I don't think I was here yesterday. Was I here on Saturday? Not sure. . Saturday, we had a family team effort to clean the house. It was in great shape by 5 pm! I went to the groc. store. Dh marinated chicken breasts to be grilled. Small group was here 5:15 - 8:30. We had a visitor, a fairly new divorcee from our church. I know her a bit; our kids are similar in age. She's still hurting, that is for sure. I think she enjoyed the group, even though we just ate and shared and prayed together. She is a lawyer at the big U in town and deals with some of dh's stuff, actually. She is smart and has some strong opinions. She'll fit into the group well.
Sunday after church, we had lunch w/ some friends. I don't know them too well, but it was really fun to see their new (to them) house and all the work they've done on it. They are an older couple, newlyweds in their late 50s, or maybe early 60s?? Her ex-dh died many years ago. He had never been married. He also got his first University degree about 2 years ago. I'm so impressed with that! He's a nurse. They make a lovely couple! Even their dogs get along with each other. I was able to veg for a while later in the afternoon. Then, I spent an hour on moms group organizational emails. I needed to schedule a bunch of meetings: steering committee meeting, interview potential child care worker, meeting with child care coordinator and crafts person to go over the children's curriculum and crafts supplies. Plus, another woman is putting together yet another meeting regarding the new ESL small group we're hoping to have in our moms group.
S, R, baby J, dd18's dorm roommate, and my mentoree student, who is staying with S and R for a week, all came over for dinner Sunday night. So, we were 10, including the baby, around the table.
So far today, I have:
- gone for a jog with dh
- s2s and self care/grooming
- taken dd16 to the dentist. 2 small cavities between her teeth, the beginnings of which they had spotted last time.
- done emails; mostly moms group emails.
- emailed Language Center to see if they know their need for teachers yet. This director told me to email him. He seems pretty easy going. I knew he wouldn't get back to me last week. .. .I think the other place isn't interested in me since they haven't contacted me yet. Would be nice to avoid that difficult decision. It would also be nice to hear definitively one way or another.
- lunch
- a.m. routine is done, except for dealing with the dishwasher and counters.
Later today:
- go shopping with dd18 for sheets (extra long) that will fit her dorm room bed
- meal planning and groc. list
- groc. store
- have dd18 give me her Univ. account info so I can create a parent account and pay her bills
- supper: probably jambalaya (using up leftover rice and chicken), corn bread, salad
- dd16 to drumline practice 7 - 9
Next:
- finish a.m. routine
- update laundry
- see if dd18 and I can determine a time to go shopping.
I'm moving in both dd18 and ds20 Wednesday morning. I'll have to do them separately, although they'll be living about 3 blocks from each other.
