Glad you had a good time at the campout, Emptynester.

So sweet of Mr. Harmony to write a personal message today.

I'm celebrating finishing up all of August's exercising and meeting my exercise goals for the month.

Sunny and Kathryn, I don't know the reason I have trouble on concrete floors. I have talked to the general practitioner about it, but I wonder if I have been clear enough. He felt it was my left IT band (muscle on side of thigh) because I have numbness start on front of thigh after a long time on concrete floors, then turn into ache. I can do a lot of walking outdoors before it bothers me and also our house, with wood floors, ordinary construction. Eventually it will, though. If I stay on my feet long enough, eventually foot and hip are affected, too. I just keep trying to stay exercised, and perhaps I need to lose some weight. I am careful to stay well hydrated.

My DMIL used to repeat everything over and over and over again. DH would laugh and say "Mom! You'd make the perfect witness of a crime or accident, for the police because you'd never change your story!" It was a bit "much", at times, too.

NOW- tonight, my molar where I "thought" I needed a root canal, didn't hurt at ALL with something cold on it. Now I'm wondering if a root canal will be done at all, but a Cerec porcelain crown put on instead. Dentist said it and 1 other molar needed Cerec crowns because of the filling under the crown doing what they term "bleeding", which can turn into a problem. A crown is $1,000 with our 10% cash discount and a root canal's about $1,200 - $1,300 with our discount. So, we'll do whatever needs to be done. but it's nice to eat something cold and have no pain.

MT, I'm glad your campout was good, too!

Nancy, I'm so HAPPY for you about your great lab results! Whew!

Kathryn, It was nice of your DH to start the LOL for you!

Harriet... you go girl!!! That's certainly something to celebrate.

My gut is kicking me hard....ate some yogurt for dinner tonight...walked the doggies cause I figured it would help toget my innards moving. Feel a bit better thanks goodness. I hate gut problems so know how Kathryn is feeling.

Lucylee...34 years ago I visited your stadium when TN played your school for an afternoon game. I was pregnat and it was DANG hot. I spent the first quarter with a hat I made of newspaper. That didn't help much so I ended up sitting behind the bleacher seats sitting on the cement. Back then we were still wearing dresses and heels to the games.

Way back in the olden days when I was a freshman at UT, the girls had to dress up in stockings, heels and dresses, cause you know back then you didn't dare go to a game unescorted with out a man. And of course as Scarlett knows the life of a southern woman has its expectations and demands....

Since I came from the north I didn't own any transitional types of dresses...and because classes started in late Sept that meant so did the games. I do declare I nearly died during my first game all gussied up in my finest dress, wool as it was,with my stockings and two inch heels trying to be the best little southern girl in the stands...I about expired on the spot...let me tell you this newly introduced southern girl didn't just perspired I sweated like crazy. And remember we, the students, were always given the choice seats which meant hanging up on the top bleachers..the birds flew way below us...and facing the SUN

Be that as it may, the following Sat I got smart...I still had to wear wool, but it was a skirt accompanied by a beautiful cotton capped sleeved shirt with stockings and flats. I AM a fast learner.

Hang in there Twins...try to leave your troubles behind and enjoy your weekend. You deserve it.

RR -- I cannot even IMAGINE dressing up for a game like that. I see those college girls -- sans hose these days, of course -- but still... in their little rayon dresses and high, high heels, and the fraternity guys with their ties and I just cannot even imagine dressing like that. I will be in shorts and a t-shirt until the temperatures drop. And I will SWEAT, yes. I will look like a drowned rat by the time it is all over. There should be a law that football cannot be played in Southern states before September, and not before 6:00 pm then! Can you imagine how hot the PLAYERS must be in all the equipment they have to wear, and with less breeze hitting them than we get in the stands?
I know what you're talking about in the TN stadium, too... oh my goodness... we've been up in the top rows by the river, up there by the big jumbo tron... ooohhh... LONG, LONG climb to those seats...
* whew * But it was COLD when we were there and the wind was really whipping around at that altitude, LOL!
DH always says cold is better though -- I'm not quite positive I agree totally with him -- but he says you can always put on more clothes, but there IS a limit to how much you can take off, LOL!!!

Well, it was hot at our game tonight, and dgs was NOT a happy camper... kept him in his stroller through the first half, then let him run around and play with rocks during the second half, which meant I did a lot of walking and following. Bet he and I both sleep well tonight.

Oh -- the books, yes, FF -- I already have them. I've already read Hidden Treasures, which you recommended, and the Jean Shephard autobiography (Down Through the Years). I'm now on Living Beyond Your Feelings, by Joyce Meyer, and next is The Husband's Secret -- by someone I can't recall right now. But it's supposed to have been a best seller a while back, and now the same author has another best seller, I think it's called Big Little Lies, or something like that.
