STUPENDOUS SATURDAY

Hmmm... that door bar could be a problem in high schools, I guess, but the trouble-makers would be easily caught, I guess, since they'd have to let themselves out of the room eventually. Of course, all sorts of unscrupulous activity can go on in a locked high school classroom... but still, since there'd be no way to get away with it, maybe that would cut down on the problem. The school would also have to have all metal doors, which I don't think was the case in my high school. I mean, otherwise, the gunman could just shoot his way in, anyway. It'd be worth a try, though, that's for sure.

5 minutes sunlight early in the day? I'm guessing y'all mean before noon, huh?

Our plans certainly took a change around here for the night. DS called and sounded like things were NOT going well around their little corner of the world... they had declined offer to go out and eat with friends, (which had been in their plans for most of the week) but now said they really needed to get out of the house, could we keep dgs? I don't know what's up... but dgs is here and maybe a night out alone will do them some good. I remember being 22 (ddil's age). I'm glad I'm not 22 anymore. I wonder if she still wants to have family gathering for Monday. Haven't called anyone to invite yet.

Took dgs to CVS with me... back home... dgs tried to eat supper but it is sooo frustrating b/c he wants sooo badly to feed himself and it's a slow, disappointing process for the most part, until he just gives up and then refuses any help from me. He'll get there though.

So glad LO is doing well. The children's run sounds fun!

I took a much needed nap then started again.

** Laundry is completely caught up
** Called a couple DNephew/DNeice on my side of family to put together a cousin memory making time. Next week I'll take LO and at least 2 of his cousins to Dmom's home about 30 minutes before Vacation Bible School starts. They will get to play for a few minutes then DMom will load them up into her van and take them to her church (about 1/2 mile from her home). They range in age from 4-6 years old so I think they will remember the experience of going to VBS with Great Grandmother. Since I am limiting them to being at her home for 15 minutes it hopefully won't overwhelm her. The 1/2 mile drive with them through small town will be minimum danger.
** Took a deep breathe then posted on FB that MPB is for sale. The news has been seeping out that it was about to come up for sale and we have had a couple people come talk to us this week. We will see if the FB post generates any serious buyers before moving on to next phase of trying to sell it.(advertising in newspapers and/or listing with real estate company)

I wrote this but forgot to hit Submit. We went for our weekly Saturday Night Ice Cream. While there I received a phone call from a very interested buyer for MPB. They have already obtained financial backing. I don't want to get excited yet, but can't help being hopeful that MPB is going to be soo easy to sell.

Good Evening, Village Ladies!

Our Ta Da List for today, so far:
- Remade the bed
- Put hot spots out
- Ran 2 daily scans
- Ran the DW
- Wrote my a.m. "to do" list
- Sorted the mail
- Got a.m. clothes out
- Wrote in my one journal
- Did my journal exercise routine
- Put pens, etc... into 2 smaller 5" tall cobalt blue mugs for my end table to match our cobalt accent colors.
- Wash Dgs-15.5 blanket
- Have jeans and tees washing
- Deleted some e-books off my reader
- Held Dgs-5, chatted with him, got/gave hugs and kisses.
- Got out paper plates for ice cream dessert bars, sandwiches and cones, after lunch for Dson, DH, and the dgs's
- Gave everybody hugs and kisses before they left
- Helped put the living room back into order
- Worked on my calendar
- Tidied up my small office
- Changed my mind about writing 4 November stories because Dgs-10.75 decided to come in August!!!!
- Will only do 2 November stories, already done by hand. Will log before Dgs-14 comes July 20 - 16 and will send before he comes, too.
- Put my OMM legal pad list out on the dining room table corner, across from the back of my end table in the great room, to keep an eye out on, cross off stuff as I go.
- Put all dirty towels/facecloths/hand towels into the utility room basket.

Whew! That's enough for my list! It's exhausting to realize what I've done/am doing!

GOOD NEWS! HAPPY-HAPPY NEWS: Our Dson has put in for a transfer, will be moving closer to us, so we'll be able to see them much more often and watch our 7 grandchildren grow! We're delighted, but it may be 6 months before it happens. I'll need to be patient, can hardly wait, and it's so wonderful for us to hear this today.

We're worn out. I've recovered faster than DH because he cooked, I talked and sat, didn't eat with them. They were outdoors in the HOT temps in the woods and under the patio table umbrella. The little toddler-3, is full of energy and go-go-go! WOW! He used to be so quiet, not talk, and now he says words like "Cut it out!" and "No-no-no!" and "You can't do that! No!" LOL! ANOTHER JOY: I got to see Dgd-18 months, on video on Dson's phone, taken about 4 - 5 weeks ago when she took her first steps. Ddil was holding a Pokeymon toy out, in front of her, she kept walking to get the toy, but Ddil kept moving back and Dson filmed her. So cute, feel so lucky- NOW that I've gotten to see her take her first steps. Technology is so wonderful! I could go on and on, so will be quiet now and say good-bye.

Back from dinner. It was fun since it was ds's friends welcoming him home. One of them makes orthotics (so that's part of the reason I went - to talk to him.)

My foot is much better now, staying off it helped a lot. And I'm even in sandals (although I took my shoes in case I needed to swap out before coming home.

I'm tidying up quickly now. Only half the paintings are up but it is a start. Not sure I'm happy with many of them but they are up and perhaps it will grown on me. The mirrors, on the other hand, are all in perfect position and, come to thing of it, I love where things ended up in the kitchen and the office. It is just the living/dining room I'm concerned over.

Dd and dsil have invited themselves to dinner tomorrow night. That's good since I never know when is a good time to invite them. It will be my 'last supper.' Thankfully, my procedure is on a Tuesday so the clear fluids fast on Monday isn't unmanageable and much better than the Sunday I had last time. Still need to pick up the meds but finally remembered to take a photo of the letter and so I have the info on my phone.

From the give-away shelf in the garage, I got a new purse. I quite like it - lots of compartments. Needs a small repair, or perhaps I'll have to live with the slight worn spot, but I don't care. It is in much better shape than all my other purses. I still need a great backpack purse and may have to buy that new but in the meantime, I have a purse for this winter.

Watched part of "Quigley Down Under" for the gazillion time. Love that show! We stopped watching because DH had to leave to do MPB chores and I need to start on my PM cards.....but I'm being a tad bit lazy and procrastinating.

Next up -

** 3 minute in each room general tidy

Nice quiet day. I was able to cancel old ISP and applyfor veteran's discount from our phone provider.
I finally cooked and mashed cauliflower substitute for potatoes. It was just ok. Maybe with a richer beef gravey rather than chicken it wouldnbe better.

Need to bake cake or brownies for fellowship tomorrow, so I better get going.

WOW, FF -- that is quite a list!!! WTG!!!

I don't know about the younger couple, but we've had a great time. DH was sorta out-of-sorts at first, when ds called, b/c dh had his Plan in his mind, and he HATES changing his Plan. WE were going out to eat and to see a movie... but once ds asked what we were doing, dh said he couldn't enjoy himself knowing they were unhappy... and we finally convinced ds that tomorrow would be just as good or better for us to go out.
So we've been to S teak and S hake w/dgs and then just rode around for hours, listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. DGS really gets wound up when he is riding in the car at night, and he was just jabber-jabber-jabber all night. We've had a ball. (We still can't understand a LOT of his words, but it's so much fun to listen to him "talk" and laugh.)

So happy to hear your ds is moving closer, FF!

Good luck w/the MPB sale, LM! Will y'all be farming full-time then, or does dh have another job offer in mind?

My dad's house went on the market a couple of days ago. There is a couple coming to see it tomorrow. Possible open house next week.

CathyS, Good luck on selling your dad's house. I hope you get good buyers for his home who will be good owners and love it there, too.

Kathryn, I'm so glad you're feeling better, too. Heels get so very, very sore and painful to the gentlest of touch. Walking on them can be excruciating.

LucyLee, Yes, we're thrilled that within 6 months, Dson and Dfamily will be closer, too.

Towels are dry in the dryer, but it's a very large load. I'll baby-step removing them. I'm about ready to write 3 letters to new pen pals I saw listed in a pen pal newsletter called "Inky Trail News." If you "Google" it, the site comes up. There is a PDF email copy for download or a paper/snail mail copy to be mailed in the postal mails. I sent for a sample issue. I also have another pen pal newsletter, wrote several from it and got new pals that way, too. In "ITN" there are email pals listed, too.

DH is watching "Gravity," now. I'm listening to it. Our Dcat doesn't know what to do with herself now that there is no boy(s) here. Next dgs-14 comes July 20-26. In August, dgs-10.75 comes. He's emphatic about the .75 part because, as he explained, "I figured it out on my own!"
