Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
NOT tidy here. Kitchen is a disaster zone.
I suppose I will have to do something about that.
DH is trying to get calcium stains off mh from spraying water leak. Water is very hard and with hot winds any drop of water it makes white spots. This covered about 1/4 of the side.Going to take a long time to remove. Only a couple hours to make.

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
It is a tidy Friday here, of course, the dcleaning lady is the one doing it.
I did do my usual tidying up, however.
DD came home last night and is finishing up a take home exam. We may do something together this afternoon. Tonight dh and I are going to temple, then out to eat with a group afterwards. We were out last night - a "celebration of life" for the mil of a coworker of dh - didn't know anyone there and I was pretty bored but it was a nice little celebratory evening. Tomorrow dMacs has PT and we are going to an evening event that starts at 8:30 - Jewish event at other synagogue so it doesn't start 'til sundown. Shouldn't be late evening, anyway, and then on Sunday we have to go to another late afternoon/evening dinner event. I'll be socialized out by Sunday for sure.
I think I'm coming down with a cold - my throat is a little sore and I can feel it up into my ear.

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
I'm right there with you, Harmony! It's hard living with a workaholic, makes me feel lazy and worthless unless I'm working full tilt all the time.
Went to breakfast with dd and dgs9. DD's treat. She's busy packing to leave later tonight.
Going over to help dd pack her car in an hour or so. That way she can just hand stuff to me from the MH without going up 'n down. Figured after I get dh his lunch. Going to do dishes first too.
Had a hard time sleeping last night -was up and down and down and up.
Need to do laundry but decided I'd wait until dd has left instead of using up time I could spend with her. A little easier as I know she'll be back Sept. 17th (very late) until late the 21st. We have a wedding. Then we'll be going there early Nov.
Need to get tidying here, Nancy. As long things are 'Tidy', the rest falls in place. And I don't feel that CHAOS!

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
Morning ya'll...
Am tidy here...did that on Wednesday after getting in late Tue night. I ran errands yesterday, but was working on, and then finally got a migraine. Didn't get everything I needed because of that, so this morning I am going to make a quick run to WM and then come home.
I think I might be on a migraine cycle because I can feel another one rolling around in my head. Took meds for it already and hope it will keep it away.
I need to make a list before I go...I did that yesterday, but forgot to put some of the stuff on it.
Hope ya'll have a great day....

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
Seems to me there would be much better things to 'work' on, RR. Sorry, just had to say that. I know migraines are no fun. I seem to go through cycles myself. I hate taking pain killers but know it's the only solution. I've probably had them since falling on black ice & getting a concussion in Quebec City back in the 80's. We were on our way to the snow/ice parade through a university parking lot -once second I was standing & the next flat on my back. It's a beautiful city to visit (this was in February for the PeeWee International Hockey tournament -back when DS-A was playing with the St. Louis Blues as their sponsor -the next year was the NJ Devils and it was in the 70's that year.) Well, there was a bunch of trivia.but was working on, and then finally got a migraine.
Off to get the dishes ready -oh first have to turn on the water heater unless dh did it earlier.

Hi. Not very tidy here, but I do have set of sheets in the washer. Got most of my paperwork chores done. Made 12 phone calls for DH this morning.
Wrote another few checks and must stop at 2 banks. I'm making progress getting our financial stuff straightened out.
RRose hope you don't get that headache.

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
It's a finally tidy Friday here. Dgs has all his "stuff" in the bunny room and a tablet and DS in the great room. My desk got tidied except for some journals I'm going to read through, but my writing's in a mesh metal 2-tiered basket where it should be.
Today, DH and Dgs will be doing some pruning this morning. After they're all done, I'll be washing up all the LOL. Want to send Dgs home with clean clothes. The Adidas jogging set DH bought Dgs has been worn on and off since Monday. He sleeps in the pants, but takes the jacket off since he gets too hot in it for sleeping. So I'm definitely be washing that.
I have "Friendly Friday," on my office card displayed, so I'll write a couple of letters I owe, will write DD, too. And when the mail comes, if there are more to write, I'll try to do a catch-up. DH can mail it on his way to take Dgs home at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning. I hope he has a good traffic flow again.
RR, Sorry about your migraine. I have a cousin-in-law who has them a lot. She uses herbs, acupuncture for them, but still gets them.
Dee, Sorry about your sleep last night.
Twins' Mom, It's nice you have a dcleaning lady.
MT, Sorry about your kitchen. Good luck on it.
I need to run. I've been reading obits, entered my contest (Cedar Cove at Hallmark's site), did my free blog books, 2 this time.
Have a Happy Finally a Tidy Friday! Good opener, Nancy!

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
I started off well. Got up and had breakfast, s2s, remade the bed with clean sheets and put out clean towels, started laundry and then started the cleaning. The vacuum isn't picking up stuff except in the bristles of the brushes but there's almost no suction. I had been warned the motor was on its last legs and so finally gave up (I'd 'clean' one area and then the brush would drop that dirt elsewhere.)
Biked over to the vacuum store. He said to bring it in because he does new motors for them and buys the knock-off ones (only $100 instead of $300). I was thinking of getting dh to put the motor in for me since my old vacuum guy had quoted $350 plus labour for the job so 'obviously' wasn't using the cheaper motor. This new guy quoted me $160 all-in. So I'm taking the vacuum over when I get the car back.
After that I biked up to the discount grocery store and picked up 11 lbs of potatoes and carrots, plus some other veggies, eggs and potato chips. The backpack wouldn't fit on my rack so I had it on my back and the eggs and potato chips in my basket. I haven't checked to see if I broke any eggs but I did have them in a padded bag.
Dh and ds are at a movie now. I'll make some lunch for myself and then get back to work on the cleaning using the electric broom.

Re: Finally a Tidy Friday!
Am stiff as a board, did some stretches, need to do more. Have a UTI and IBS and a cold sore. Abreva helps the cold sore, it's nearly gone. AZO, cranberry pills and cranberry juice is helping the UTI, or what I "think" is a UTI. Dr. is on vacation next week, I feel so much better, with only a 18 hour treatment so far.
Pills for IBS help. So my morning isn't all roses either.
Dgs is watching my glass-lid washing machine. It's got front-loader technology and is a top-loader using HE soap. Dgs is having so MUCH FUN watching his new athletic suit wash! LOL!
I told him that he can watch the timer count down, to the very end, if he wants to and he WANTS to!
DH bought a mattress pad cover for our king-sized bed. Our old one's yellowed, split, won't stay flat, and rumples under my back, like rocks under my lumbar, ribs, etc..
The new one's quilted with fiberfill inside it, it looks beautiful, but our chore- which will be WONDERFUL when done-
will be to strip the bed, put on the mattress cover and put everything back. Oh, my. And it's LOL day, too. Will be a busy Gma today.
We're sending Dgs home with a box of food. Things like potato chip snack packages, spicey-salty brittle, cookies, etc... ANY foods that will be good for a growing family, their lunches, which are snacks, leave THIS house.
Told DH that the sweets and snack foods GOTTA GO because I cannot "DIET" if they're here. Told him it's like an alcoholic having alcohol in the house. He looked at me with a AH-HA look and said, "Guess you're right!"
It's like it sunk into his brain- finally. I was very happy I stayed on track yesterday and did the timer tidy thing, which kept me active and 3 Lbs. were gone this morning. I'd been snacking way too much in the evenings.
So when the Dgs goes home, so do the temptation foods, too.
I'd better go. I believe the guys are about done pruning, so it's time to sort LOL and get that going.
Kathryn, That's too bad about your vacuum cleaner. I hope the guy fixes it, which will be cheaper.
