OY! It's raining again. We've had another 1/4" in the last 20 minutes or so. Here comes dh to change clothes -he's drenched!

We've got thunder now so it was a the really right decision not to head out.

Unfortunately, I've discovered I'm missing a box and have no idea where it might be. Unfortunately, it is from the period of time when everything was stored on paper, not just backed up on paper. Am worried the box got shredded because there's a box here of customer files and I'm not sure why. I'm also concerned that we ditched too much. We went from 2+ filing drawers to less than 1.

There is a tiny chance it might be at the house but I'm not feeling positive about that.

It has rained off/on here too.

Our dryer quit tumbling a few days ago. Things have been kinda hectic for DH lately so I've been waiting for DH to have a break to turn his attention to repairing the dryer. In anticipation of that happening soon, I googled the possible problem and it doesn't look so hard to fix. I have followed along doing the first few steps and have the dryer torn apart. However, my helper is just a tad too helpful in such tight quarters. I'm stopping until I have some time to work on it by myself.....or DH becomes free to finish it.

It is VBS time again. *POOF*

I am at dinner now at IKEA. Also working on how to compose the stuff I have to write. Thankfully I have found templates.

I thought someone just took a flash photo but it was lightening and now the rain is coming down hard. Glad I am safe inside and not being rushed out of here.

DH worked outdoors, while I was crocheting on a Christmas afghan. When he'd come in, I could see something "strange" on the landing atop our patio steps, near the sliding glass door. I asked DH about it, said it looked a bit odd, so he investigated. It was a yellow jacket's bee's nest, which fell out of our outdoor lighting fixture, in the hot-hot sunshine, and it fell to the landing. The bees are up in the lighting fixture, trying to figure out where their nest went. I asked DH if they'll build a new one there, he said it'll be kind of hard, so he didn't know. I wish they'd find a better place, as people go in and out that door and the fixture is right next to it. But bees do what bees want to do.

DH is watching the Mariners play the Indians. We won last night. It's 2 to 0, Cleveland's favor in the bottom of the 6th inning. I hope we can win again.

Tomorrow I'll clean the main/guest bathroom, put in a water cup, for rinsing Dgs's mouth out after he brushes his teeth. The rest of the house has been done. We can do toilets again on Saturday. He comes Sunday. He turns 11 in October. He's our last grandson-guest this summer. Then, it's back to the empty nest again.

Lilac, It sure sounds rainy and wet there. You sound productive, too.

I got 1 LOL put away, DH ran the DW, and we're going to have dinner soon. I'll do some more reading on "Hidden Treasures," and more afghan crochet, too. I want to also work on my 4 x 6" index card "control journal" folder, too.

How close is IKEA, Kathryn? In FL it's about an hour or so away in Orlando. We don't have any close to us in western NY.

Dh and I went to a town south for dinner. Was extremely good and have enough for both of us for lunch or dinner tomorrow. In fact I probably have enough for at least 2 more meals. Dh had schnitzel and I had eggplant parmesan. Probably not lunch because dh's procedure is at 1pm tomorrow. He'll probably sleep most of the way home.

Dee It is only 6 miles away. I can bike it (if I have company and I'm not planning on buying anything big) but today I took the car! Picked up two toilet brushes (I only have one here and find I've been putting off cleaning toilets because there isn't one handy to swish with) and then stopped and picked up groceries for tomorrow night's lunch and dinner.

Home now. Another great twilight sky.

I'm either going to work or clean. It is an one or another evening.

Looking forward to hearing from dh and whether or not his committee won the award it was nominated for (that's the main reason he's away - to hopefully accept an award.)

Dh's committee did win so he's very happy.

I managed to get a payroll task done and so am heading to bed now, very late. Must be up early in the morning so will set an alarm somehow. The car is due back at 9.

Hello again! I saw the doctor about the thumb and also mentioned a bony bump on my foot. She thinks the one is arthritis and the other is a bone spur. I had X-rays on the hand, which was interesting because this hand has the crooked middle finger that was completely destroyed about 6 years ago. Naturally, they assumed that I was there for that! (It permanently bent in yaw, pitch, AND roll directions, has limited movement, and cannot be straightened. However, it does not trouble me as it also has little feeling. Obviously, it is good enough to type with.) The non-straightening aspect did give them a little trouble in positioning the hand, but it worked ok. I was referred to the hand clinic, but won't get in until SEPT 8! The bump on the foot has only given me trouble once, when I wore a different pair of shoes to job hunt in. Unfortunately, the doctor thought it would give trouble in the future, so instead of going to the knit/crochet group on Friday, I will be seeing a podiatrist.

Naturally, after that, I did job search activities. Then, I realized I had not done my Bible study for tonight, nor had I gotten the pictures for the scrapbook part! Did that in a hurry. Got to Bible study and found out that the scrapbook person was out of town, so I got a reprieve there. (There was other stuff that should have been done besides the pictures). Since that lasted less time than anticipated, I came home and caulked around the leaking window and did yardwork (weeding mostly). While I was out, the kittens spilled a glass of tea, so I had kitchen cleanup as well. The tablecloth + other items are in a LOL now.

Next up: some Java studying followed by either snack + book or crochet + video. Also, one babycat will need her medicine.

Kathryn speaking of swishing toilets... must report that I am doing some better w/that part of my morning routine. I have not gotten to the point that the two 15 minute sessions before computer time are automatic -- duh -- they haven't even been happening at all -- BUT -- I am putting that off to the fact that dgs is here and that throws ALL routine to the wind. Starting next week, MAYBE I can really get a little better grip on myself.

I have never been to an IKEA store. I think I would LOVE it... but assembling everything would NOT be dh's forte...

Boy, isn't that the truth, FF? We have two light fixtures on our porch, one is above the rocking chairs and one is above the swing. We have huge bunches of black wasps that swarm there ALL the time. It is sooo annoying, b/c I am pretty much a scaredy-cat re: all stinging insects, anyway, so it makes me very unlikely to use my porch. DGS and I do swing sometimes, though, and early spring is usually a "safe" time. They come out when the weather starts getting hot.

Haven't cuop well, but I see LM is having dryer troubles? Hope that is cleared up soon.

I've talked about this a lot in J&C tonight, b/c I am concerned, about a lot of things... but Harriet, thank you! I saw your answer to my post re: ddil/small houses... THANKS for the reassurance. I think you are right -- when there is NO SPACE at all to even pull a vacuum cleaner through and hit the middles, it IS pretty difficult to motivate yourself to clean. That is DEFINITELY the problem w/the current house. PLUS, ddil hates the Kirby vacuum just as much as I did. There just happens to be a very nice Electrolux upright AND an Electrolux canister vacuum at dmil's... I'm keeping my fingers crossed they stay with the house, too...

Also posted in MO... b/c tomorrow is D-Day... at least D-day #1. Meeting w/the antique lady... Praying for good attitudes and cooperation from all concerned.

PS -- IF I connected ddil and/or ds to Flylady's website or Facebook, or just bought her Flylady's book -- how likely would it be that that would lead to them finding OUR village here? I do NOT want them here That is for CERTAIN. I would have to leave then and that would never work... BUT... would knowledge of Flylady lead her to THIS site? I think Flylady's emphasis on making routines a habit would be a HUGE step for ds/ddil. As dmom said, neither of them ever really learned to CLEAN, and yes... half of that problem lies totally in MY lap. But is it too late now to send them some direction. Coming from a book seems like a better way than just your dmom/dmil saying, "This is the way you have to do it if you're ever going to get ahead..." -- you know?
