 I had done a new thread for today, Twins and the title was: "Finish UP Friday" and this is what I had posted -however I got up as I saw dh and forgot to hit submit.: Is there something you need to finish up before the weekend or a project left dangling this week? I need to finish preparing our RV for company -not really much but need to focus on some details. I should do a load or 2 of laundry -but we'll see...... Going out to dinner at 5 with several friends from the park. We had originally planned to go so friends who were visiting from FL before he has to go back to begin bladder cancer treatment. However, he ended up in the hospital with several problems and isn't up to it at this point. But we're all going anyway to celebrate birthdays, etc.

Today is Mr & Mrs Mystery's Anniversary. Never know if she might poke her head into the village -so HAPPY ANNIVERSARY MR & MRS MYSTERY!

At least I'm now s2s and had breakfast. Sipping coffee and then will get at it. Looks to be a nice sunny day out there. It was 60 in/50 out when I was up about 3:30. When dh got up it was 47 out/50 in!! He turned on the furnace! Good thing or I probably would have stayed under the covers for a long time.

Finally found a motel in Summersville, WV last night for dd. (Had to find one that was pet friendly for her lab). Took me forever as she'd originally asked for one north of Pittsburgh -there are none -at least not that I could find until she got to Erie, PA. Finally called her at 9:05 & asked where she was -almost to Beckley, WV yet on 77. Told her Pittsburgh was too far at that hour then looked closer to her and found the one in Summersville. She called to let me know she was there at 10:25 and lo' and behold it's one that she stayed at last summer with gd15 and dlab. So she needs to write that on her itinerary. Said she had a long drive through Charlotte -rush hour. There was no way she needed to travel even further, in the dark and tired to get to Pittsburgh even. Said she was going to 'sleep in' this morning and leave when she got ready. There's no real reason she needs to get here early. We're going out for that dinner and ds-R and family probably won't be here at least until 6 if at all.

Yes, finally Friday. I'm hoping I can do a little conga-ing today and finally spend some time on my home!

Yesterday was a bit crazy.
- 8:00 - 12:30 out to orientation
- lunch
- started the crockpot
- 1:45 - 2:20 out, dropping off GG at a going away party for another exchange student friend
- 2:20 - 2:40 down time. Yeah! Though, if I had known how sparse down time would be yesterday, I might have used it to get caught up on some things.
-2:40 - left for tutoring
- 4:40 - finished tutoring
- 4:45 - 5:00 - gassed the van. This was the 2nd gas station I'd observed that had crazy long lines. Did something happen yesterday??
-5:00 - 5:40 - picked up GG from party and then returned home
- 5:40 - 5:55 - fixed a snack for myself, very quickly prepped potatoes for baking in the oven, found directions to the camp
- 5:55 - 8:30 - picked up dd16 from camp
- 8:30 - 8:50 - drove GG to local festival
- 9:00 - finally home. I ate dinner
- 9:30 - dh wanted me to call dd18 who had called him earlier when he couldn't talk, completely freaking out over course selections. . . Ramble alert: Long story, but the art school seems pretty inflexible - and pretty intense - in their course selections. Honors program has certain requirements too. It will be hard to fit in both. .. . Dd18 worked something out, is doing her art school foundation year the first year. I thought maybe it would be good to see if they would let her split up that year over 2 years instead, but dd18 seems to want to do it this way. I'm also not sure they'd let her split it up, though she can do it the 2nd year instead. She will have 3 studio classes (18 hours/week in the studio + out of class hours as well - parents were told another 18 hours out of class work/week  The art building has just installed a shower b/c kids so often stay there all night. ), an art history course, and an English class for only honors students. And another one hour art lecture series. At least after 1 semester, she says she'll know if she wants to stay in the art program or not. This sounds like a lot to me. But if dd18 loves the studio work, it could be a lot of enjoyable work.

Dh came home from work dinner last night clearly more sick. He is having trouble shaking this cold/cough - whatever he has. No fever, just coughing and he feels awful.

I stayed up last night b/c GG had clearly gone to the film being shown at the festival. She called dh (not me?) around midnight to say that she was spending the night with her friend. Dh was sitting up in bed working at that point. This morning, there was a note on the counter saying that she was home - and that it was complicated, but she was alright. :?:

I managed to get caught up on some emails yesterday. I still need to figure out concert uniform time w/ orchestra mom. And my friend B has called me twice now to find out how my trip to Hawaii was. I need to contact her today. . . Also, should email my dad who emailed a thank you for his father's day gift.

Today:
- I am skipping WW to have some time at home this morning. Also, I have not lost. . .
- catch up on the house: kitchen is a mess, laundry is overflowing. A good vacuum before the party would be great, even though this is the girls' job. I don't think some of them will get to it today.
- At some point this afternoon, GG's friends are coming over for a good bye party. I believe I will be needed to transport them somewhere, but it is not clear exactly what they'll be doing. I think laser tag or bowling is gaining prominence over the water park.
- I need to buy Panera gift cards for each girl in dd18's small group for the mother-daughter get together
- 3:30 - 5:30, dd18's small group grad get together
- continue GG's party - I think we're either ordering pizza in or going out for pizza with the kids.

Hope all was really 'well' with GG, Helia. When does she leave?

I best get busy and start that Conga. Not accomplishing much here on this chair. Just balanced dh's check book which was off a little over $100! Good thing there's a good amount in there.

Do have the bed made -that's usually one of the first things I do. I started doing that daily way back in the early days of P&P and just can't NOT make it. On the occasion that I happen to not make it, I always end up wishing I had -good thing that's seldom. First I think I'll make a 3-bean salad and get that marinating in the fridge for this weekend. Not even sure if we'll end up with a cook out but I'll at least have the items to do that. Bought a medium sized cooler yesterday to try a new method for doing sweet corn (which isn't out quite yet -can't wait for it to be though). We did cook corn for dgs' first birthday last year and placed it in a cooler -it kept hot the whole afternoon. This method calls for the corn to be in the cooler and add boiling water -and supposedly it's ready to eat when you are. So we'll see how this method works out. At the very least I can put the cooked corn in there to keep hot.

So glad it's Friday! Every week I look ahead and think that next week will be quieter, less running, and every week I feel like I've been on the run most the week by Friday. Hoping for quieter week next week anyway. I am beginning to think of strategies for getting myself free of the two major volunteer jobs that I'm still doing - the religious school and temple. Both will need a treasurer - I can't do this forever.

dMacs has PT today at 11 and I have body work at 1:30. Some back and hip pain in the car yesterday so I know I need to get the kinks out today. I need to clean up for dcleaning lady, who isn't coming until around 1:30 today. Also I'm making challah and Shabbat dinner tonight. Dh and I debated last night over inviting guests tonight, then realized it was almost 10 p.m. and really too late to call so no guests tonight.

Thankfully, a quiet weekend, altho dh will want to be on the run...

I must get moving here!
-breakfast
-meds/vitamins
-clean up kitchen/breakfast bar
-GR straighten up
-fold lol from dryer

Hi everyone. I'll be taking both ideas to heart and Conga-ing with some finish-up attention.

HRH has a man meeting him here mid-day, so I need to be aware they may use the house for talking or may simply have a quick "hello" to me and leave again. I would like HRH to come in to make a phone call then - he needs to call his dr's office before they close for the weekend because they neglected to report one lab result to him.

Dd is sleeping in. I'm fine with that because she has not been getting enough sleep lately. Her driver's ed class does not meet on Fridays.

I continue to find myself preoccupied and getting less done because of church worries. But I did sleep through the night at least.

Laundry spinning, outdoor chores done. Most of Morning Daily Card complete.

Happy Friday everyone!

"We" had a 10 a.m. appointment at a car detailing place. We waited. Waited. Waited. Called the guy... "I'll be in around 12." Great business practice, guy.

Happy Friday Conga Day, Everybody! :D

I woke up early, s2s, did breakfast, QT, etc... DH is getting firewood, I have 3 letters to answer, will do a short computer letter, as I am busy doing a Conga & lol today, planning for Dgrson-17 being here the 22nd - 28th, & other things. I have the Granny afghan to do, reading I'd love to get done, & finish handwriting out a story. I want to work on some more greeting cards, too, for thank you's, support, Arbor Day & Valentine's to get off next week. I have a big list of holidays, w/explanations of them, to read through, too, plus another site on-line, which lists obscure holidays. Need to print up more address labels & outline forms. Have a notebook with handles on it, with binder paper inside, so want to divide it into sections, with labels & put in outline forms. Will be easier to just grab the notebook by the handles, go anywhere in the house, sit down, to outlines, write by hand, & am looking forward to a better easier less cluttered way of doing things. It's a more organized idea. :) But my house & pen pals call me first. I started a pre-Conga yesterday, so there are not that many things to do before dgrson-17 arrives. DH will vacuum & do toilets. I'll catch the laundry up, get Dgrson's shower towel washed, hung, etc.... I'll be busy on & off today, taking mini-breaks on & off to crochet, etc... Am rambling now.

CathyS, It's a wonder the detailer guy can stay IN business!

Harriet , I'm glad you slept well, despite the church flag pole concerns. :) Glad DD is sleeping in, too. Good luck to HRH on his last test result, too.

Twins's Mom , Go, Girl! Go! You're so productive! :!: :)

Dee , The corn cooking method sounds interesting!

Finally, a day at home with no demands on me elsewhere. I'm congaing for all I'm worth. As well, Finish Friday is good because I'd like to finish a few more rooms today. My eye is on the kitchen and dining rooms.

Laundry is under way and I need to clean this table off so I can fix the framed poster I broke (no glass, it just came apart and I need to reassemble it but there's no poster sized work surface anywhere else in the apartment right now.) Once the poster is removed from the treadmill (the only large flat surface I had to store it while waiting to for a surface on which to fix it), I'll be able to put up the drying rack and hang up the load of laundry waiting to be hung up. It is a gorgeous day to dry outside but that is very much against rules. Not so much because of looks but because the balconies are windy and things could blow off.

Had a phone call with music friend so haven't had a chance to post until now. I unpacked boxes in the dining room while on the phone. Need to contain the packing paper once more. There's just so much of it with the china. And I can't recall how I fit everything into the china cabinets. I've even got rid of some (and while unpacking have put aside more things to donate) yet not everything fits. Hmmmm.

Took a shower this morning and didn't cry. That is progress. The hot/cold seems to be related to low water flow. I wonder if the water temperature balancing valve doesn't work if there is water flow below a certain gpm and with the low flow shower head it wasn't enough to allow the valve work as it should. At .5 gpm, I'm pretty well guaranteed it will scald after a while but at the higher flow, not more than 2 gpm according to the package, it is fine almost all the time. Plus the stronger shower means I can get in and out faster. Used a bit less water than earlier this week with the rental company's shower head, but was out of the shower a lot faster because I didn't take forever to rinse the shampoo out of my hair and/or avoid the scalding water.

The plasterer arrived while I was in the shower but I had brought my outfit for the day into the bathroom so was all set to let him work in the bedroom. The window sort-of opens now but we can't actually open it until next week since the fresh plaster job will be ruined if we mess with it now. He also repaired a huge bubble that appeared in the office. Monday morning they will come and touch up the paint. We are going to ask for a small jar of paint to keep here so we can tough up dings we make. There are several from door handles because there are no door stoppers (yes, we noted this weeks ago but it still hasn't been addressed.) I'm looking forward to door stoppers so I can remove the rolled up towels on the floor behind every door. I keep going to tidy them up and then remember why they are there.

I need to have some lunch now and then get back to work. The dining room is getting enticingly close to being done. The kitchen is the next priority since I need to find the vitamin containers. We lost 2 days cases in the move but I have extras for the tray somewhere. Just not sure in which of the nine boxes. I need to refill the container because we are now out. We should have been out two days ago except I forgot my morning vitamins a lot lately!
