It looks like Twins and I were held up yesterday waiting for phone calls. I try to do that when I am not planning to leave the house but it didn't work that way yesterday. So today I have to go to WM and the grocery store. I have several other errands but I will do them tomorrow. They are errands that don't involve busy stores.

Today is dance day for dgd3. I have done a mani/pedi for her.

23 days until dh's retirement. I don't know if I have mentioned this but in the past I always looked forward to getting back to normal after the Christmas rush. Now I will have to adjust to a new normal.

While we were in the main bath washing dgd3s hands, I commented to her that before long grandpa is tearing everything out of that bathroom and replacing everything. Her comment was "why, it's beautiful the way it is." She IS her mother's daughter!

The insurance gal is suppose to call today. I told her I would be in and out, so if I miss her call, I will call back.

I want to get my ornament boxes out and upstairs in the Raggedy Ann room. I want dh to put up the tree Friday, so I can do all the decorating this weekend. Then I have to get serious about my Christmas shopping. The little girls are easy and fun to shop for, everyone else, not so much. I do have 2 gifts so far for dh.

Dm is arriving on Friday, Dec. 12 and leaving on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The 2 little girls will be in 2 performances of The Nutcracker that weekend. Dm wants to do stocking stuffers while she is here. We hated to say no, so we will do them. I also need to plan a meal to have everyone here, so we can do stocking stuffers.

Dd2 is fixing her first turkey ever. We will be going there Thanksgiving evening and to dd1s at lunchtime. I think dd2 needs to see just how much work a big meal is. She has always had a noon Thanksgiving and Christmas Day dinners with her ex and present in-laws. Then our family celebration is that evening. Dd1 and I have never counted on her to bring anything, but she has occasionally. She really wanted to do this all herself but she thinks it's not Thanksgiving without my homemade crescent rolls. So I will be making double this year to take a batch to each house. There is also a dessert that everyone likes so I will make 2. I am also taking a salad and a vegetable to dd1s. Dh was kind of cranky about going to both houses, but we always ate at noon and at supper at dd1s on Thanksgiving, so what is the difference? Besides, dd2s house is 2 1/2 blocks away and he can go home very easily after he eats, if he wants to.

Yikes, it's time to get dgd3 ready for dance.

Hope you all have a great day.

Sounds like a lot of meals, Lilac!

Hugs for (Twins). Are there tranquilizers one can give dogs? Sounds like yours needs one! Is he fixed? Would he be calmer if he was? Course, probably too late at this time in his life. Good success with the house, hopefully no more snafu's.

I'm still in my PJ's. DH was here working and we had to go through several issues. sigh...I get very little done when he is around.

I finally got an idea from DD for DGSon's bday present so I need to go out one more time to get that. We have 2 DGSon's birthdays we take care of at thanksgiving because that is when we are together...one was last week, the other is in 2 weeks. It always makes a bit more work around the holiday for me. I take care of another DGSon's at Christmas because he was born the last week in December. The joys of having family not local.

So, here's my list:
2 things to buy at grocery.
laundry - begin to pack
clean out car, check fluids
kitchen's a mess!
wrap presents
get dressed!

off I go

Quick ci. More done. .
- quick groc. store run after I decided to make corn bread for the potluck - and decided that I should make a large pan rather than a small one
- cornbread made
- chili is made and in the crockpot
- found a fun activity in case students show up today

I'm off to change my clothes, gather items - and go!

I looked up the zone chores for this week. I'm in the kitchen/laundry room so have started the washer on its clean cycle (that stinks because it uses bleach) and took apart the oven door so I could clean the window streak that was between the two pieces of the window. Dishwasher was a quick swipe because nothing much comes apart and it uses a ton of water so nothing much gets dirty (my old one had tiny water jet holes that would get clogged with particles of food like popcorn husks because the water was recycled.)

That's three items. I need to hand scrub the floors in there today (should be interesting unless I find my knee pads) and so that will be the fourth item I need to cross off to get caught up for this week so far. I may not get to all of them this week but individually, they aren't that hard, especially if I put on a tv show to watch while I work. It is just the detail cleaning that I've got out of the habit of doing and I know if I keep it up, it will never be onerous. Moving into a clean apartment gave me a fresh starting date.

Still not dressed so s2s might be my next to-do. Just in case someone comes to the door!

Twins - thanks for the start. I stopped by early this morning and was prompted by your post to find my hip pad. I am so far off my typical this week that I haven't even kept up with the analog lo-do.

Another busy morning. Received an offer on MPB this morning. No thank you. They want us to carry the note at 6% interest. We are not the least bit interested in becoming a lender, so we declined their offer. Another MPB potential buyer wants to see our financial documents. I told DH I couldn't put those together and watch DGD3, so he came home and took her for a ride. She was very reluctant to leave me and kept hanging onto my leg. She finally decided to go with Papa and have an adventure. I suspect ice cream will be involved...

Why am I here when I am suppose to be doing those documents? :0
I'm going....
I'm going....
I'm gone!

I'm not making much progress.

But I did:
get last birthday present
got last 4 things at grocery store
helped DH ck all the fluids in the car. Had to get manual out to figure out how to check transmission fluid. Tricky. Made a gallon of windshield washer fluid.
forgot to load up the crockpot, so I'm cooking on the stove, and that works, just is a bit more checking. Have potatoes peeled and cooking now.
Oh, I did get dressed before all this, but I'll have to S2PJ's tonight.
Loaded up dishwasher and handwashed pots. Kitchen looks better.

My back got really stiff, so I had to lay down for a bit. That helped.

Still to do:
laundry (out of my usual order today)
wrap presents
clean out car. It isn't too bad.

Boy, I'm so glad I'm not hosting this year; I don't think I could manage it!

I had to rinse out clothes after ToddlerN had an accident those are in the dryer now. Glad I had a change of clothes for her here.

I got dry leaves in the coop and run for the hens. It is still raining out it has been raining all day. I had to open the other door in the run after I slipped the other door is safer. The one door was a mud hole area.

This wet weather is heading East not much fun but might be what some need in the way of moisture.
