H. Cleaned off big grill, & removed some hen tracks
I cleaned it then covered it with vinyl table clothes. Next up get veg. Pouches & relish tray ready.

I stocked up on stuff for a cookout while we were building the odkit. So it is not to bad on the budget.
Have sug. Free jello if any one wants thay. Dgds are making dessert something chocolate. I have new packs of buns in the freezer need to get those out.

Happy Father's Day to all our Village men!

Thank you Lilac, Dee, Harriet and Lucy for the anniversary wishes for dh and me. And Dee for Father's Day wishes. I have passed these along to dh and he says thank you also. This is our 46th! We are shooting for 50+. We also share our anniversary with my dcousin's ds whose birthday is today.

We just received a call from ds#2 who says he and his dfamily will be here this afternoon. So I think I'll do some three minute round robin room touch ups!

Hmmm...it's already after 10 PM, Twins? Ducking & running.

Had our church meeting -only lasted little over 1/2 hour. There is a severe timeline crunch as contractors can't do the job early this summer as we'd thought. Best is Sept/Oct which raises a whole new set of ??? There's a wedding scheduled for Sept 20th and our annual (which has been forever on last Sat of Oct) Smorgasbord on October 25th. Contractors figure 8-12 weeks. Wedding has been on schedule since last summer. Oy! But as I thought finance range is almost double what they'd planned. Surprisingly there wasn't much question about that just the timing. So hopefully we'll know more as the week goes on.

Beautiful day here and dh is out finishing painting the lattice work around our deck.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, TO THOSE MEN WITH KIDS!

DH & I were up very, very late, watching the most exciting boxing matches from Brooklyn! I got excited, went to bed at 1 a.m., and didn't get to sleep until 1:30 a.m., on and off. At 5:30 a.m., my sore hip woke me up! So I got up, have had little sleep, but had a chance to write 2 letters, so so far there are 4 to go out tomorrow. I owe 2 more. 1 is to reply to an email, which wouldn't go out of my Outbox, so I printed it, will snail mail a surprise letter to my BFF instead, she'll be happy, b/c she said she loves my entertaining letters. Then, I owe my BFF from NY, whom I've known about 15 years, via the Internet on a crochet site. What a wonderful Dmom & Dgma & DD she is! I'm so fortunate to have these 2 as friends.

DD didn't know last night, if she'd be able to come down, as she didn't feel well, was ill, etc... Today, she got up, waffled "do I? Or don't I?" and took a shower. Felt better & is coming! Yeah! DD got her Dad a BOOK! And **I** got him a BOOK for Father's Day, TOO! He rarely reads, but when he does, he reads in baby steps from morning to night, while he does other things, too, and he gets books read a LOT faster than ME! Wowie-Zowie! He amazes me so much. I know he'll have a good day, our menu's good, it'll be fun to visit with DD and later Dson will call, too. They usually mail a gift card or something special in addition to a gift card.

LOL, Dee. How did I do that?

I slept in until 10 p.m. today

I really just got started earlier - I spread some mulch, watered plants, moved things on back patio back to proper place, when dh finished the yard, took a break, and then decided we should go to the market. So we went to the market and ds went with us. DH had a 20 minute massage, we got peaches, tomatoes, bread, walked around. We saw friends and visited. It was hot, altho not as bad as I've seen it.

I'll start the peach pie soon. I don't know if I'll get back to the porches now.

Bbq was a huge success! But the area filled up faster than we thought it would. Hens made a pest of themselves lol! we had fun, food was great. I learned I could clean set up and the put the cloths over it and keep it safe. A plastic tub for stuff we use will come in handy.

Clean up done now so that is good too!

Father's Day here was mostly good - a little disappointment. Dstepdil planned a small party after church here and we were starting to have a great time. Fun silly gifts, interesting chat.

But a friend of HRH's showed up unannounced and settled in. I love my husband, but honestly some of his friends don't make sense - at least not to me. It would seem to me that when the friend realized that this was a planned Father's Day time with family, that he would have cut his visit short. But no, he ate with us and stayed for hours, the whole time they could stay, not leaving until after they were gone. As it turned out, at worst possible moment, HRH's attention was taken by friend who wanted to look at upstairs computer, and HRH missed saying "goodbye" to dstepgd and getting his goodbye hug from her, which bothered him greatly. I was actually very glad friend heard HRH say, "oh no, (dstepgd) is gone already? I wanted to say goodbye."

Dd34 sent a bunch of photos. So we've been "Awwwwww-ing".

So sleepy. Will skip the concert tonight.

Enjoyed the one last night, especially being able to nap ahead of time, walk over (15 minutes), stay for 25 min (enough to say I was there and enjoyed myself) and then walk home. Total investment in time 1:15 (there was some wandering around before and after) instead of having to stay the whole evening since getting into town and finding parking is too big an investment of time to just stay for 25 minutes. What has happened in years past is we just don't make the effort.

Dh is still staying up until 1 each night in order to work 'in' NZ. Today he was doing a delivery before church so they'd have something for Monday morning.

Church went very well. An excellent 'last' service from our supply minister.

We skipped the potluck after, grabbed a hot meal from the grocery store, dropped in on my senior friend to give her a hug, then went over to the house. I was just finishing eating when the real estate agent arrived.

We signed with her, the house will be listed and showing can begin on Tuesday. That means I have tomorrow to get it clean and empty of junk (I can leave ds's things but stuff like random boxes need to either be organized in the storage room or out of the house.) It will be a busy day tomorrow and dd is unable to help.

Dd and dsil came by, picked up the rest of their things and dh and headed off to a movie with him for Father's Day. I stayed behind, gassed up the car, bought a bottle of Dr. Pepper and got to work with the tidying. One room in the basement is cleared out and vacuumed as is the family room.

Loaded the car with as much as I could fit in and then drove to the theatre, picked up dh and we came home. It took him three loads from the car to get everything up. I've put most of it away now and will start back in on unpacking when my timer goes.

I've promised myself an hour of work here and then I'll negotiate (with myself) about going to bed after tidying up the kitchen. We have choir practice tomorrow night, so will bring fixings for lunch and dinner with us and eat at the house tomorrow night. I have to remember to bring things like salt & pepper and an oven mitt.

Texted with DDIL#1 who is in Philadelphia this weekend with DS-R and dgs9. Dgs is playing in an FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) lacrosse tournament. Those (very tired) guys played 5 games today (each 40 minutes). They won all 5 games so won the championship. One thing is he'll probably sleep all the way home tonight. DS-R goes back to work tomorrow (first since his shoulder surgery in Jan) with strict limitations. Surgeon didn't really want to release him yet, but DS is going stir crazy to say nothing of only collecting (very little ) disability each week.

Dh is supposed to be getting a $2/hour raise but it wasn't reflected in last week's or this week's pay checks. Hoping it is this Friday before he ends up saying more about it. I even asked for a 'raise' myself. Just want a little bit to stash away each week that I can truly call my own. Earned my own pocket money for years and now haven't had it in quite a few years. Figure my time is worth something, right?

Dh goes back to the dentist tomorrow then he's taking a load of scrap to the metal scrap yard and then a load of cans (he gets 6-cents apiece and just keeps stashing them away in one of the barns. Something for him to putter at and his FL 'pin' money.

Oh my goodness here it is 9 o'clock already! How did that happen? We ended up eating dinner with neighbors and friends of ours from church. They had asked us over to try some of their ribs & we ended up having dinner. Not usually the way we operate. Could only think of Harriet's (well HRH's) guest.

Think I'll get ready for bed.
