Saturday Something

Just a quick C. I. here to say I woke up/got up at 3:07 a.m., base from somebody's rock music was blasting in the distance, DH cannot hear it, b/c he doesn't sleep with his hearing aids in, so we got up, found a great comedy-musical starring Victor Mature and Lucille Ball. It was, "The Seven Day Leave." It was so odd to see Victor in a comical role, and SINGING! DH said, "The studios back then, didn't quite know "what" to do with Victor Mature."

I got in 2 morning naps, did 1 LOL, sorted mail, wrote 2 long letters, read, wrote in my journal, and walked 30 minutes. I'm going to get more walking in, too. It rained here, it's dry now, and super FOGGY! DH is watching college football, I watch, too, but am on my way to s2s, plan out tomorrow, and plan to go to bed at a reasonable hour, for me. That is, unless the boxing matches are on tonight.

Blessed I had secretly dreamed of raising / training diabetic dogs but for now not enough room do not want to deal with a dog inside and hens. They cost a lot 2 like $20,000!

Spinning meeting went well my idea of a weaver's tea was a hit for the maybe Val. Day week.

Hens we sold are doing great, that gal will take you
ng roos to go to freezer camp.
Store run done traffice was nuts at wally world.
Had last of the turkey w gravy yum .
Got yarn for a blue and pink prayer shawl.

wow i had no idea how expensive they r d nancy - if anyone could raise those pups it would b you - maybe one day - u have a such a kind spirit.

Ta-Da! I'm all done. Well, mostly.

I got out to two stores and all the groceries bought. I was out of a lot of weird stuff like glass cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, some salve for me, and all the groceries, plus gas in the car. All done with that.

DH helped with the sandwiches. First time he's ever done that with me. I sat him at the table with the big bag of little round rolls and containers of chicken salad and he made them. He also helped me make the banana bread. I stirred one, he stirred the other. I've made those little sandwiches, with cream cheese, and I made a loaf of ham sandwiches too. Now I'm really hoping there'll be room in the church kitchen refrigerator for these big platters.

I didn't have to cook dinner tonight, brought home a rotisserie chicken and some potato salad. Everything in the kitchen is cleaned up. Whew. I talked with my friend Sandi tonight too on the phone. Her son is upset with her ("I guess we won't be able to have Christmas this year" ). And her husband said I'm not doing this decorating. I feel bad for her.

And NOT-WTG to Sandi's family. * sheesh * It doesn't sound like they are being very supportive. I mean, I can understand the husband not wanting to go all out, maybe, decorating on his own, but for goodness sake, the son's comment was uncalled for -- unless he's a VERY young son? I was assuming this was an adult son. Maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, I feel bad for her, too, Harmony.

I am sooo glad I've got my decorating done, though. Today I have just felt so tired and sleepy.
Tonight dh and I went to McDonald's and then rode around a little while and that was quite enough activity for me. I should have called my dmom but I just didn't feel like any long conversations. I know my dmom is not feeling well herself -- I talked to the flooring man and dmom had cancelled out on their appt this morning -- but I just didn't feel like it.
(I wasn't checking up on her; the flooring man is a mutual friend.)

I s2s, went to CVS & the bank, and ordered ds a book online for part of his Christmas gift. That is just about the extent of activity around here. Also printed out part of the Advent reading for tomorrow so I could read it without glasses.

Her son has lots of problems. He's a young adult but used to her taking care of him. He's pretty badly a d d. I once asked DH what he'd do if I didn't "do" Christmas..he said he'd write checks and not bake or decorate. Scrooges. They're all scrooges!

I don't know how much decorating dh would do without me. I don't think he has EVER put up the tree or helped w/the lights and ornaments on it, but he has helped put out the smaller things we sit out, like the Nativity scene and the snowmen & Santas.
He would probably give everyone money, too, LOL. Although he and ds have managed to help w/some of my shopping on their annual trip -- but that was usually for dfil or dmil. I guess he'd buy for dbil or dnephew, but he'd be hopeless if I told him to find something for dniece, LOL!

I'm going to lie down again. I'm at that point of feeling bad where I don't know if I really feel this bad or I'm just being lazy. But I'm going to take advantage of being home on a Saturday night. Next week, dgs will be here probably most of the day on Monday & Tuesday... and then Wednesday I will have to make time to help dmom, before going to church to watch dgs ring bells w/the toddlers in the Christmas program... and Thursday is Lights of Love at our local hospital. They light a tree in memory of loved ones and a dfriend who works at the hospital donated a light in memory of dmil, and asked ds to sing -- so we will be attending that. So it is shaping up to be a busy week, I think.

Dd2 called shortly after my last post. It was time well spent. She was gone about 5 hours but she bought the bulk of her Christmas and bought enough for me to shop through and I am finished with the 4 youngest and her dh. I still have a lot of dgd18 and dd2s money left, but I think I will just give them the cash, so they can buy what they want.

Dd2 used my computer to order the 2 little girls American Girl dolls, hairbrushes, matching outfits for them and their dolls. I was shocked at the price. The bright side to it, is that 2 American Girl dolls will be donated to girls in the hospital, with this purchase.

Then dd2 found what she wanted to buy dgd18 for her Santa gift on Amazon. Since it needed to be mailed here, I put it on my prime account. I need to figure up what I owe her and pay her the difference because I know what I owe is more than she owes me.

Dd2 even bought dgs8s birthday gifts. I am having a hard time finding what I want.

The boys wrote Christmas wish lists to Santa and to their mom. To their credit though, they also asked for things for their stepdad and siblings. The boys had a conspiracy though, dgs10 asked Santa for a puppy. Dgs8 asked for a puppy plus a collar, leash etc. That is all they asked Santa for. Dsonil agreed they could have a puppy. After researching it, dd2 decided on a Goldendoodle. Her and dgd18 will have to drive 7 hours one way to pick it up, early the week of Christmas. Dgd18 asked her boyfriends mother if they could keep it there until Christmas Day and she said yes.

Dd2 and I planned to wrap her gifts tonight but it took so long for her to place her orders and for us to decide what I should buy that we didn't get to the wrapping.

We don't know the details but there was a shooting in front of the grocery store that we all shop at, late this afternoon. One is dead and the shooter was arrested. This type of thing doesn't happen around here, so when it does, it is shocking.

Guess I better get to bed.

My girls also loved their American girl dolls.. then it was only about history dolls. Great that you got that holiday shopping done!!! d lilac... how cool is that - the 2 American Girl dolls being donated - awesome! you are doing awesome!
