Realized I haven't posted yet today.
Got going slowly but still faster than lately.
Ds biked over to outdoor store for climbing shoes. They were still closed so he was back fast and went over later. In the meantime I worked on taming paperwork, s2s and breakfast. Thankfully ds reminded me not to have my berries on my cereal.
We headed off at noon, had lunch, BB&B (no luck - was looking for a black stress mat for in front of the sink), banking at both banks, then I did Walmart for the mats (success, but only by buying two kinds and stacking them) and ds tried for a phone. His foreign phone works with my chip but not with his second choice of cell provider (first has to mail stuff here for him and he really wants a phone before Tuesday.)
From there we went to the general store for mail, gas and a visit and then to the house where we picked up stuff and aired the place out. It was very depressing for ds to see how 'un-home-like' it is right now. At least now he understands why we think he's doing us a favour to live there. There was signs that someone has been through the house but I didn't get a notice (closet doors were open and the stuff animals on ds's bed were rearranged.)
We came home and I've started dinner but need to get back to it. Was taking an 'elevate feet' break since I'm up to 8K steps so far and none of those are actually biking, it is all steps.

Re: What's up Wednesday
Nancy, That's nice to know about the hoses and how the hens are enjoying their day, too. ♥
I finally read my co-writer pal's short story. He fooled me this time, however. He usually writes so I can figure out his twist ending before the end, but this time, I was mesmerized until the very end and never caught on until the last few paragraphs.
Now #2 LOL is drying, #3 LOL is washing, so hoping to have them done by report-back-here time by 5 p.m. Pacific Time. I also need to crochet on those last 4 one design Granny squares for Dgd, then I'm done with the 10 x 5 for today.
DH and Dgs are watching "Shanghai Noon," now because Dgs has never seen it.
I've finished hand-writing story #2 out, have 2 to go, don't know if I'll be able to get at them today, as my mind is getting tired. I might veg out and crochet to the movie, and relax, leaving my writing job for another day. I was all excited the "Poetry" Magazine would be something I could subscribe to and submit to, but it's a very intellectual magazine, from poets with books, from colleges and universities who have websites and poetry careers. It's a bit above me, although I write poetry. But when poems don't make sense to me, it usually means the poets are in another realm from where my brain is at. I'm not trying to put myself down or anything of the kind. I just love inspirational, romantic, nature poems rather than intellectual things I need to re-read a few times, before it sinks in.

Peeking in...
I'm about to make my second trip to W M...their machine wouldn't connect with my iphone. I came home in a tizzy because this whole picture thing is taking up way too much of my time.
First because many are tin-types it was difficult to get a clear picture without the reflection of my iphone. My camera's images were not nearly as good as my phone, which is really strange to me. Anyway I had to fiddle-fart around getting the natural light so it would be bright enough to SEE the image, but not reflect ON the image. Took a while but I did it. Then went off to W M. The photo machine would not accept my phone. The guy there was really terrific trying out several solutions, but none of them worked. WM is putting in a new photo lab but it won't be done till I'm gone. The other WM in the area won't get their new lab until after mine WM is done.
Sweetie saved me by suggesting I transfer the phone pixs on to a USB stick and then use the photo machine. So I just finished doing that and after I make dinner I'm going back to WM I don't care if I'm there to midnight....I want this done and off my mine...
Lucylee...Bookie gave you some excellent advice so I'm throwing in mine...remember mine is free and worth about that much
I had the same problem with my in-laws only they weren't as nice as you and your dh are. Your "kids" need this time as a family unit and your DH needs to understand that...but I don't think you should be the one to get in the middle of it. If your son wants to have family time then he should be the one to speak to his dad. This is a guy thing, and I'm betting the back that your DS knows how to talk to his dad without hurting his feelings.
I personally got to the point that I resented my husband would not talk to his parents about "us" wanting our own time. I began to feel my dexh was choosing their feelings over mine. You have an only son and so do I and sometimes we as moms feel like we have to keep the peace in the family. If your son does not want to have you travel with them, then let him tell his dad and not put you in the middle. It is a hard dance to learn, but your son has now reached the age where he needs to forge an adult to adult relationship with his dad...and yes I do know how hard that is....
So perhaps the ONLY thing you could do is to say to your son...I understand you want this family time to yourselves as it should be, so speak to your dad so he understands how you feel. And then leave the rest alone. You've done a great job so far handling the two sides, but if your son learns/knows that you will in your loving ways act as a go-between then you can expect it to happen again.
Your son sounds like a very level-headed, respectful and insightful guy so I'm sure he will handle the situation with love and tact.
Gotta go fix dinner so I can go back to W M before the evening storms roll in.........

Ironing... ironing... ironing...
DH gets a big TA-DA, though. He surprised me by taking the Tahoe in to get a tire checked today. Usually he wants me to do those things. (Tire was low last night, he put air in, low again today -- found out there was a nail in it.)
RR -- yes -- you are right, also -- and I told ds this morning, "You know you're going to have to tell your daddy y'all are going up there, b/c he's all the time wanting to know what you're doing such and such a time, you know..."
And ds said, "Well, yeah, but I wasn't even sure we were going when you talked to (ddil)" -- so I said I was just going to try to forget I did talk to her!
The only hard part IS dealing w/dh when he gets his feelings hurt... and like I said, it's hard to explain to him how it IS a public event and everybody in the world can go... and he would love it sooo much... yes, yes, yes... but ddil sometimes feels crowded by our presence, so we have to back off sometimes. It doesn't mean she hates us or anything... it just means she needs to feel like a grown woman on her own with her own family sometimes.
Good thing -- ds and dgs met her after she got off work today and had lunch at C racker B arrel.

10 x 5:
I don't have enough dirty dishes to run a DW load tonight, so scratch that off my list.
I got the last 4 of 15 Granny squares done, for one certain pattern for Dgd's afghan.
I have towels still drying, at 5:15 p.m., with about 4 minutes to go, so THAT PART of my 10 x 5 did NOT get done "by" 5 p.m.
Oh!
Have a GREAT evening! It's 5:17 p.m. here right now.

Re: What's up Wednesday
Thanks for the heads up, Nancy, they've been zapped. We may have to go to administration team approval on each new member. A pain but the only way we'll get ahead on this unless there's a simple switch I've forgotten to flip on.
Dinner was very good, if I do say so myself. That's good because it isn't a simple recipe, it has multiple steps (make stuffing, stuff pork chop, braise, bake, add remainder of stuffing under the chops 15 min before they are done.) Dh did the veggies, I put out salad and we had a nice dinner. I put everything in soak and then we drove out to The Third Amigo's house, 22 minutes away by the highway route, and dropped off ds so he could pick up his car. He'll be home after a good visit with his friend who has missed him terribly. He works nearby so maybe the boys can have lunches together before ds moves to the house.
We came back along the river and got to know that area a bit better.
Then I did up all the dishes instead of loading the dishwasher. I had run it earlier today and already emptied it so it will be ready to start loading again tomorrow morning.
Dd had suggested we come out tomorrow evening for a visit since she's busy in the daytime.
Ds has his first shift on Friday morning, just training, and then works 9 a.m. - 2 p.m on Sunday. There's a building being demolished near here at 7 a.m. so we might get up early to watch that. I think we can see it from here, I know we can see nearby buildings.
I have a few things to do tonight to keep up with the paperwork. And I need to do physio. I'm very bad at walking after elevating my feet which scares ds.
Edited to add: I've changed the sort of captcha to a slightly different one to see if that cuts down on problems. And I've added email verification. If that doesn't work, we add approval by an admin.

Re: What's up Wednesday
Hooray, hooray! Ironing is DONE.
Vacuuming... not so much. And now I am thinking vacuuming really needs doing as well, b/c bug lady comes tomorrow... but I'm going to swiffer around the kitchen and utility room and call it done. Floors are in a sad state around here, but I've about gone my limit today.
Wonder if dmom got her money for the boat today... we will never believe it is sold until she has the check in her hand, LOL!
Still spinning a bit re: weekend... which, as ds said, is probably all for naught, b/c as it stands right now, dh still doesn't seem like he physically feels up to another day trip, anyway.
I just hope when ds tells him, he doesn't get all crazy like he does sometimes and start this all-or-nothing thinking. I can just imagine him already, saying/thinking: So we NEVER get to go see Friend's Band again? Because they don't want "chaperones"? But they expect us to ALWAYS be on call for them? * sheesh * I'm probably blowing this out of proportion in my head. Maybe dh won't even care.
I've got to tell ds to make it clear that this is not an ALWAYS sort of thing, it's just a THIS weekend kind of thing... maybe b/c ddil has been working so much lately, etc?
WTG on your dinner AND on zapping the bad guys, Kathryn! You're getting them so quickly that I haven't even noticed anything amiss in our village!
I have a headache.
I watched East of Eden (on dvr) and three episodes of Cold Case while I was ironing.
I've eaten too much. Again.
I need to lie down and read something peaceful and calming.
