TUESDAY TRIUMPH

Helia - Welcome Home! Glad your trip went well.

DH CT scan this morning was uneventful. LO and I walked the hospital hallways during the 30 minutes DH was checking in and getting test done. Afterward we went out to eat breakfast. We expect a phone call with test results from family doc later today.

We arrived home in time for LO to change into his swim suit then I took LO to his lesson.

Arrived home from that with enough time to change out of wet clothes into dry clothes. Then we picked up LO friend and went to the library summer program.

I am ready for a break now please!

Dh just reminded me of another tidbit from that day. I was transferred by ambulance from one hospital to another that day to undergo an angiogram. It was about 97 degrees out and the AC in the ambulance had stopped working. Now why in the world would you send a heart attack victim in an ambulance with no AC at that point? Remember the ambulance personnel had wet towels around their necks and kept swabbing me with wet cloths. The ride back was air conditioned.

Full round of errands - washed car, Staples, Hob Lob, post office, grocery and topped off gas in the car. Have unloaded groceries and put away perishables and am relaxing. I had left a little iced tea in a cup, so I watered it down and finished it. I don't dare drink iced tea again too late in the afternoon.

Grilled salmon, corn on the cob and asparagus for supper. Dh is home early.

Dee, I'm glad you had such good doctors all those years ago, giving us here in the village a chance to get to know you; and myself one of the lucky ones to meet you IRL! Thank you for good thoughts for ddil.

Norma, that's a good memory of your ds and OJ.

Helia, good to hear you and dh are home safe.

Both trips to the vet for both ddogs took about 2 hours, but they are both doing well. All their tests were normal. DBlondie was the most upset and didn't want anyone reaching for her face, so they put on a soft muzzle. No growling or snapping, but just as a precaution. DMinnie was good; they both let the vet tech put her arms around them when they got their shots. DBlondie will need minor surgery for a fatty tumor on her side and a different one under her tail in the next month or so. So, another mark to check off my travel prep list. Bank and library are next.

I don't remember just what I was doing at the time, but I must have been off work because I remember watching on tv the police following OJ on the highway, and we did follow the news afterward during the trial.

Dee, I hope your storms weren't bad today. I hope BookSaver didn't have any trouble with yesterdays storms either. Weather Channel is still talking about the twin tornadoes in Nebraska.

Finished the house. It is ready to show now. Even the storage room and the garage, although the garage has a HUGE pile of garbage bags for me to take to the road on Thursday.

I had another full load to bring here (despite leaving lots of things behind.)

Dh had a successful day working (and will work again tonight.) Plus he got rid of a pile of boxes to another soon-to-be-ex neighbour. Unfortunately, he didn't know about the pile of wrapping paper in the dining room. My goal is to have another 20 boxes for her by tomorrow and I can take the wrapping paper at that time.

Dd is coming tomorrow and we'll run some errands together. So my afternoon will be spent with her. I have to remind myself not to resent the interruption. After all these years of being envious of those of you who spend time with your adult daughters more than once or twice a year, I shall be happy to spend a half day a week with my dd, despite all the other demands on my time.

We had pizza leftovers for dinner tonight and I used the apartment oven which is weird and slow. The bottom element never came on so I don't know if it is broken or what. Enjoying the view (cloudy, rain, fog) while we eat. I love that it changes all the time, so much more than my views from the house.

Dgd was not able to come today.
After the other child left I was able to get to the store got the lt. bulb I needed for my close needle work lamp and the canister for my soda stream picked up my pills and found an instruction book with a pattern of a stitch I want to learn.

Raining here so I will need an umbrella for my walk or just use the ex. Bike.

You don't have to be Mormon to use any of their sites. If you go to Familysearch.org and type in your great grandfather's name you will find tons of information about him. I just did... Boy he had a lot of kids

Cowinkie , Do you need to pay a fee at the Family Search site, to participate in looking for your roots? I know my great-grandmother's and great-grandfather's names, she was from Sweden and he was from Denmark, but I can't figure out how they got to America. Also, I know very little about my natural father, his parents, but I have his and my grandparents' death certificate copies. This is how I know where my great-grandparents were from, countries, but not towns. I don't know if I'd be able to get anywhere, because I've got so little information about them. (Other than the certificates).

I'd been filling the DW all day, so DH ran it after dinner. I didn't have enough laundry to run a lol today. I did six 10-min. RR, to = 60 minutes on my feet doing this & that. I'm writing Christmas & New Year's greeting card poems & prose sentiments. They say to speak from your heart to someone you know, when writing them. So my sis lives in UT, having moved there last Aug. from Oregon, so she seems so far away. I wrote a card wishing her Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, across the many, many miles, got so touched, while reading it to DH, I blubbered like a BABY! It's very sentimental. So it's a good one.

DH is watching America's Got Talent now. He gets wood tomorrow. I'll work on laundry, more RR, as we get ready for dgrson-17's stay the 22nd - 28th. I'll work on the greeting cards, too, in hopes I can finish up a bundle for a mailer or 2, to ship on Thursday.

Kathryn , You've done so much work. You & Ken make a GR8 team & should be so proud of yourselves. I hope you'll love your new place, too, even more than now, once you're more settled in.

Nancy , I heard on the news that rain's in the E. State, but are those fires anywhere near you? Last report was that 5,000 acres had burnt. It looked like all dry grass & sagebrush, too, going up so fast!

Sunny, how grateful your family must be that ddil could have this addressed quickly and already be on the mend.

Missing Emptynester.

Up way too late with things on my mind, especially about our church. Did exercise this evening - that's good. All the evening dailies done.

Have gotten my directions printed for the trip to drive (carry!) dd and another student to the big city Museum tomorrow evening. The two of them are representing their high school at a "Teen Think Group". The idea is for teens from all over the area to brainstorm the direction the Museum should go to attract young people to their Studio Art Classrooms. Dd is representing the Graphic Design dept at her school and I guess the other student is representing the Art dept. I got elected as transportation!

I'm a little concerned about the uptown location and the late hour, which is after-hours for the Museum. The last time I made a similar night trip into the mid-city, I had my 6'4" dsonil with me. Can't decide whether to leave them there or stay somehow. But if the museum is not prepared for adults to stay and wait indoors, I don't want to wait in the parking deck.
