MOVE IT MONDAY
I'm sure most of us have things which require us to 'move it'. May your day and week be wonderful. I slept very poorly -of course. Was awake a little after 11 and was up and down until nearly 3. At 5 I HAD to get up for a bathroom break. Tried to slip back into bed, but dh reached over and rubbed my back.
I had so hoped for another hour. Well, at least I'm now up, bed made, s2s, rest of packing done, meds done and breakfast eaten. Now will sip my coffee while I wait for everyone else to get ready. Then we'll 'move it'.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
Good morning to Dee, who is already moving! Dee, I told your namesake story to a gentleman at church who was discussing his concerns about news reports on your dson's area, and he was pleased that some forethought had gone into the stadium needs. His wife was just delighted at the story of a son giving his mother's name to a piece of snow-moving equipment. You'll have a ball on your cruise. YOU are not exactly "on the water". No work for you! The crew is on the water, doing all the things that make you forget there is water!
I really want to CUOP from early part of the weekend, but I must focus on getting back to normalcy first.
Today here will be a strange mix - everything is soppy-soggy with the recent rain, and the snow threatens soon. HOWEVER for this one brief shining moment, we will have a brief shining moment, and it will at least look and feel like a beautiful day (unless you step into too many puddles). Dd still must wear a sweatshirt because it is the temp inside the building that matters to her comfort.
School run done.
Morning Dailies up.

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
Have a wonderful trip, Dee!! I look forward to hearing about your adventures!
Good morning Harriet! Enjoy the spot of sunshine! We have none, though temps are quite balmy - for the time being.
Hello blessed! Lovely day to you too!
I bought my turkey yesterday. It was partially frozen, so it is thawing in my fridge. A turkey in my fridge makes me happy.
Yesterday, we went to church and had lunch out. We picked up dd19 en route home. Eventually, someone picked up ds20. I went shopping for dfriend S' birthday and then did a quick run to the groc. store. They didn't have the fresh thyme I need for the turkey, but I found it at WF when ds and I stopped by later to get ice cream for dfriend S' birthday celebration. We spent the evening at S and R's home, celebrating her birthday -- 2 months late, yes. I dropped off ds and dd19 after the celebration and was home around 10 pm.
The fan for the temp. control in my car is broken. I'm hoping we can take it in today to get fixed. I noticed it last night when I was driving around campus dropping off the kids. My car's windshield was fogging up, and I couldn't get it to defog. I had my window open off and on, but since it was raining, that wasn't a great solution. I felt quite unsafe as I really couldn't see well with bad night vision, a foggy windshield, and the rain. . . I managed not to hit any students, so that is good. LOL!
And. . .Maia is limping and not putting much weight on a back leg. She "goes lame" from time to time so we're going to give it 24 hours. I think she is SO energetic and exuberant, she occasionally pulls a muscle or something. A few days later, she is back to bouncing off the walls. She was uber-excited yesterday when ds and dd19 showed up, so maybe she hurt something in her happy frenzy.
On to today. . . .
Done:
- up
- fed dcat
- water for g. pigs
- unloaded top rack of dw
- a little put away
- groc. list for today is started
I think this will be a normal-ish day! Work will be low-key because we have these 2 odd school days (today and tomorrow) after we've already submitted grades. Maybe half the class will show up today? Not sure. Last session, 6 out of 13 students showed up on the corresponding day, and then 3 left during the break halfway through the class. I need to have something ready to do (I have several things in mind. . .) with them, but it will be low-key. No meetings/appointments this morning! Yay! I hope to go to the groc. store this morning and make it to the gym, either late this afternoon or this evening.
Ds and dd19 will be coming home for Thanksgiving Wednesday evening. They still have classes all day Wednesday. Someone (dh?) is making a mental list of movies to see during the holidays. We've agreed we'll go see the Big 6 Hero movie as a family over Tgiving break.
ToDo:
- a.m. routine
- menu plan and groc. list
- take car to mechanic?
- take dh to work - if my car is in the garage
- figure out specifically what I'm doing with the class today
- email TB re: if check ever arrived
- order something for ddad's birthday
- groc. store
- bank
- work
- copy lesson plans after work (these need to be on file)
- pick up dd19 at 4:30; she's going to borrow a car so she can go tutor in Detroit with the church youth group
- simple dinner: pasta w/ homemade tom. sauce, salad, bread
- fetch car; our mechanic is within walking distance
- fetch dh from work
- dd16 has an orchestra concert tonight, but she has told us not to go. First 2 chairs of each band instrument are required to be a part of the corresponding level orchestra, but it's not her main commitment. We will go to the band concert.
I have some projects I'd like to work on over the break. Maybe I'll have time to get started today?

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
So excited for Dee getting to cruise. I can't think of a more relaxing way to enjoy Thanksgiving. I know you'll miss the family who isn't there but you'll get to be completely focused on giving thanks, rather than timing a turkey!
I'm up and moving. Today is the first day of a new week, also the first day of my new, revamped, SHE card system. I rewrote it all when away last week, now to actually do the work! (In fact, I'm a bit ahead on some things because I had to change things like towels and sheets early due to travel throwing off the system.)

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
Good morning, villagers ~
DH is taking a vacation day today. He will get Thursday and Friday off for Thanksgiving (holiday pay for Thursday, personal day for Friday), and then he's taking another vacation day next Monday.
I hope he has a project in mind to keep him busy for that many days off. Thursday will be filled with family, of course, but I'm going to have to make a plan for myself for those next 4 days. I can't just hang around all the time waiting to see what he wants to do.
Yesterday the temperature was so warm that I had to zip the lining out of my winter coat. It rained all day. Today we're back to freezing and have already had at least an inch of snow. Crazy.
Yesterday I went to the big sale at the fabric store in neighboring Tiny Town. I found some textured knit fabric that I hope will work to mend my newer winter coat. The coat is loose around my hips, yet still for some reason the side seams have split and the fabric is fraying. I think that if I try to just sew the side seams back, that will make it fit too snugly, especially when I'm wearing a heavy sweater. I'm going to try to secure the outer fabric to the lining on the inside, and then use the new fabric to make a decorative band to cover the outside. If I also sew decorative bands on the sleeves, I'm hoping it will look like the coat was designed that way.
Last night DH wanted to get out of the house, so we drove to The Big City for a quick supper and then to the grocery store. We picked up the week's requested items for the food drive at his work, and the last of the food we need for Thanksgiving. At least, I hope I didn't forget anything.
I must try to get to The Big City for a haircut tomorrow. That's the problem with changing to short hair, now it needs a lot more maintenance and it's really obvious when it needs a trim.
Today's goals:
* Emails for the sewing group
* Figure out what I'm going to wear to the family gathering on Thanksgiving.
* Set goals for the rest of the year, or 2015 will be here before I accomplish anything.
* Make menu plans for the rest of the year, which sounds like a long time but in fact is only 6 weeks.
* Download the tax forms for the library group; we are a tax-exempt group but must file a report which is due December 15th. Take a quick look to see if I need to request information from anyone else to fill out the forms.
* Drink more water!

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
I'm on a short break.
I'm s2s and using my watch to keep me on 15s. The dusting is taking far longer than I anticipated. I figured about minutes per room, tops (actually, I was thinking that was way too much.) That number is fine when I'm swishing through with the feather duster but when I have a damp cloth, it takes much, much, longer.
I also did a few little things that needed doing - put felt behind a chair in the hall that was rubbing on the wall (and cleaned off the marks), put the cardboard back between the cds (we have them on a book shelf in two layers and the cardboard is in between to keep the upper cds from falling in to the spot of the lower ones when you pull one out) and found a tin to hold all the whiteboard accessories to keep those neater. The whiteboard isn't up on the wall here but dh props it on a low filing cabinet and uses it that way. In the old office it was on the wall but I had a large calendar that was attached by magnets so it looked prettier (since I could see it from the kitchen.)
The weather is warm here and the mist from the river is beautiful. It is a very dramatic grey on grey view (no sun for us, but the rain has stopped for a while.)
Nancy: sorry you aren't feeling well.

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
Yesterday I also stopped in the dollar store next door to the fabric shop. I was looking for disposable dishes for a hostess gift for DSis. I found a set of 4 nice size for leftovers (24oz.) with lids, freezer/dishwasher/microwave, BPA free, made in USA, $2.33 including tax.
What a deal! I probably should have bought more than 1 set.
Sunny ~ I just saw your Spinach Soup recipe in the Kitchen section. It looks yummy. That's 1 thing I forgot at the store last night, they had frozen spinach in their ad but by the time we got to the frozen foods section in the store DH was impatient to be out and I forgot to grab vegetables. I might have to stop tomorrow when I go to The City for my haircut in the same neighborhood.
Nancy ~ Ideas for stocking stuffers: Bookmarks, Chapstick, travel size hand lotion, black or brown ponytail holders, small calendar, post-it notes, book of jokes or history trivia, Nerf ball or squishy stress reliever toy (might not be allowed in jail), mug rugs, pictures of anything colorful? Seems to me like even practical items in either light cheerful colors or soothing calm colors would be nice in a cell.

Re: MOVE IT MONDAY
I hope you don't mind the li$ts. They help me stay focused. And they make me feel like I've accomplished something.
A few more things done:
- up
- fed dcat
- water for g. pigs
- unloaded top rack of dw AND bottom rack
- a little pick up put away
- menu plan and groc. list made
- s2s and self-care
- car to shop; car picked up - fan fixed
- ordered gift for ddad
- emailed TB re: check
ToDo:
- a.m. routine - finish
- figure out specifically what I'm doing with the class today
- groc. store
- bank
- work
- copy lesson plans after work (these need to be on file)
- pick up dd19 at 4:30; she's going to borrow a car so she can go tutor in Detroit with the church youth group
- simple dinner: pasta w/ homemade tom. sauce, salad, bread
- dd16 has an orchestra concert tonight, but she has told us not to go. First 2 chairs of each band instrument are required to be a part of the corresponding level orchestra, but it's not her main commitment. We will go to the band concert.
I'm heading off to the groc. store now. Once home, turnaround time before heading out again for errands and work will be tight, but I think it will be manageable.
