Today is a music day for me (among other things) and yesterday, by virtue of it being a working Sunday for me was a music day and tomorrow I do the same performance as today for a second time.

So I'm pretty well immersed in music right now!

But we see the difference music makes in the lives of our seniors and how it helps us move when we are housecleaning, and at least in my case, how it helps me stay in one place when ADDing too much.

So I'm declaring today a day for you to enjoy music in some way.

Hum, belt out show tunes, turn on a favourite piece of music, or find a new channel on the radio. The internet has multiple music websites that will stream genres of music all day if you wish.

Put a tune in your heart and go forth to take on the day!

Last night, I thought ds was going to help Easter Seal kids rock climb. This morning, on the news I heard what he's really up to. (And this explains why he needed my bus pass since the climbing gym is in the suburbs with limited bus accessibility.)

He's not dropping off the side of the building (actually I don't know that, I'm just telling myself that!) but since he's trained in rope handling, he'll be there to help those who are doing the drop. It is friggin chilly this morning and currently very windy so I hope the event goes on. Either way, he's not on his own but surrounded by people with great attitudes and helping others so I'm quite happy. As a mom, there's nothing I can do for him right now but say I love you and hand out hugs. Friends (and strangers) will help him get through this.

My day is busy and I'm slow moving. I have ironing to do before we can head out because our choice of clothes for today need ironing. And I have some paperwork issues that need to be addressed.

In my cleanup of paperwork yesterday, a sort-of organized stash-and-dash, I didn't find any bills to pay. So at least I managed to not mess up there.

And I don't have to plan a dinner for tonight because we are literally singing for our supper and will get a dinner at noon.

Today my eldest daughter achieves her dream. She now has a full time teaching position. She did her student teaching 21 years ago while pg with their 1st child and then decided to be a stay at home mom. 5 children later she tried to get a job but could only be hired as a teacher's aide because of no experience. She decided to go back to school while being an aide to get a Master's degree in Reading.

This job came out of the blue and she started this morning. Her father and I sent flowers to her classroom. I hope it is ok and that she enjoys them.

I actually slept in the bed until about 3 this morning. Heard DH get up around 5:30 with a crash. He tripped over the dog (black dog/no lights = bad situation) fell and broke my collapsible laundry basket full of clothes. I'm glad he fell in that as he could have hit the closet door.

Time to find some breakfast and get moving for the day.

Hi everyone! I'm popping in for a sec. I miss you all. . I think I have a more normal week this week. I hope those are not famous last words. LOL! I clocked my time spent on payroll and time spent on moms group last week, and the total between those 2 commitments was 39 hours. That doesn't include transportation time, of course. SO, those 2 commitments were basically equivalent to a full time job last week.

This week, I don't have extra meetings on the calendar (so far) - except for fitting some random band students into their marching uniforms tomorrow a.m. during lunch hour. I also am not teaching at moms group! I'm hoping prep time for work will get less as well.

Congratulations to your DD, MT! That is really impressive! I can relate a bit as it took me a while to get back into the classroom after spending 16 years out of it. Sending the flowers was very thoughtful.
That's a wonderfully creative way to earn money for charities, Kathryn.

So far today, I've gotten up, fed g. pigs, made some li&ts, and gone for a jog.

- dinner: simple pasta w/ homemade tom. sauce, salad, rolls

Hmm... that is a short list, but most items involve several smaller tasks and an hour + time.

Next: a.m. routine tackle.

MT... how wonderful for your dd. Reading teachers are in high demand.
As a late bloomer myself...I didn't step foot into my first classroom till I was 42...I know she will be able to bring in her life experiences. Will go far when working with kids. Yeah....Good for her

Kathryn... Its a turn it up music for me day as well......Well I got my morning started early as planned. Need to do a few desk things and then can finish up my house blessing. Am shooting for complettion by 11:00. Then would like to work on my closet and be able to make a g will run by 1:00. I also need to stop at w mart and pet smart. Its a big list so I need to get going.

In the meantime a friend sent me this site...it will suck up your time, but there are so many interesting crafts and such you could get lost for hours. There's a little bit for everyone here in the village. I only spent a few minutes there this morning...but oh my it took all my will power to move on.

Oh, MT! Glad your dh was okay! I've been there with the black dog/no lights. We have enough ambient light that I can usually "see" the dogs once my eyes are adjusted, but I still get surprised sometimes. And congrats to DD!

Thinking about Harmony's cleaning yesterday - I do see cleaning schedules online where one does all the dusting one day, vacuuming another, etc. to spread cleaning out over several days instead of having one heavy cleaning day on the BWP.

Dh got in around 6:30 and was exhausted - was up late on Sat night and then the drive home yesterday, and he got a speeding ticket. He asked me not to tell dd, who got the big speeding ticket last year. (For the record, she was going 26 miles over speed limit, while he was going "only" 22. Probably difference is that he didn't know what the speed limit was because it had changed, and she probably did because it's a constant.)

Lots on the list for today - beginning to feel the stress of needing to get things done (that's probably a good thing, actually.) I didn't finish with the refrigerator cleaning yesterday, but still can say I was surprised when I opened it later and it was so clean and empty!

Good news for me this morning: I found my Gefilte fish recipe in Evernote. Silly me was looking for the paper recipe, and I had scanned it to Evernote four years ago (probably the last time I used it - just after Rosh Hashanah.)

Good morning. Well, the morning is fast going by but I've been stuck in the computer taking care of problems. Bunches of emails / pictures sent again and copies of those sent to the customer who I previously sent them to...but she either lost them or ???

Had to straighten out our cell phones and re-register and apparently doing it this way we've cut out the dealer and saved each of us $4.00 a month. Good. The dealers could never help us with phones or anything when we asked, anyway. So.

Congrats to MT's daughter for not letting go of her dream. I so wish I had done the same.

Kathryn, when I saw that picture, I immediately thought of Spider Man... and I'm so glad I have girls who don't think about doing such things.

About the cleaning done in spurts... my problem I guess is that I can't bring myself to just do a weekly home blessing, hitting the middles of things. Just seems so incomplete. So when I get to cleaning I'm usually moving furniture around, wiping baseboards, all kinds of things that should be relegated to focus times. I have it all set up in my Household Notebook with focus times, etc., but I'm bad about following that schedule. I need to try it consistently and see how it goes.

Need to go to Pharmacy today. Hoping nothing else pressing is needing done.

Done, finally with that round, and coming back through. The rabbi also came by here to apologize for the alarm issue yesterday, when he turned it on not knowing there was someone in the building, and I had to make a trip to temple to ck it out. That was nice of him to do - I was walking dMacs and he had decided to lie down in the grass and enjoy the day for awhile instead of walking. I do want to feel that when Macs finally goes, I can look back and say that I know he enjoyed his last weeks/months/whatever it is.

So....it looks like the priorities here are to get groceries for holiday cooking, get pumpkins/mums, decorate front porch etc, bake a double batch of cookies (for temple and for here) and get the judaica case (which dh likes in new location) back together. Also continue w house routines....

So at this point it's off to scout for mums, pumpkins etc. and get groceries - maybe two trips, maybe one. Side list of additional stuff/errands that I may be able to get at grocery, Lowes or elsewhere along the way.

I am counting my blessings. Over and over to keep my mind focused on positive things.

I've been in tears already this morning over lack of process on LO bandage. It is ALMOST done, but this last little bit seems impossible. Taking him back for another surgery is NOT something I want to do. especially after the horrible reaction with the anesthesia at the last one. ***taking a deep breathe*** and going to try again.

I'd so like to get mums for here, Twins, but manage to talk myself out of it -as I'm leaving in little over 3 weeks !

When I read the first part of that I thought, "OH NO!" Other than pride and maybe a little sore, so glad that he didn't break anything else. I've done that too -falling over a black lab in our other camper. Luckily the desk & chair broke my fall but I was plenty black & blue & sore!

MT, proud of your dd -good for her! My dd is almost looking forward to the day she can retire -not for several years yet. But she reminds me she's older than I (would like to) think.

Dh and I went to our storage unit for the suitcases today. Moved 2 or 3 things to the front of it that he will need to bring when he gets the truck to drive to FL. In the process we moved out a lot of stuff that we know we can take to G oodwill. I sorted it into plastic bags and listed everything back here -it's now in the back seat of my car awaiting my next trip to one of 2 towns. Brought just a few clothes down that I had figured on taking to FL -still in debate over those. Brought another duffel bag for dh's last minute clothes for him to bring -or whatever.

My tummy is in a big snit over this weekend as well, Kathryn. Hoping all that went into that will turn around (sooner than later) so I can relax. I'm purposely trying to not let myself think on details. Dh is working on the situation trying to keep me out of it. I'm sorry I just can't say more than that. Hopefully this little black cloud will blow over -or maybe it's not so little.

DD has jury duty today. She's hoping that's the end of it. But it was a day of meetings so she's almost glad not to have those.

Living room is beginning to look ready to go somewhere. I emptied our clothes racks of clothes I want to take with us -last night. Now to do our drawers. When I get at least 2 of our suitcases packed going to have dh just put them in the trunk. Don't think it'll be that much extra weight to carry around for the next couple of weeks.

Thursday nights this summer a bunch of us worked a hamburg/hot dog stand for classic car shows (here). We took some of the proceeds from 50/50 raffles and are all going out to dinner Wednesday night. Going to my favorite spaghetti place actually. Yum! Wish I had their recipe.

Been resting my back here -but it's way past time for lunch. Better look and see what we have. Beginning to send food things to 2 DS's homes. Things I know we won't use.

Tonight is our last pot luck so need to get a dish made for that as well. Have cool whip thawing for that. Kinda glad there are no more. Not my favorite as it's usually "carb night". I try to bring something that's NOT carb laden.
