This is most likely the most friendly spot on the internet. So grateful for our little village!

I was awake a lot of the night. Barely heard dh leave this morning but then had to get up for bathroom break at 6:30. Realized I didn't feel great and took my blood sugar. 64 So that meant I had to get my meds into me and eat breakfast. Okay, so now I'm up, medicated and eaten. Sipping my coffee but not feeling ready to "go" yet. Going to be a slow morning.

Had a really nice evening yesterday. Had 'cruise night' and I normally take $$ for eats. We serve Angus burgers or Zweigles hots. Both are very well liked. (We get these sleeves of angus burgers at S am's and they have QUITE the reputation. I've now officially spoiled my kids on them.) DS-A brought the big hauler with both dgks14's race cars. Had a lot of nice comments on how nice these 2 kids are (I knew that ). Then we all had dinner together at dd's. It was yummy! Enjoyed dgs2 to the nth degree. He's becoming quite the mischief maker however and has decided it's fun to have people chase him. DD had both 2 younger dgs (9 & 2) walk on eggs as an experiment. They could as long as the eggs remain upright in their container. She looks for things for dgs9 to do some 'back door' learning.

DD is taking dgs9 and dgs2, as well as dgd14 to meet ddil#2 at the Strong Museum of Play in the city this afternoon. DDIL has yearly passes since she works at Strong Hospital. DGS2 loves it there and dgs9 says he'll be bored. (Betting NOT). That will make 3 big things dd has done with him this week -the other 2 were "Planes: Fire & Rescue" movie and she took him to the Corning Glass Center on Tuesday. He was picked to be part of a demo in one part, which he obviously thoroughly enjoyed. So dd got pics of that. Then ddil#1 (his Mom) was on TV and in the paper on Wednesday demonstrating a new spray med for overdose victims. Quite a week for everyone!

I so enjoyed having our whole family here but I fear it was too much stimulation for my brain.

Dee Nice to see everything is going smoothly in your corner of the village.

I'm up and at it. Pain level continues to drop and I'm moving quite well this morning. The bed is remade with fresh sheets and the first of 3 loads of laundry are in the washer.

Yesterday's paperwork push has the piles at least organized and labeled.

My plan of attack:

1. handle the 'needs immediate attention' pile
2. start and hopefully finish the sermon, at least I have title but no notes so need to do my exegesis first.
3. finish the reconciling of accounts. I have two more to go, each of which have 4 months to do but one only has a few transactions a month so should be simple.

Dh will be out for several hours late morning. I'm hoping we can go to an outdoor concert this evening or tomorrow evening. It is at 7:30, on Parliament Hill. They are doing the 1812 Overture which I love to hear on Parliament Hill because they use the Peace Tower Carillon for the bells section of the piece and it is glorious.

Thanks for opening Dee and I so agree, this a very friendly village.

Dd1 and I have walked this am. Her and her dh are leaving later this am for a 3 day 2 night trip. Dd2, her dh and the 4 younger ones leave on Sunday for a 5 day trip. Dh leaves on Wednesday for a 12 day or more trip. Everyone is tripping and I am holding down the fort.

I need to shower so I can go pick up RXs. Only 2 were ready yesterday so I opted to pick them up today along with the 1 that they had not filled. I have auto refills there. Last month, I received a call and no RXs ready. This month, no call but I knew there should be some. Obviously, their system has some kinks. When I signed up for the auto refill, all my RXs were filled at the beginning of the month. Somewhere along the line, the refill dates have changed and now I pick up RXs, 3-4 times a month.

Guess I better iron something to wear, take a shower, pick up RXs and start deep cleaning the library.

I also love the part when bells are actually used! It would be wonderful to hear. Nice that you're now close enough to go to things such as this. I think you're finding several things to enjoy about your new abode. Dh was in Ottawa several times during his years working for the Gov't at the "big yellow box". I would dearly like to go sometime with him, myself.

Busy weekend here -"Christmas in July". And as is par for this celebration -rain and thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow evening. Not sure if we'll go out to dinner. We'll see. Sunday we have 2 celebrations -a graduation party to which we had accepted an invitation weeks ago and also a party/family get-together at dsgd and her dh's for a 'reveal' party. They are expecting later this year. Of course they're both at the same time. And to add to that dgs9 is racing his go-kart at long last. He's been off several weeks because of his lacrosse schedule. Think if he had his way he'd just be home playing video games. But ds-R & ddil limit that and insist he needs to be doing something.

Speaking of whom -here they come (dd and dgs9) that is.

It was nice and cool this a.m. 54*-90* today's temp. Range. Sun. For the next week. 102*-3* one or two days this next Wed. Glad I worked on some cleaning yesyerday after loosing 1/2 day Wed. with issy tummy feeling better but had less energy than normal.

Neighbors are out owners are back to prep. For next renters and listing on the mkt.

So very thankful for this Friendly place we can gather and for each of you!

Yesterday was an unusual day. DGS19 finally reached a point where he decided to make a change in his life. He has been living a lifestyle that was on the road to no-where good. Yesterday we picked DGS19 up and took him to eat and then went shopping for bare essentials (shoes, underwear, and personal care items). We took him to the bus station. This morning DGS19 started a 54 hour bus ride. His plan is to stay with DD while he gets his act together. Even though DD is still unstable (has moved 6 times this year!), she is more stable than DGS19. He desperately needed to get far away from his current "friends". I'm thankful DGS19 is making a change from where he has been. I'm hopeful this will turn out good for both of them.

Dee, Thanks for the opener. It's Friendly here all right.

We have a 3-year-old who run-run-runs and disappears and vanishes. He loves us to chase him, he is very loud, too, and quite energetic, inquisitive, into everything and loves heading for my portable phone. He USED to be so very quiet, barely made a sound and my-oh-my, has that ever CHANGED! 5.5-dgs was the same way, but now, after preschool, he's so polite, talkative, sweet, and well-behaved. So when Dgs-3 goes to preschool, he'll learn to follow rules and settle down, too, I'm sure. He's such a cutie-pie.

Nancy, When I was on a different insurance plan, last year, before they booted me off of it, I had auto-refill for awhile with the mail-in pharmacy the insurance company had us on. But the problem was, they'd automatically send me medications, before I was even ready for them! And I ended up with several bottles of several medications ahead. Finally, I had to have them take me O-F-F Auto-Refill, explaining how I'm very proactive about ordering on time and no thank you. It's much easier to get pills when they're needed, instead of getting the automatic surplus. It's just a "money-maker" for the drug company. Yes, too, I realize there are people who forget to order their meds all the time, so this method of auto-renewal IS very convenient and needed for them. It's an individual thing. Everyone's different.

LadyMaverick, So sorry about DD moving 6 times this year and still being unstable. I'm glad DGS19 is there. It sounds like he made a good move for him. I hope it works out, too.

I got up at 5:30 a.m. I was wide awake. I've been crocheting edgings on the Granny squares for Dgd's Christmas afghan. DH and Dgs-14 are getting ready to do their last load of wood for the summer today. Dgs goes home tomorrow. It's been a long week, but very fun. Dgs is a great teenager, so out-going, and fun to be around. This a.m., DH doesn't have his hearing aids in. Dgs's voice is deep and low. DH keeps saying: "I DON'T HAVE MY HEARING AIDS IN! YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO TALK LOUDER!" Then Dgs yells, so it's a funny morning around here. DH doesn't wear hearing aids around power saws or while riding the lawnmower.

That is done and now I'll s2s and have some breakfast although my tummy is very upset so I'm not sure I can eat.
