What can you simplify in Sunday for a more restful peaceful day?
This is my question today as I journal.

Re: Simplify Sunday
Wow...quiet here in our village today; hope everyone is all right and just busy! Hello, Nancy! Thanks for opening today.
I've had a quiet morning here at home and now having a bowl of oatmeal for lunch. I added a handful of raisins for extra flavor. Ddil called yesterday morning and asked if we wanted to come visit them for supper. So we made some cupcakes for dessert and went to them. She had made baked penne pasta with meat sauce and salad for supper, brownies for dessert; yummy! On the way home we saw a most beautiful sunset. I took a few pictures with my cell phone!
The last we heard, when ds#2 was here on Friday, his dfamily would probably be here this afternoon. We have a couple of roasting chickens ready to bake with stuffing and ?? vegetable (to be decided). I just have to finish kitchen tidy and set the table to be ready.

Re: Simplify Sunday
Wow, what a quiet day in PWYC-land. I don't think I posted at all yesterday - I got dMacs to PT successfully, napped in the afternoon, then we had light supper with dneighbors whom we invited to share our tickets to local baseball game last night.
This morning I slept in until 9, then read paper, walked ddogs and we went off to the local market. Bought corn, tomatoes, sweet peppers, goat cheese and cut flowers. A nice trip - not too hot, not as crowded as it can be, and saw several friends. Dh had a mini massage also.
May go to the pool this afternoon w dh - I would read in the shade probably but could be nice. There are ceiling fans in the covered area. I think dh is going to go to grocery for steaks later - hated to stop off with so much produce and flowers in the car, and we'll grill this evening.

Re: Simplify Sunday
Is quiet. We just finished lunch after coming home from church. Communion Sunday & our church picnic. Service was outside by our Memorial Garden and was quite a bit longer than usual -but that was okay. Sermon was on remembering, which was a good theme for me today. Today is dShelley's birthday and did quite a lot of remembering of many good memories. Sat on her memorial bench after the service for a while & just meditated. Nice quiet time for us. Didn't stay for the picnic -should have.
Stopped off at DS-A's house to deliver dsgd15's birthday card/gift and the bin I'd cleared out of his papers (from '05-'06). Did leave his payroll papers/records in there for him. Noone was home however so didn't get to see any of them.
Dh is now outside puttering. I'm going to do some odds & ends in here after I put away the fixins' from lunch. Need to print out a paper for dh to take to the orthopedist tomorrow. Seeing him for his knee. Got an appointment almost 2 weeks sooner than the original -nice.
DD called to see where I put our bracelets for Disney. I actually put them in a good place, easy to remember and convenient for us. Right in an empty drawer in the entryway desk. She hadn't looked there. She's going to Disney as she's 'stir-crazy'. It was probably dShelley's favorite place on earth -so it will be good for her.

((((Dee and family))))) Thinking of you today.
Church was good this morning. Our pastor is settling down (after going through several negative personal experiences) and his sermons reflect this growth.
Lunch was at our regular country cafe with four of our Dfriends.
Time for toes up!

Re: Simplify Sunday
I was back and forth to church this a.m. because of dd's extra commitments which start at 8:30, and then lots of company. Dbil and little niece were back as well as dstepson and his whole family including their dog. A happy moment when I took the two girls out for Mexican food.
Very unhappy moment when they had taken dog out to pee and Tobias assumed the dog was gone and came back into the living area. Then they came back in and Tobias and their dog had an altercation that did not go well for their dog. Just one swipe, one split second, and she may have to go to vet tomorrow to make sure her eye is okay. I am very unhappy about this. Both dstepdil and I blamed ourselves. We didn't take the situation seriously enough. Have already bought a get-well card (I don't care if it sounds silly) while out taking dd to youth group this evening. Dstepson and HRH say they have stared at the eye and the injury is no big deal - I hope they are right.
Since the finish of youth group is just 20 minutes from now, I will be back on the road. So I have not been an example of the restful, peaceful day concept!
