Don't Freak Out Friday

Back from the pool.

I did the Heart Institute recommended "Young at Heart" aquatic class since it is the easiest of them all and started at 10. With aquafit your head doesn't go in the water so I figured it wouldn't make me sicker, nor would I be spreading germs if I have any. I feel fine now, whatever I have comes and goes through the day.

Got there early enough to swim for 15 minutes before class, then the class and then s2s. More people there when you go for a class so more people in the change room after but it was still manageable.

I'm home now, had breakfast at noon and am hungry enough to have lunch now too! Will make up some eggs, I think.

Am a bit sore from all the stretching (the class was mostly stretching, little cardio at all so I'm glad I had the swim before it.)

I'm thinking the news reports I'm noticing now were after LadyM's area's scare, and they say turns out there will be no threat there after all. Hope that's the same situation and that's all there is to it.

BookSaver and LadyM have had me giggling. Well, I'll have to give BookSaver the credit for getting me tickled, but then LadyM got the LOL. Ahem.

I am on a roller-coaster ride of emotion/anticipation with weekend plans. I have a post written that I never posted because things changed in the meantime. And then may have changed again. Lost story short, dd34's family MAY have to stay home with sickness. Trying to determine now... ...

Earlier HRH and I made a strenuous trip together to a new phenomenon from far, far away. A new grocery store has opened, the first from an important chain elsewhere, and we thought we'd wait a while - not show up so near opening day, of course. Well, it is still a madhouse there. Parking was sprawling out into lots that haven't been full or hardly used, even at holidays. This is a remarkably "full service" grocery store - more so than any I've ever heard of in my life. We were escorted and fussed over to the point of distraction. Twice upon asking where certain products might be, I spent 5 minutes nodding and trying to get away from over-zealous employees who were frantic to please me, two at a time. HRH wouldn't ask anybody anything after seeing me trying to get away.

But he couldn't avoid the check-out attention, LOL. Cashiers come AROUND to your cart to unload groceries for you and then a bagger comes up for an introduction like a waiter. "I'm Jonathan, and I will be your bagger today." And do you think you are going to get a cart back? Oh no, you're not. EVERY customer's bagger wheels the groceries to the vehicles. You can't outrun them. So of course HRH is going to tip. Well, no they don't take tips. Oh yes, from me you do. Oh, no I couldn't possibly. Oh but you must... and so forth, and so on. They had to agree that the tip would go to bagger's fav charity before HRH would get back in the truck.

As we left, he said, "They can't come to (our state) and start having a fellow push a cart for another MAN and not get a tip." Also, HRH did have to mention to a manager (who was frantically trying to find a product for me) that he noticed there was no Krispy Kreme doughnut rack. Tsk, tsk, tsk. HRH said, "Around here, we hold the grocery store walls up with Krispy Kreme, or else they'll fall right down."

argghhh......WHAT is going on with my washing appliances woe's?
Washer/dryers are not suppose to be taking up so much of my time and attention.

I was promised a tracking # yesterday when the appliances left the factory. Now I'm told they are sitting in a trailer waiting for a truck to pick the trailer up. They consider that "shipped" status because they are in the trailer (which is sitting in the factory parking lot). But no tracking # is available until the truck hooks onto the trailer. After 12 days of purchase......washer/dryer are still at the factory and I still don't have a date when they will arrive here.

I agree, the washer/dryer situation is just beyond frustrating for you, LadyM. You definitely have earned the right to freak out. A MOUSE IN THE WASHER WITH THE FRESHLY WASHED CLOTHES??? Oh my goodness, yes... I'd be freaking out all over the place. Baby snakes that go AWOL are kind of freaking-out worthy, also.

Bug lady came and sprayed our house... always enjoy visiting with her.

I walked 2 miles and now I'm s2s and waiting till it's time for my supper, so I can eat before dgs arrives. He and I will be home alone while the others go to high school football game tonight.

Tomorrow, college football, and dh & dbil have agreed to leave @ 8:00 a.m. Ugh. I think that is going to put us there waaay too early, but dh said, "He agreed to let me drive, so I wasn't going to argue the time with him." DH would have wanted to leave by 9:00 a.m., anyway.

I've seen movie previews for Into the Woods, BookSaver. Meryl Streep & Johnny Depp... I forget who else... it looks good.

As usual for the day after a long trip to see dsis I am not worth a dime today. I made it to the meeting right on time this morning, and the cleaning lady was doing her magic when I left home. I came home to chili for lunch and then napped.I am just feeling wiped out.

The trip went really well - dmom handled it beautifully, thanked me repeatedly, and had a very good time. The only part of the day when I was losing it was when we went to Subway for ice cream. Mother needs help finding doors, the right direction to go and can't hear audio cues so it's hard to get dsis and her going in the same direction. Dsis is okay, said she feels good and she is walking well. Said she had lost more weight and she has trouble eating because of a tremor at times.

Rec'd court order in the mail today to sell dsis' house - realtor called and the buyer still hasn't given them proof he has cash to close but is still talking as though it's all happening so they have set closing date for a week from Monday and are proceeding as tho everything is on track.

DH gets home tonight 9:45 pm and I will go to pick him up at the airport. We have storms right now - hoping that he's not delayed late.

LM, it's hard for me to believe you're going this long w/o a dryer - at least you can count on being able to hang your clothes out? (Silver lining to the drought?) Glad that dnephew's loss wasn't as bad as originally feared, although it sounds bad enough as is.

Harriet, does the new grocer start with P ublix? We have one recently opened and I love it, but they do ask often if one is finding everything or needs some help. But.....they are heads and shoulders above the other stores here. I was driving out of the way to go to one in the opposite direction before, even tho there's a grocery basically at the bottom of our hill already. Here's hoping that the family can visit as planned.

WOuld like to write more but can't take dMacs upset so with the storm so I"ll go sit with him....

Not freaking out...yeah, I spend my life trying not to be in that mode all the time... and I so often am feeling on the "edge" of being able to cope. I so wish I had been born with a more laid-back personality. I know DH wishes that....

Yesterday was the funeral luncheon and it was an all afternoon job with one bank and store stop on the way, and two store stops on the way home after dropping all the leftovers at the homeless coalition. Had never been there, now I know where it is.

Today is massive paper chase, putting away, finding, emailing, scanning....and oh yes where is the paper just laying here that I put those dots on.... never mind I'll make more dots. Shaking my head.

Loved the hay story where everybody helped. Also the "Babe" story. Yuck on the mouse in the washer. shudder.. Twins, hope the house closes.

Going to heat up the leftovers now.

There I feel like I've accomplished something! Just finished cleaning out the linen closet. Threw out some things, put a bunch of supplements in a bag to take with me -if I don't use them this winter, they're going via the trash can as well. Cleared out a lot of space. Then I proceeded to the 'washer' closet. We've put 2 shelves on the top & I cleaned/cleared those as well as some things toward the floor. Lot of the 'stuff' going with me will not be coming back. At least if something happens that dh ends up not driving the camper's truck back, there should be room enough in the car (I almost called it MY car -well it almost is! At least my name is on the title now. Dh never realized that we haven't had that before. He probably doesn't even remember that in earlier years he really didn't want my name on a vehicle. He has no idea why now. )

Now I have a little momentum going -perhaps I'll look for another project. If I could just get some of this stuff in the car, I'd feel so much better.

Have some things that dh brought from DS-A's house that need to go under our bed. We moved them to the deck box a few weeks ago and there they sit. I can't lift the bed, try as I might, so they're waiting for dh to put the bed up for me. I may ask him when he stops in to take a minute to do that. I have a few other things to go under there as well. Also want to make sure there's nothing else under there that I need to take to FL. I remembered a crystal night light in the storage unit today that I want dh to get for me. Decided I could use it at DD's. I think I bought this years ago at a P arty L ite demo and I still love it. I realized I saw the box when we were up there, but until I glanced on here on what is in that box, it just didn't dawn on me.

DD called me earlier. She went on our fire department's site in some spare moments. Think she was planning to look to see if dh possibly got a life saving award last night (not). But when she put in the site -it's been hacked and was porn. She instantly called a dfriend. They'd just found out about it (he's Chief) and were working to see if they could first close it down and then go from there. So they not only have to fight physical fires, MVA's, sick people -but other REALLY sick people.

Several people here today cleaning out dneighbor's motorhome. Dh and helper took up the deck and edged it. Not sure what they're doing with the motorhome (this is our dfriend whom they found deceased a couple of weeks ago.) Guess his brother is taking the new jeep he had just bought that week. Sadly the brother seems to have declined in just those couple of weeks. He also has Huntington's disease. The friend who died, actually was only 66 when everybody here thought he was at least 80 or more.

I got the church council minutes sent off for a second time. Realized that I had sent them to the church's web site. Secretary shot me an email to let me know she got it this time.

Dh called to say he'd be late as someone else had stopped him and asked him to winterize their RV today. There are a lot of campers here doing just that or cleaning out to close up for the, dare I say it......winter.

I wanted to ask the same thing, Twins. Know they are extremely helpful when I'm in FL and always at least offer to take my groceries to the car -NO tipping allowed, Harriet. It's funny because they and the big market up here which begins with W egmans, have an agreement. One will stay north of a certain point on the map and the other south of it. As I understand it, lots of P ublix managers, etc have come north to train at W egmans. But I do find the southern one to be extremely ready to help and go out of their way. I suppose they do here too, I just do more shopping at the super market in FL than here. Though I do love my W egmans

I love when a theme makes me smile, & Don't Freak Out Friday does just that!

I'm not freaking out over where to put the basement furniture we want to keep, while the renovation is being done. Since a new floor is part of the plan, there can't be anything on the old floor! Where, oh where, am I going to cram all this stuff? Our storage areas are almost full with boxes & there is no room for pantry cabinets & bookcases. (Oh no! I just realized that in order to move the pantry cabinets I will have to remove everything in them first -- & where will I put all THAT stuff? Not freaking out ... not freaking out...)

But -- I am freaking out about Lady M's mouse in her washing machine Aaaaaaack!

((Harriet)) -- so sorry about your hot dog reaction, & all the stress surrounding upcoming visit. I hope your dd & family are well enough to come. (Did the swelling go down?)

Glad you had such a nice day out with dmom & dsis, Twins. Fingers crossed for you that house sale goes smoothly on Monday.

((Harmony)), is it possible to hire some part time help for YOU? Dh has helpers with the construction work, but you put in the time & work of at least two people in keeping the administrative side of the businesss running. Or maybe some housekeeping help to free up more of your time?

I forgot to work with LO on his spelling words this week ......and he still made a 100! Since he does so well with 3x5" cards (AM and PM) maybe he would do well with using cards for his homework? Hum.....thinking......now that he is able to read (sorta) maybe we could make cards so the responsibility of doing his homework is his. The most time consuming part of his homework is reading 2-3 books a night and then telling what he read in his own words. I have to sign his homework folder each night so I will still need to be 100% involved but I think we can start the process to move the responsibility to him for study spelling words and doing his daily homework. Baby stepping this process ....
