FRIDAY -WE'RE 'FIXIN' TO MOVE

Post by DeeClutter »

Sure that's on all our minds. I will be trying to do my little bit in my corner so I have all my 'ducks in a row' by the time this comes to fruition.

Harmony:
It's not done, just stacked neatly in piles. That's something at least.
You're right -I have noticed that if I at least have things in neat stacks, it looks amazingly better than every which way. I especially notice this when I'm picking up at DD's. I don't get rid of anything (unless I obviously am 100% sure it's trash), but just putting in neat piles makes a huge difference.

And, Harmony, thank you for that advice. I will be trying that immediately -more water. This particular 'Charlie horse' almost always happens on my upper/inner thigh. But it was especially wicked yesterday. So when I walk today, I will be sure to carry a bottle of water with me. Question is -how to carry it since I usually have my cane and now I'll also probably be walking dBailey.

Been up for a while and have had my meds and made the bed. Guess it's time for breakfast and coffee. Dh went down to work really early this morning -shortly after 6. He IS a morning person. Know he came out in the recliner early in the night but not sure when. He did say last night he had a sore throat which he never has!

Sun is shining in the windows and I notice the living room is in dire need of dusting. Guess that will be first up this morning -or if I wait the sun will be past it.

Happy Birthday Helia! I hope your new birth year brings many blessings.

Good Morning!

I was suprised this morning when I was eager to & wanted get on the treadmill. I've been working on establishing this habit and honestly it hasn't been much fun. In order to overcome my resistance to doing it, I made the task SUPER easy. All I have to do is "get on treadmill". No time or distance requirement. I'm not even required to turn the treadmill on!!!  Since it is soooo easy I have been doing it every day. Little by little I'm going longer time and gaining a little speed. Nothing worth telling about, but just focusing on establishing the consistent habit. So it was a joyous surprise to find myself not being resistant to doing it and ACTUALLY WANTING to do it this morning! Baby steps!

Our recent rains have changed our landscape. Everything is green and growing. I mowed the yard earlier this week and this morning I noticed it needs to be mowed again! I can't remember the last time we needed to TWICE in one week! I'm too grateful for the moisture to complain about the extra work it brings.

This evening we will attend Birthday party for LO friend. Another evening spent at Chuck-n-Cheese...........LO will love every moment of it.

Good morning, villagers ~
Yesterday's throwback into the 3x5 box was fun. I enjoyed seeing the stack of cards growing behind the "completed" tab divider.

Now let's have one of our old-fashioned conga lines to frolic into the weekend. Jump in whenever and wherever your tutti-frutti hat guides you.

I've been trying to find a good video of a conga line, but got sidetracked by some versions of this Harry Belafonte song Jump in the Line:

It's such a happy dance beat!

All I have to do is "get on treadmill".
Sounds a lot like my "begun is half done" quote that's my signature line, Okay. I have to remember that myself! Just BEGIN!

Really need to study the transfer process to start saving posts and those things I'd like to save from other posts -just in case. Especially recipes and things that were posted when our dShelley passed. Those posts remain very special to me and I should have saved them long before now!

One thing I did "begin" this morning was to type out a "We've changed our address" letter. Kept waiting till I found change of address cards. Decided a simple letter -we can no longer receive mail here at the campground as dcampowner has decided they don't want any responsibility for the mail. He could put up mail boxes if he so chose, but he doesn't really want anything to do with it. So many of us are left trying to scramble that change. Of course some places such as banks, our insurances, the DMV all want a physical address, but most will allow a second MAILING address. In the meantime we did an address change from here to our DS-R's house. As they bring us mail I will try to send out this letter so hopefully by the end of the summer they're actually receiving very little mail. I will leave "forward to" address labels for the stray ones that reach them this winter.

DD talked with dsonil late yesterday. He's very down as he's not heard anything from the job/interview in GA. His quote: "I just can't do this any more". Of course he's never really wanted to go out searching for a job -unless it fell in his lap. Unfortunately his present job which is good, has the handwriting on the wall and he knows it may very well be short-lived. But at the moment he's very down. He is a "glass is half empty sort of guy" no doubt about it.

Should be a new form coming for DD to have notarized -think this gives gd15's present guardians permission to take her abroad should he have a deployment say to Germany. They are most definitely 'in it' for the long haul. So hope she takes advantage of this final opportunity to make something of her life.

I filled the instant pot with bonlesss Pork ribs, BBQ sauce, Montreal seasoning and onions. It should be enough for 4 meals. I'll serve one meal and put the other 3 into the freezer to pull out later.

BookSaver, "okay, I believe you." :D
I'll be holding on tight to these chore-delegating lyrics from the song...
"Somebody help me!"
"Rock your body, child!"

Yes, dd is OUT of school (for the second time) since her Driver's Education class is now over as well. (Oh-Dark-Thirty alarms are over - yay - and for next school year there are rumors high schoolers will have a later school bell!!! I hope, I hope, I hope.) She has only her driving hours to accomplish this summer and students are not informed about that schedule in advance. Could happen any time.

Hi to Lilac!

Dee, as parents, your dd and dsonil have done part of the toughest job, which is flight from the "nest" when it's the right thing for the child. For their family, it's especially tough (and important) because dgd's way into the world needs to be given more time, with more stops along the journey. It's a blessing that additional opportunities have kept happening for dgd for years - not just these lately - due mostly to your dd's constant search for all the help she needed.

What wonderful words, Harriet. I will copy them and give them to DD when she returns from D.C. She still sometimes starts a 'guilt' trip or wondering if she 'failed'. I believe they were able to raise her and get her to 'such a time as this'.

I'm completely lost in saving my posts. I can't even decipher the very first step. Think I must be completely computer illiterate at this point. Says to 'hover' over the name and a number will come up????Don't get that -at least not yet. Help, Okay!

At 11 eastern time zone, I'll disable the boards for about 20 minutes in order to try another backup. Not sure if you'll be able to read the boards but not post or if the boards will be down completely.

Go dust something.

I'll post and email again when the boards are back up.
