Hello, Emptynester! :) Glad your Dson landed safely, too.

Lady Maverick, Glad you had a good phone visit with your Dson & family. Hope you can get together this week, too.

That's okay, Kathryn, to mix me up with Lilac. You've had a lot on your plate with our move!

Nancy, I'll have to look at your Avatar. :)

We had dinner, I took a couple of breaks during the laundry, so am still at it. Dark clothes are drying, whites are washing, then it's wash towels. The laundry basket will be bare again & Kitty cat will be so happy with me! She sniffs it to give me her approval!

I'm writing DD a letter now, started a journal exercise, but it was repetitive, useless, boring, so I ditched that idea. I printed a couple articles off the Internet to read instead. 8-) I found DD a book to mail to her later this week, too.

Set my dawn simulator. Tomorrow is wood day for DH & his dbuddy. I have plenty to keep me busy while they're gone, too.

Emptynester, I had been so concerned with you not posting. I was afraid that you were having a health issue. I am relieved that your dh is on the road to recovery. I am sure the two of you are enjoying a visit from your ds.

Kathryn, thank you for the avatar. I really appreciate it and that you took the time out of your busy schedule to do it. Thank you again, I am thrilled with it.

Bernice, it is so nice to see you posting again. How are your daughters doing?

I am so glad to see LadyMaverick and RamblinRose using their original names.

I hope Mr. Guy didn't have any problems after his fall last night. One of dh's coworkers fell at the hospital after getting up during the night. He needed to use the restroom and didn't call for help. His room had been mopped while he slept and he busted open his knee replacement. He later posted a picture of it and it looked positively horrible. After more surgery to repair that, he healed up and was able to return to work.

I don't think I have posted much in 2 weeks, but I have stayed cuop.

Dh's retirement is now just 6 months away. I am just having a really hard time coming to grips with the thought of such a change of life for us. Tuesday it will be 2 weeks since we had a go around about it. He started talking about buying a motorhome. I thought he planned to gallup around the country in it. I told him that if he planned to do that then we needed to sell our house because we couldn't afford to travel and maintain this house. In the summer we would be cooling it, watering the lawn and having it mowed and would not even be here. After several days of not talking much, he finally told me that he didn't intend to travel all over the country in it, he just wanted to be able to go lakes within a 300 mile radius of here. So that is the compromise we have reached, because he had earlier told me that we would not move away from our girls and grandkids. Then he kept talking about buying a home in the Ozarks and I felt like he was going back on his word. Anyway this a compromise that we can both live with. So a retired guy from the plant had a 1993 34 ft. motorhome with 23000 miles on it. They bought it new and have taken excellent care of it. We went and seen it Thursday. Then we went again yesterday so we could see how it drove. The guy had dh drive it. We would buy it in a heartbeat except that it will hang over the sidewalk in our driveway. We can't leave it indefinitely parked on the street. We debated about adding a driveway on the west side of our yard. Our double driveway is on the east side. But we would need to have a tree removed and lots of cement poured. Dh finally talked himself out of buying it. So now he is on the lookout for a 24 to 30 motorhome. When that man decides to buy anything with wheels on it, he is not happy until he buys it. Drives me nuts until a sale is complete. I keep telling him that as long as he has one by next spring, he has plenty of time to look.

Dd2s house is finally sold. The first couple that looked at it, decided to buy it after they lowered their price for them. They did list it, with them as preferred buyer's. Dd2 had originally asked $4000 more than county appraisal. Here, houses always appraise for more when selling than the county appraised them for. This gal had told her that the price was too high for them but if they lowered it to let them know. When it wasn't moving, they decided to lower it for them. They needed to sell their house. Dd2 so called it. She said watch they will sell it themselves and even though the county appraises it for $249000 they will ask for $299000. That is exactly what they did. It sold in a few days for $295000 cash. Their buyers want the house in 30 days. Which is great for dd2 because originally this couple wanted 60 days till closing after their house sold. But since they were being pressured, it will be quicker. It really gripes dd2 that they are making so much off of their sale and she cut her price $20000. But it is what it is. At least with this leaving such a sour taste in dd2s mouth, maybe she will stay put.

The pool guy finally put their pool cover on and then dd2 spent days getting the pool clean enough to use. They finally were able to swim in it yesterday. She called and wanted us to come down and see how good the girls were doing. They have life jackets with arm floaties attached. They were paddling all over the pool. Yesterday and today her dh has been home to swim with them.

We have had over 10 inches of rain in June and have beat the all time June record. They are saying we are in the elevated risk for storms tomorrow. If that happens it will put us even higher. Time will tell.

Dd1 is done working summer school, so we will be able to walk every day again.

Guess I better get around and get to bed.

Thank you, thank you, thank you again Kathryn, for my lilac avatar.

Yes, I got your email, Harriet! Thanks so much to you & Kathryn for the avatar help! I flew here easily & landed in my nest without a feather out of place :) .

I chose a new background color to go with my new nest, one of the purple ones. It's pretty. 8-)

Feeling happy about many village related things -- that Mr Guy & Mr MT are doing well, that so many old friends are back (waving ~~~ to Bernice & Pandora!), & that the move here was so quick & simple, thanks to all our talented, techie mods & admins.

Love Ramblinrose & Lady Mavericks name changes, & seeing all the familiar avatars back next to so many friends names.

Lilac, your new avatar makes me want to put my nose up to the screen :) . Lilac flowers smell so divine.

((Dee)),
I hope you are feeling much better.

So good to see you here, MT! I've missed you.

Waving also to ~~~~~ Bookie, Ivy, Helia, Nancy, Twins, Blessed, Norma, & all who stop by later. Oh, & Kally! I've seen your porch light on a few times recently -- it's so good to see you when you visit.

Watching for Lynlee, Lucylee, Harmony & ... I'm sure there are others but I'm sleepy & my brain does not want to play any memory games right now :-) . Maybe they were here earlier in the week, or in a different thread? Have to cuop tomorrow.

Sweet dreams, everyone.
