It's all good, Norma! At least our Auburn boy is finally on a World Series team. Wish it could have happened for him in Atlanta, but glad he's a part of it wherever he has to be.

Did my errands, dgs arrived, dgs agreed he wanted supper... heated up his toddler meal... dgs says "no, no want to eat"

Good luck to Kathryn's ds!
Tomorrow is another day.

Ack! A rocket on the way to intl. Space station with no people on board exploded. Quite the videos on CNN now.

Grands were only here 20 min. or so caught up on bits of their news.

I would love to see all of them have a chance to play if it works out. Mr. Guy just said he may go with Hudson. Bochy has a lot of options on these last 2 (if the second is needed). It will be interesting to see what happens. Our bull pen is spectacular and they are all rested. Lets go Giants, Lets go Giants.
(The really nice thing is our Ace will be rested and could go if needed.)

Twins'Mom ~ Craisins, yum! I have used a dried berry mix from Aldi in the past but you're right, 'tis the season to find Craisins more readily available.

Harriet ~ I have never seen frozen wild blueberries here, only the regular blueberries. I will start on a quest for the tiny wild ones. :) Have not seen stevia either, but I do have honey.

Right, I just need to get in the habit of leaving the 1/3 cup measuring cup in the box of instant oatmeal, then it will be just as convenient as opening a paper packet.

The rocket crash was impressive. Reminds me a bit of how this day didn't turn out as I expected!

On the plus side, I spent time with both my kids today. And I saw a movie that I've been waiting ages to see.

My evening ta-dahs.

7 - 8 finished writing my article for the Christmas newsletter. Will need some editing along with the other two but it is done. Did that while walking 1.4 miles on the treadmill.

8 - 9 cleaned up the kitchen, started a load of laundry

9 - 10 flipped laundry (obviously not a big achievement) and if I hurry, fold it and put it away!

Off to bed after the laundry is put away. See you all in the morning.

:) I'm doing a happy dance. :) DH's DNiece has replied that yes, their elder DD would like to have the big sewing basket from DMIL. That is perfect because as I said before, to me it's just a very nice useful basket. For DGreatNiece, there are her Mom & Dad's stories attached to it as well as being something handed down from her GreatGrandmother.

I'm so glad that I sent the Email today asking about it. I would have felt horrible if I had learned later that I was keeping something that someone else in the family really wanted.

Best wishes to ds, Kathryn

Congrats to your menfolk, Sadie.

Nancy I totally agree about the scary commercials you mentioned, btw. Who needs it.

BookSaver, any favorite berries would work. Having the frozen blueberries on hand is just a lickety-split convenience, and they say the wild ones are so good for the brain! :ugeek: I get mine at Earth Fare, in case you every shop at those.

Sewing baskets - happy for BookSaver and niece. I know that I treasure my grandmother's.

Well, our dd has been deemed "marketable to potential employers", much to her Daddy's suspicion. (He says, "Let them take a look at her room.") A long day of a mini-course in customer service, financial literacy, and job performance. They tell her she should immediately update her resume to include the certificate. (Her days-old resume :) )

lucylee, she was told she looked fine BUT "low black flats" next time. Also a skirt that matches the jacket is better. Complimented on no visible tattoos or body piercings. They said they were impressed she brought her sketchbook since she mentioned sketching in her resume, but then nobody ever looked at it. :|

The school office (or possibly Student Services) was supposed to inform teachers in advance that this was an excused absence. But somehow that didn't happen. I started getting emails from teachers before the school day ended, and an automated absence message tonight. So that will be a mess to correct for the participating students. French teacher (fresh from France) is so responsible, he emailed a complete explanation of the lesson she missed, and very detailed homework. He probably thinks she's sick.

Congratulations to Kathryn's ds!

And congratulations to Harriet's dd AND Harriet -- dd for being "marketable" and Harriet for proving Mother knows best, in re: to shoes.

In re: to baseball... well... THAT didn't go the way we planned, did it, Norma? * whew * Well... we'll get 'em tomorrow night.

Also sending a big WTG to the men in Sadie's household.

And also glad to see that the sewing basket is going to dniece who will treasure it, BookSaver.

(((HUGS))) for dgd, Nancy! Halloween will soon be over, thank goodness.

Dmom was telling me tonight about another treasure she had unearthed in her closet decluttering. Embroidered, decorative pIllowcase souvenir from WWII... a gift to dgmother (dmom's mother) from a boyfriend who was lost at sea. His body was never recovered. It is such a horrible, tragic story. DGM was very stoic about it by the time I knew her... said "It probably wouldn't have worked out... he drank... sometimes the Lord just takes care of things..." But as dmom said, you don't keep a pillowcase for over 50 years for no reason.
And of course, dmom went into HER story of the dfriend who she had her life planned with, to be missionaries, before his tragic death at 15... and again, how God probably never had it in his plan for her to be married to begin with... but -- as I've said before, she left her suds in the bucket and ran off with my dad at 16.
Life can take strange paths. I'm sure my brother, ds, and I are very glad dgm and dmom DID end up with the men they got. My dgfather walked on water... ;) and without ddad, I'd be a totally different person... although he was far from perfect, I have to admit. And I bet I inherited the OCD and anxiety problems from HIS side of the family, to be honest.

Oh well... anyway, dmom sounded good. Neurologist found nothing at all abnormal with her brain scans, and said if she has trouble "retrieving" information at times, and focusing, that is to be expected, and could be a side effect of her pain med -- BUT, pain itself would be/is a great distractor from mental focus as well, so he advised her to continue with the meds. And also said she performed better than last year on the memory test he gives, so that was reassuring.

It is sad about the rocket -- thankful that no one was on board, but as Harriet said, it must be terribly disappointing and frustrating to those on the space station awaiting supplies.
I cannot imagine being on the space station. I cannot even imagine myself being able to do something like that.
Tomorrow is another day.
