We got back from San Jose yesterday about 1:00 pm, then hosted Pizza/Wings/Baseball night. I was so dead tired I fell asleep in my chair! I can't believe I did that just when the Giants came alive and beat the Royals handily. Lucylee, your DH is right. I think these two teams are very evenly matched. I hope tonight's game goes "swimmingly" for us. The two "hotshots" are pitching - our Bumgarner and Royal's Shields. Exciting stuff going on. We really really want to go back to KC ahead by one, because we won't be coming back to SF. Did anyone watch last night when Carlos Santana played the Anthem? I love him! He is the greatest and lives right near the City in Marin. Then, of course, Steve Perry of Journey did his thing as he has been doing at the 8th inning. I can hardly wait now for Spring Training in March in AZ. I love my Giants! :D

Sharks lost on Thursday night. So, I won't go into that. I think it is 4 losses in a row now.

Hope you are all having a fine Sunday. Kathryn glad you are feeling better and hope it stays that way. CathyS, you do sound happy and settled in your new life. I am hoping for the best for you and "your Wayne". (Mr. Guy is "my Wayne.)

Back home. Sundays sure are long days!

My service went well. In particular the granddaughter of one of my seniors spent time talking with me afterwards and praising my sermon.

I made sure we did coffee hour after church (for the past few services, dh and I have had to leave immediately after service.) We stayed for almost an extra hour, the first 30 minutes with the seniors who came down for tea, coffee, juice and cookies (always there on Sunday afternoons for both after service and any family visiting), the second 30 with my contact there. She was impressed to find us having coffee hour. She doesn't normally work Sundays but was in because it was photo day (they make a photo directory with a professional photographer, plus it allows the residents to order pictures if they want to send some for Christmas gifts. She was working over at their new residence about 10 minutes away, as well, which tells me that she is working closely with staff there and I'll hopefully get recommended when they start to do services as well.

After that we went to the Chinese grocery store but they didn't have dh's drinks. There was a big Asian superstore that opened to much fanfare a few years ago nearish to dd's so I called her to see if they were up for a visit and she gave me the address of the store from the internet. Turns out the store is out of business (but website was still up) but we had a nice evening with dd and dsil. We don't see him often so I was glad he chose to come to dinner with us. Some laughs which are really good to have.

We are home now. I had a funny moment as we pulled into the garage when dh said, "We should put the snow tires on soon." I felt a panic and thought "OMG, I have no idea where the snow tires are, I haven't seen them since the move!" then realized they are on a rack in the parking spot!

I'm on the treadmill now. I got about half my writing done in the car and hope to get it finished before bed. It seems like 10 p.m. to me but I have to stay up at least another 2 hours (90 minutes until I take the pill and then another half hour after that for my tummy to settle.

Tummy was pretty good today but I was easy on it today. Got really uncomfortable/hungry during morning church, the tea settled me down and I had yogurt and a glass of milk then. The yogurt or milk upset my tummy so I sensibly skipped chili for lunch and had a BLT but it remained touchy until more tea after my service. Had a cheeseburger at the restaurant tonight so because of iron and calcium in the meal I'm waiting 3 hours before having the pill.

Did my calendar for the week, worked on a story, will clean my office tonight/or in the a.m. & sold 2 stories today. Contracts are ready to ship back.

I did light housework, redecorating, race-walking, yoga, & plan to write 2 letters this evening & crochet after dinner, while we watch The World Series & TV shows.

Tomorrow's DH's 73rd b-day, we celebrated on Friday, but his buddy's taking him out for Mexican food at noon. The kids call him, too. DD gave him an Applebee's gift card, which we redeemed on Friday. Dson hasn't done his gift yet, but DGD & Ddil aren't feeling well. (Sometimes they're later.)

I did my p.m. routine early, except for flossing & medications, of course, as it's too early for that. DH & I compared notes, asking each other what he set his alarm for & what time I set my dawn simulator, which were the SAME EXACT TIMES!  At least we're on the same wave-lengths.

I had a little nap, did some reading on 3 books, & enjoyed the day today. Sunny, too, here, but another big storm comes in tomorrow night, from Hurricane Ana, but NOT as bad as last night's storm. Wowie-Zowie!

Have a great night! I've turned my desk calendar around & put up my "Monday Mojo!" display office card. ;)

Took my pill and am now in waiting period. I need to do physio for my knees but I can't lie down after taking the pill for at least 10 minutes and I'd like to make that a bit longer. I might settle in the recliner though and ice them for a bit.

I'm exhausted and ready for bed. Aside from swimming for 30 minutes, I also managed over 10K steps today. I'm starting to use the treadmill more when I'm surfing the internet so that's really helping get my step count up.

News here is that yesterday HRH sat with (on a lawn chair outside the people door) one of the New Hampshires who wouldn't leave with the other hens for bug-chasing time. He was right to suspect a happy event was imminent. She finally got up and turned around and they both looked at the first egg. Cool.

Hello, villagers ~
We went up to visit DMIL today to hear from her about what her new apartment will be like. She doesn't sound like she wants to move there, but she is resigned that it is the right decision. It is helping her a lot to know that everyone agrees that nothing will be done with the house until next spring. If she decides in January that she has enough room for more of her things, someone will fetch them for her.

She told us about some of the things she's taking with her, and mentioned to me that she is glad she will have room for her sewing machine. She can't knit any more, but she still enjoys sewing nylon net dish scrubbies, and she is looking forward to making some of those right away after the move.

She was in the mood to go through shelves & drawers and give things away. That is not why we went there today, we wanted to visit with her in a quiet zone before all of the chaos and crowd next weekend. However, as I told DH, even though I don't need or want most of the yarn, magazines, and craft stuff she handed to me, I thought she was doing so well at letting things go that it was better to just put it all in our car and I will decide tomorrow how much will actually come into our house.

Saturday the 1st is her official move-in day. Hopefully there will be enough strong backs to move her bedroom furniture and such without injury. Waiting to hear how many of the younger generation can help.

DMIL has inspired me to continue decluttering our house. She's been in her house since 1961. If she can go through and get rid of stuff that's been accumulating for over 50 years, then I can go through what we've been accumulating here for 20. :)

Had a good healthy dinner. DH ran the DW after dinner. We watched the Giants win again. Now an Alaska show is on. I wrote 1 letter; have 1 to go. Might send DD & Ddil a card, but not sure if I'll get to it tonight. Had a migraine, NEVER have them & HAVE NOT since 2005! Don't know why I did. It's beyond me. Anyway, that's over, which is nice. Ddil & Dcousin-in-law are plagued with them lately. I dunno if stress causes it, or bright lights, or exactly what. It was NOT "fun".

Have a good night, Everybody! Just a quickie C. I. now. Goodnight!
