Not your FEARLESS leader but I will admit to being one of the leadership team here! Without the others, I would have given up and pulled the covers over my head long ago!

Well, I "knew" that -"fearless" just goes with "leader". But we do so appreciate your leadership. Without you and Ken and most likely your dd -where would we be?

Made out a week by week calendar for dh so I can write things in daily slots for him. Trying to keep him on track -especially after I leave -5 weeks. Seems like a lot but there's a lot to do in that 5 weeks. I've listed some things to do 'daily'. My hope is that at some point each of those tasks/projects will soon disappear if I can only do a mite each day.

Have hot sausage out thawing to make goulash for dinner. Plan to pick up some cheap throw away plastic containers (don't save the butter ones, etc) to freeze a few things for dh. That way he can warm them and throw the container away when he's done. Already have put up 3 containers of split pea soup. Asked him to bring me a milk crate to put some food things in that he probably won't use, but can bring to FL with him in the truck.

Hoping by printing the calendar and putting just a job or 2 each day, he won't have a huge task closing up. Becomes more of a task for us than some since we have to pack up the things we want to take with us and take everything out that might freeze. Plus make sure there's nothing available for mice to get at if they should get in over the winter. There's barely an RV who doesn't have that problem at least once in a while.

Ordering a new coffee maker on Friday -one that will brew a single cup via the k-cups or will do a whole pot. It'll be nice when we have company and need to make more or a different type. Dh and I like the French vanilla coffee, whereas dbil/dsil like plain. This way we can suit us both. There's others who visit from time to time who just prefer plain as well. More $$ than we've ever paid for a coffee maker but think we'll save in the long run. Think one thing we have to do is turn a coffee maker upside down in the sink when we leave -to be sure all water is out of the reservoir. A couple of times dh has started one in the spring only to have the water go all over the counter. Think leftover water is freezing in there and cracking the reservoir.

Twins, did you find the chirping alarm yet? Mine was an old phone I'd unintentionally turned on in a drawer.

Hoping Sadie's DSon is feeling better.
Hoping Lucylee's drs. apt. went easily and smoothly.
Also hoping Booksaver's DSis move to nursing home is not traumatic to her or family.

Yesterday our new neighbor came over to chat. They've been there a couple weeks (former owner sold and moved) and we've met outside a couple times. She's really chatty and nice but kinda nutty! I think we'll get along fine.

Feeling a bit better. 1 babystep in the right direction.

Had mentioned to DH that our floors were atrocious...I did NOT say he needed to do them... but I woke to the sound of little sweeper and smell of cleaner...and clean floors. I had stayed up the evening before and did gobs of desk chores so I would have time to focus on that today, but he beat me to it.

So I worked on other stuff instead. 4 dpc., filing all the stuff I did last night, evergrowing laundry pile. Whites done, some hanging up. Sheets twirling now. Towels done. Last load done a few days ago all hung up/put away. Some kitchen chores done.

Still to do: clean out microwave (Yuck!) 2 more dpc (waiting for lunch hours to be over) some more work in the kitchen.

Yesterday's storm early afternoon had another lightning !!CRACK!! and DH was out on the porch at the time. He thinks it hit either our big oak back there or one in the next lot in back. We're watching the tree to see. Storms have been really bad this summer around here.

I'm off to work this morning. It's Desk Day for me, which means getting my last Dec. story in and it's also Anti-Procrastination Day (should I make these be different day?) and I'd love ♥ to get DGS-5.5's Christmas afghan done today!

Kathryn, I hope you have a wonderful birthday. Cool that dd has planned a dinner. She is so attentive that it's bound to be a lovely evening.

Harmony, perhaps that new neighbor may just be a little nervous in hoping you will like her, and eventually will end up as the very best kind of nutty neighbor. I hope so!

BookSaver, nearby we have assisted living places that routinely move their residents to a higher-care-level space sometimes and then right back again to the usual personal "cottage" or room. It would be nice if you found out it was a simple matter like that.

Lilac, our state is one of the ones on the map they (CDC?) show that has had enterovirus patients. But we are not on the new map of states with the new "outbreaks". I don't know what that really means, except for a snapshot of the situation on a given day. Obviously, every state is just one airplane flight away from a problem. Dd's estimation of her classmates is lots of them getting slightly sick, but no one definite type of symptoms, so I guess we are having a normal Sept of normal viruses.

Today is our car-rotation day. So HRH and I have been playing musical cars with the repair place, getting the oil changes, etc.

I took the opportunity to shop at Tarjay briefly. For bathroom clutter's sake, I found dd one of those "Train Cases" that hold lots of little things. I saw them used for teen girls' detritus in a magazine. The one I bought is configured like this one, which you can see unfolded in the other photos, but the exterior surface is tougher - more rubberized, almost like automotive mat surfaces, with rubber feet as well.

In theory, she could organize some of her vital junk in here and slip it under the cabinet. But when she set it on the counter it shouldn't scuff. The exterior should last forever, the interior - we'll see. I hope to keep the peace between dd and her father and redeem the counter for the greater good.

Hello Dear Ladies,

Warm but not hot again today. The weather is not bad at all.

Did kitchen clean-up, made lunch and cleaned bathrooms today.

Dson-18 is better but his hearing is still messed up so told him to take it easy today.

Work day for me at WM. When I go in, Dson-23 will be heading home. Will miss him, used to call on him to take calls on his side of the store.

Happy Birthday Kathryn!

One of my projects for today is making double pot of chili. This morning I asked the butcher to grind up 10 lbs of chili meat for me. Between the meat, sauce & spices it came to about $60. I forgot how expensive beef at the grocery store can be. I don't know why it caught me off guard. ANYway both pots of chili has been made. I'll send one of the pots of chili with DH tonight to church meal. The other pot of chili will be divided up into meal size portions and frozen.

Lilac - I feel your pain on the water system. Yesterday wasn't a fun day to be MPB owner. The fitting at the bottom of the 500 gallon reverse osmosis tank started leaking. The only way to fix (replace) it was to empty out 500 gallons of RO water, do the repairs then to fill the tank again. That meant we had to shut the entire MPB down. Arrrghh! Pumping that water out of the tank only took about an hour but it took until 1:30 this morning for the RO system to fill the tank again. DH got home about 2am.

This evening is LO second time taking Karate & taekwondo lessons. He is enjoying it so far. I had to give him Tylenol after the last class because of sore muscles. I was surprised how much strength building and stretching they do. I didn't know there was so many versions of the splits.

Are you saying you're "kinda nutty", Harmony? I'd duck and run but had more the write first -then I'll do that. Hopefully before Harmony looks in.

Wow! I just set some kind of record -for me. I was doing part of my 'daily' routine -one of which is to work on 'church stuff'. I typed up the entire meeting from Monday night. Still expect an email regarding the Deacons report -which I sort of have already typed. May have to add a few things. Figure if I work a little bit each day on some of these 'nagging' projects, I may have a few done by the time I leave. One thing is to work on all my reports for the Annual Report for church. Would be awfully nice to not have it all to do come Dec/Jan. It would also be a first!

Need to look at my list of 'dailies' and see what else I can accomplish.

Good afternoon everyone and Happy Birthday Kathryn! Did I stick to my plan last night? Noooo. Did I play too much computer Scrabble? Yep. No crisis cleaning or pinning/sewing on the Halloween costume. In honor of anti-procrastination day, I will do some of that today. Not sure how to fit it in though. I have much to do this afternoon: the obvious job search stuff, minutes for the animal org board meeting tonight, and pick up a duplicate receipt for a warranty issue.

Once again, the car is in the shop. Same problem, so it should not be an extra charge. Since I walked back, I can count my exercise as done. Here is a bad sign - when the people at the auto shop greet you by name! Lunch is done. LOLs are washed, dried, and PUT AWAY!!! DPC also done.

Followup to "AM I NUTS" from yesterday: The good news is that two other fosters have volunteered to take the kitten in need. The bad news is we are losing another foster, and her two are adults that she says do not get along with other cats. She keeps the two fosters separated from hers. Another member and I have long wanted to see if they would get on with other cats if they were separated. We wanted to try it for a week, and if it didn't work, they could always return to their previous arrangement. Their foster person wouldn't hear of it. I never understood why she wouldn't try it. No harm could possibly come to the cats, and if it worked, it would make them much easier to place. I guess we will have our chance now. We can ill afford to lose a foster and she also works the Saturday clinics, but she is moving out of town.

Lilac: I learned on the maiden voyage of our camper that all maiden voyages should be to places with lots of people and services. The X wanted to take it to the middle of nowhere, which is exactly where the truck broke down. Nope, no cell coverage. After a several hour wait, the truck started again. I had convinced DD then 5 that a campout in the yard would be lots of fun and wanted to get the broken truck back while we still could. The X was dead set on continuing the original plan, so middle of nowhere it was. Where almost all of our water leaked out. On realizing, we had very little left to drink, we decided to limp back home the next day, praying the whole way that the truck would make it, or at least die where we could find a tow truck. Truck had to go straight to the shop, and the camper needed a complete set of hoses, because the ones that were installed were ALL the wrong size! If I am ever on a maiden voyage in a camper again, it will be to a KOA right in the middle of a large, tow truck and auto shop equipped city.

I am just now coming back in from errands - I realized earlier that I was goofing off too much, and just needed to head out on errands. Didn't even finish with kitchen, and haven't even unloaded the car yet. Got oil changed in car, then walk through Jo Anns, picked up ordered items at Pier 1,bought dog food, liquor store, lunch out, groceries, and picked up meds for dMacs. Along the way I cked in with realtor re dsis' house, and called probate court clerk to be sure ck was rec'd and that process is underway. Also ck-ed in via phone and text with temple secretary - she is out sick today and we had a fire alarm earlier and they left a message for me. I offered to go back to the temple to reset the alarm but I think that she was having the rabbi do it. She is terribly ill and is seeing docs, but getting no where with a bladder infection or issue. I offered to go to the doc with her next time if she needs someone.

Dh and I are supposed to be at nearby restaurant around 6 for dinner w friends and to celebrate their anniversary. I need to get busy once again.
