Are we talking like T u m s, RR? Sounds reasonable. I've never had such sore lip and inside the lip and of course it's swollen over my lip. DD noticed that tonight. I'll decide on church tomorrow, depending on how it looks/feels in the morning. Just told dsonil that I'd drive to D unkin and get ground coffee in the morning. Somehow we thought we had another bag -NOT. Told the guys to go to the flea market & I'd run up (about 5 miles) and maybe throw in a dozen donuts. That did it! Been using some L ysine on the lip & just inside my mouth, RR, and that seems to help a lot for an hour or so. Can use it every 2 hours actually.
It's early but going to fall into bed. Going out in an hour or so when the spaghetti sauce cools a little and put it in the fridge overnight. I'll throw it in the crockpot on low in the morning and hope for a good taste in time for dinner. We went to S am's earlier (it was CRAZY!) and got the rest of what we needed for tomorrow night's dinner. Trying not to fuss at all.
Have to get started on packing for our cruise. Pretty much know what we're taking and I've been tossing things into a bin that I don't want to forget -things like band aids, different ointments, q-tips, nail clippers. Things that won't be readily available to buy. Since dd is going we're trying to not double up on some items like hand lotion, etc.
Dee .... Famotidine which is generic for zan tac. It prevents heartburn. Mine is 10 my and you can get it at any drug store. I also have put a real aspirin on a sore on the inside of my lip and let it dissolve some which helped. Stress really seemed to set mine off. I often had a mouth full of sore develop during the end of the school year or right around the time my report cards and sped reports were due. Once I went home to my moms right after the end of the school year and I had some sores that were so bad I couldn't ear my favorite foods ... Hot dogs, pizza or friut... I was so bummed out I almost cried. Didn't know about Sweetie's trick back then.

Maybe keep some alkaline water, for when you feel intake of acidic foods could be affecting you? Dr. Jamie Kaufman, who wrote the Dropping Acid book about acidic foods/drink, recommends some of the alkaline waters available in grocery stores for a lot of worries about acid intake. Here is her short video about alkaline water for reflux, etc. Icelandic Glacial she mentions is more available in my area, though I can also find her favorite, evamor, at one store not that far from me. Both brands have maps for store locations on their sites.
I'll be a Razorback fan tonight, Nancy. I have cousins who live there. We used to LOL b/c my late dgparents always had an Razorback clock hanging on their den wall... nice early American decor... all browns and golds and beiges... my grandmother's thimble collection... and a big ole red Razorback. What's funny is, my grandparents probably could have never told you who either of our state teams were playing on any given Saturday, much less the Razorbacks. LOL... dbro, ds, dh and I have always enjoyed our jokes about that clock.
I have no idea where it is now.
Or my dgmother's thimbles, for that matter.
I feel like I have the flu. All achy and sorta a dull headache. Maybe I just haven't moved around enough today. But I did make two trips to town. Once to CVS and once to get bar-b-que for supper.
Just checking to see if I got my e-mails this morning, and I did, so that's good!
Also have noticed what Harriet mentioned about how ads follow you these days. There will be no surprising dh since we SHARE our computer AND our e-mail address.
* shaking my head * I bet probably less than 1% of the married couples in the world get by on one cell phone and one e-mail address.
I try to keep up with you all from time to time. All is well here. DH and I removed the bathroom vanity today and it is sitting in the kitchen. It will be put back in place after the tile is replaced in that bathroom this coming week. So I guess there will be a dirty, gritty mess to clean up around here. But we have put this off for so long that it's time to git 'er done!
Great to see you again elly, and hear of your progress with vanity unit.
Wishing Harriet was here to enjoy the 40c 104f temps. It looks and feels like we are under the heat that will produce a storm later - probably some where else.
Just begin. Living this day, today Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do. Look for the good in all.
Hi everyone! I have been AWOL for a little while. I am still adjusting to my new work schedule. I have discovered another really great thing about commuting by train/bus. I had to drive on Thursday, to get back for a show (more on that later). It did take less time to drive, but was SO tempting to keep hitting snooze, so I was later than if I had done the usual. Can't hit snooze when you have to catch a train!
And I have passed another parenting milestone: that Thursday show was DD12's first concert. It had an age limit, 13+, so I rounded her age up. It was a band called Dropkick Murphys (we both like) and a venue called Sunshine Theater. Theater to me implied, THEATER, you know, with seats. Since it was a concert venue, I figured there would also be a dance floor and a bar. When we got there, I realized the building had been a theater at some time in the distant past, but now, it was just a stage and a floor! I've been to such venues before, I know the drill, but never with a 12 year old! My usual plan was get to the front and keep hold of the barricade. I decided to keep to that plan, because I could put DD up front grabbing the barricade with me behind holding the barricade and forming a barrier between her and the crowd. It is also where the security people are and she would be able to see. And it kept her out of the mosh pit (no, I wasn't expecting that either). It worked for a while, until some woman behind us started shouting "Take that kid OUT", and pushing DD away and trying to take her place at the front. Security was on her in an instant. I saw a burly guard's back, then other guards dragging DD over the barricade and motioning me to come along. I figured we were getting thrown out, the rules probably said anyone involved in a problem had to go. Instead, they escorted us BACKSTAGE and DD told me that several band members had pointed at her and gestured to where we were standing, next to their instrument handler. Twice during the concert, the singer came back and asked her if she was having fun and gave her knuckles. At one point, during the encore, the band had some audience members come out and dance on the stage. We joined them until it became too crowded and returned to the instrument handler. I began to worry about how we would get out of there when the show was over. When the band left the stage, the singer told me "Stay here, security will come get you", grabbed their playlist and left. A few minutes later, security came, and I figured we would be escorted through the crowd. Nope. Escorted down some stairs, where the singer was busy getting band members to sign the playlist and telling them to get in a photo with us! They gave us drinks (bottled water, same as they were having). We left with the band, out the back door. Security was moving people off the sidewalks who were trying to see them. It seems the singer had a 12yo daughter, a big fan of One Direction and he knew how to make a kid's day.
One of tomorrow's tasks is to print off the photo and go to the framing place with: photo, signed playlist, ad for the show, and three guitar picks grabbed from the stage.
