Do you have places to trot today -or are you 'trotting' about your house. Loved the organizing bits from yesterday. Loved that link, Harriet. DD used to have a hanging shelf type thing in GD's closet which was labeled for each day of the week. Since she wore uniforms to school it was fairly simple. She would simply add the additional clothing for each day. Worked pretty well too.
Went to the eye Dr yesterday. Really liked him. Explained again what was happening with my eyes and why my glasses have always needed a prism. Guess it's really a muscle problem (my pupils? are in two lines instead of converging at a focal point.) He was sending a note off to my Dr to let her know there were no problems with my eyes (including diabetic problems -that's always a relief!!). Just the one cataract in my right eye which he told me could wait till spring for surgery -but it does need doing. The left eye is barely started. We did talk about my reading glasses and he suggested I use them more often for reading etc (ummm like I should?) as I'm then not trying to find the bifocal with that right eye. I was more cognizant of it last night and of course he's right. Reading glasses were much better.
Have to get ready to go over to stay with dgs9. Hopefully he'll be ready to come over here by 9:30 or so. I have things I need to get started on. Lots to figure out -what to take to FL, what to leave for dh to bring and what to leave period.
Noted that funds still aren't posting on our bank account, but I do see where they were transferred from the investment company to the bank. So at least I know they'll show up in the next 24 hours (I hope). Unfortunately our salesman does not work on Wednesday. So guess (unless $$ show up later in checking account) it'll be Thursday before we can pick up the car. Not much I can do about that -not about to have a check bounce.

Ahem, excuse me, Dee, it's time to be what Kathryn calls "northern." Considering that you are buying a brand new car at what I'm assuming is a hefty price, perhaps your salesman should be available at your convenience (if you want the car on his day off) or make a deal with another agent to share his commission. You should not have to wait on him, not even 1 day. He is not losing anything by waiting for your $ -- as long as you pay before the end of the month, he gets credit for your sale. Remember also that they didn't give you as much as your DH wanted for the trade-in. You don't have to apologize for the delay caused by your bank. I'm sure that in this market, the salesman is very grateful for your business. Actually, he could give you the car this morning and log it as an extended test drive until the paperwork is finished, thus giving you good customer service and assuring that no one else will claim his sale.
Outfits for school: I see nothing wrong with prepping outfits for kids of any age to avoid the early morning panic. The photo Harriet posted yesterday is a great idea, including the bags on the hangers for undies. Think how much easier that would make doing laundry, too, to be able to see at a glance if a particular outfit needs to be washed (i.e. boy's gym clothes in a backpack). Figure out a routine on the weekend for putting together an outfit for each day, plus an extra because, you know, accidents happen at every age.
Other options:
* Still on hangers, but use closet rod labels or rack dividers instead of the bags with the days written on them. Seems to me the ziplock bags would not last very long, especially for a teenager in a hurry. When I did costumes at the theater, I found some great plastic labels that slipped over the bars in the dressing rooms to designate which clothes were for which actor. Until I could afford to buy some dividers, I made my own cut from milk jugs -- so they can be as plain or as decorative as desired. I'm talking about the kind of dividers that stores use to organize sizes on a rack. Amazon carries different styles -- search on "rack dividers" for the round ones (6 for $2.89+s) or "garment organizers" (12 for $17.00)
* Was it that old movie Clueless where the girl took pictures of her clothes to figure out what to wear? Use a pocket page for multiple photos to create your own Look Book.
* Get inspiration from TheVivienneFiles.com and put photos of the clothes on the computer to be able to mix & match.
Kathryn ~ If I were you, I would find a most flattering dress and then put together a collection of scarves or necklaces to wear with it for the different Sundays. The ease of a uniform, but the versatility and variety of using different colors next to your face. Men wear the same suit all the time and don't think anything of it. If someone in a congregation starts judging a female minister for wearing the same dress each week as a work uniform, big deal, that's their problem not yours. As you said, many preachers wear the same gown every week.

Booksaver: That is my plan but the outfit has yet to present itself to me. At first I was looking for a travel knit dress like the one I own but not sleeveless. Still haven't found that (I want to try it one before buying - I have found a few online but only US suppliers and cross border shopping is complicated.) But there's the issue of microphone receiver placement. I do have a 'preaching' cross (i.e. big) to wear with assorted scarves. But I need the basic dress/skirt&top first.
I'm up and at it. Should be, am currently a time zone ahead of most of you.
Nice day so and the hotel has dropped the hint they need us to go by leaving the bill under our door. Dh's phone call is over so now is the time to get packed and out of here.
In the interests of time, I'll be skipping my ferry ride this trip.
Not sure if I said this or not, but dh has been invited to speak at two of the universities here in September or October. I've now booked this hotel for both sets of dates and will let the reservation go that I can't use.
It is nice to know when I'll be back and that makes skipping the ferry ride easier. Dad and I used to take the ride every time we were here together. It was his home port for about 15 years so he loved to be on the water looking at the different berths he'd taken ships into. As well, his relationship with my mother sprung from a ferry ride. He'd met her before, through a friend of hers when they were out as a group. Then one day they arrived at the same time to take the ferry over to Dartmouth and by the end of the trip he had asked her on a date. One of his favourite (and now my favourite) paintings was of the ferry landing at Halifax since that his where he met his wife. It hung in his den, then my living room, and now hangs in our apartment.
I'm up and at it. Should be, am currently a time zone ahead of most of you.

Good morning all! Ds and I will be trotting across the country toward Michigan today. Unfortunately, we will not be making an early start as I just woke up 
and it is almost 9 a.m. here. Ack!! I need to do a couple emails this morning for moms group organization tasks that need to be happening now. Also got an email re: the start up date of Hebrew class at the temple/synagogue. Never sure which it is or if there is a difference. If a job comes through, I'm thinking of taking a break from Hebrew for a while. I don't know if I'll have the time to prepare properly every week. I'm sure they won't mind - but I will.
I missed the hanging organizer that Harriet posted. Something like that might be good for dd18.

We might take an alternate route since last time, I35 around Waco had construction and such bad traffic jams that it took us about an hour to go 2 miles. I've trotted through the first 6 hours of today by following my hourly schedule. It is always a big boost of energy when I can get things done, however now I'm out of steam. I need something to eat. That 200 calories protein/fruit breakfast smoothie has been used up and my body is asking for more fuel. It is an hour before lunch so I'm eating 1/2 of a turkey sandwich to tide me over.
Next up -
** Tomatoes washed, cored, cut up and into Instant pot
** Peppers cored, seeded and into food processor then bagged and into freezer
** DW unloaded

Supper is in the crockpot: chicken with salsa, taco seasoning, and black beans, to be used as the base for either taco salad or burritos.

Simple way to not have to decide early in the morning.

Following Nancy and Twin's Mom, I am kinda starting the week now, on Tuesday, but I do have a plan.
I'm going to take Dee's trotting idea as moving efficiently, keep on keeping on.
helia, the link is to the outfits of an approximate Kindergarten girl, I think. Today I have noticed that I can enlarge and look at segments of the photo. The concept is each day a hangar (with clothes) with what appears to me to be quart or gallon size Zip Loc bags over the hangars as well, each one with a day of the week marked on the bag on its label area. Inside the bags, I can make out socks, hair accessories, a pair of tights.
I had started to tease both LadyM (boy child) and myself (teen girl rather than a K) since this very organized little girl's mother was dealing with sequins, tights and headbands. (Awwwww - those were the days) But the truth is it's a good idea for ANYSTUDENT, even first grade cowboys and HS skinny-jean types. We all know the concept, really - this was just a great visual.
