the Magnificence of MOnday

MOnday gets a bum rap sometimes - sometimes it is justified but I see Monday as a beginning of so many possibilities. I see this day as a new beginning and as a SHE I love beginnings!!!


If I do a little each day this week I will make my weekend and my Christmas easier... so why not see the excitement in welcoming Monday.

Also I see this as a great opportunity to work with all of you, see my dear family and my dear friends - so much to look forward to... now that's exciting!

today: rug cleaners are coming

My house needs a much needed surface decluttering as I did nothing for a week while dd younger was home - the girls and I had a warm and enjoyable Thanksgiving week.. my house ---- not so much. My house is calling me for routines, Christmas preparing and a surface decluttering room by room visit as well as my usual Monday bathrooms cleaning and dog cleaning.

Hi everyone!

I will remember this \November as a very busy month with marvelous memories. We brought both of our adopted cats home and we also bought a Christmas tree.

I've been Christmas shopping. Now |I have to start wrapping so that there will be present to stick under the tree when we put it up. Last night Wayne asked when I would like to set up the tree and I said let's wait until December. I was reminded that tomorrow is December.

So here I am in a December that will be the least depressing December in more than 10 years! Cats and a tree and presents and baking to be done and a trip to prepare for and, and, and... plus laundry and dishes and dinner... YIKES!!

It's December!

Hanukkah is Dec 16 through 24. Saturday, Dec 20th will be the Saturday before Christmas, the day considered most likely one of the whole year for hospitality and visiting.

I'm up! Late again although it doesn't matter so much today.

On the plus side, when I wake up, I roll out of bed almost immediately, unlike normally when I stay in bed 1 - 2 hours after I'm woken up by the light, dh, or the radio. If he stirs when the light comes on, I stir, then he turns on the radio and I doze from that point. Without him or the light, I wake up with a start, eyes-closed assess my tiredness level, do I continue to think about waking up or go back to sleep? If I decide I might be able to wake up, I peek to assess the brightness level and if it is bright, it is after 7 so I know I get up. So far it hasn't been dark when I've peeked so I don't know what I'd do if it was!

I slept over nine hours last night and it was very high quality sleep according to my fitbit, although it took 40 minutes for me to finally fall asleep. Physically, I wasn't moving but my mind wouldn't shut off.

I need get this apartment under control. For too many days in a row I've been racing around doing things and stuff is being dumped in the hall when I return home and not dealt with. Since Friday I've needed the dolly each day to bring things up from the car. Normally, we know we'll be shopping and take the grocery cart to the garage when we leave but Friday's shopping took me by surprise so I used the dolly (which is stored in the parking spot.) I took it back to the garage on Saturday but then bought so much on my way home that I needed it again. Yesterday I loaded it up with my things for the day but, of course, needed it to bring the things back up from the car at night. I was so tired, I even put my purse on the dolly last night!

I got word this morning that my request to switch services happened, therefore, dh and I can lead the singing at the apartment complex's Christmas Party. And dh will be leading the music at church on Jan 4 so I've just asked the retirement home if I can have that Sunday as well (since we are already 'in the neighbourhood.') Since Wednesday night when we gassed up the car, I've put over 200 miles on it driving back and forth so combining trips when possible is important.

I love this title of today's thread! I need to get back on track with my exercise hoping standing to warp my loom counts for some yesterday.

I have meal / menu for the week so that is good.
Made some progress on the dining room table so that is good yea!

Had zero luck looking for weaving warp and weft in the colors I wanted. Joann's was super busy! I have a local store to check, and one other place to go at. If they do not have it I will have to change up my colors.

Good morning!

I was writing out a check and happened to think of our cable/internet/phone bill. Either I dreamed that it arrived early or we haven't received it. Either way, I can't find any bill, so I just called and paid by credit card. I did this because I might not think of it again with all that needs done. I would have swore it arrived early and I know that I wouldn't have thrown it away. Well in the past I would have known that, now, who knows?

After today, dh has 20 working days left. I have been warned, the first week he is off, he plans to sleep as late as he wants and go to bed as late as he wants. That plus he just plans to do what he wants in general, lots of TV, computer games, whatever. After a week of that he plans to get busy on the bathroom remodel.

Guess I better hit the shower. I have a lot of errands but was waiting for a return phone call, that hasn't came. I can't wait all morning...............

Been spending the morning so far researching a new telephone at B Buy =have to call At&t to find out if I'll incur any added monthly charges if I buy the one I'm thinking of -only $1.00 but $40 activation fee and $40 upgrade fee. They always get you.

Spent the rest of my morning looking for addresses of 2 other churches -had to send out requests for letters of transfer. First one was fine, but had a dickens of a time finding a mailing address for the second. They're done and in the mailbox. Now to get the minutes from our last council meeting done so I can send them to the secretary in prep for next Monday's meeting. Not sure I have all the trustee notes, but will write what I have and send it to their note taker to make sure I have everything.

Dh has been for his walk and has now gone to purchase a light for our church down here. Want to get those minutes done before we leave again -think we're going to visit dbil/dsisil this afternoon. Will drop dh off at dd's school to work on the Christmas float about 3pm. Guess I'll come home then and figure out something for dinner.

Think I decided yesterday to buy some sort of wheeled duffel bag for gd16 for when they go to Germany in June. Then I'll be sure to give her her birthday gift before they leave -probably Euro $$.

DD and dsonil went out for a while late yesterday and came back with a 'new' car. They bought a white, jazzy, Volks wagon bug. They'd been debating about putting $3,000 in their PT but still would have had to buy a new car within a couple of years. The increased gas mileage (he's commuting about 100 miles per day) will help make the car payment I guess. Meantime we have 5 cars parked here. They do have to take the PT in as the trade in today. Then they have to return his Mom's car sometime this week.

Good Morning - just wanted you to know I'm still around.

Trying to get the den/craft room/guest room finished but not easy with a boot on my right foot - plus 2 days a week PT takes a big chunk out of my day/week. I have worn the boot for 2 weeks now - combo of bad shoes, flat feet (thank you ddad) and Uncle Arthur. I now have a $100 pair of shoes and will complete 6 weeks of PT by the 1st of the year. I'm hoping that will fix it - but still can put inserts in.

Carpenter came by this morning and they will be here this week. That means 1 new cupboard (hurray more storage) and a new door and screen door. Current door is only 6' 5" and they will be putting in a standard 6' 8" so that will mean more dust, etc. as they make the opening bigger.

All plans for our anniversary are done except order the cakes. All the motel reservations are made as are plane reservations. I just pray for good weather for all the flights from SD, MI and IL.

I just remembered I had just poured the milk on my cereal when the carpenter came. Yuck! soggy cherrios. TTFN
