitting. DS-R would like to see him quit and go to work for another person and just relax and enjoy his time here. Respect is a huge issue! And not just with dh (as employee). Hopefully this 2-week mini vacation for campowner will be good for him. They have a house in FL and he now owns his late father's house just kitty corner from them and has that up for rent. I'm sure they'll have no problem renting it -it's a 2-3 minute walk to the Gulf and eatery. Nice house!

Think I need a bite of lunch. Getting shaky.
