Tuesday Trimming

I made it to the yarn meeting and talked about my Hanukkuh basket success. Frogged out the crochet project that was not working out got a swatch done on knitting and some found out how much yarn for a sweater.

Kids were here after school long enough for a snack they had fun.
I made mac n cheese for dinner (not from the cheap mix) l yum the only kind I like with a sausage dog.

Got the cheese log for dson delivered I make some up. BC he & I cannot eat the store one bc the have walnuts.

I'm BOOTLESS!!!!!!

It feels so good. I am to take it easy and listen to my body - if it starts to hurt again - come back. Check up in a month.

Time to get more details on my list. Breaking the small steps into tiny steps for each day.

Now time to find my sink.

Whining alert ~Tonight h was scrounging aroung at 4:30 for food in the kitchen trying to add noodles and powder mix from a box I was going to make it from scratch special for the holidays. He wanted the ramin left over for the hens and I had not started dinner yet sigh he was messing up meal plan. Then I said to thaw out his sausage dog and get it ready which he did not. Then when the meal was ready had to wait for that I was not happy. Sigh now I need clean up the kitchen.

Ok, quiet now so I'll take a moment and debrief my day.

Got two loads of laundry done (although I still have to fold the towels.)

Dh had 45 minutes before we left. Not enough time to start anything with work so he asked if I needed help with anything. I reminded him the curtain rod in the kitchen had to be put up (apparently having to shift it each day when he opens a drawer wasn't reminder enough!) and so he did that.

I ironed the curtains and got the first one done before we left, and did the second when we returned.

Lunch was good, hair cut is great, bus ride was successful except my knee was out for most of the walking after getting off the first bus. So I had to hang onto dh as a cane.

Had a good time with the kids.

Drove dsil and dd home. It is raining but right at the cusp of freezing rain so that was stressful. Part of the problem is the car is too dirty so I spent some time wiping off the mirrors, windows and backup camera so I'll be able to see better out of it next time I go out. Still looking for a car wash. The automatic ones around here seem to be about $15 - $30 dollars. The self-clean ones are $4 plus $1 per minute. I'm not sure if that means $5 for the first minute or if some time is included with the base rate of $4. The website is very unclear. They have interior, heated, bays so apparently you can wash the car and dry it off before leaving. Which is better than an automatic one because the dryers never work fully so you end up with ice blobs on your car. Anyway, I'll go and check them out. They are a 20 minute drive from here but I still like the idea of cleaning my own car properly and saving money.

Dh just got off his conference call so it went at least 30 minutes longer than usual. He didn't sound happy.

Ds is still here. He was going home to nap but is working on a computer for a friend and got distracted with that so was still here when I got back.

Tomorrow will be a payroll day. I'm not sure when I'll get to work on the sermons. I'm starting to panic over those.

So glad you are out of that boot, MT!!! I know how thrilled dmom was when she was able to quit wearing hers after bunion surgery.

Sounds like you've had a very productive day, Kathryn.
Carwash around here is about $12 for the drive-thru, but it is very unsatisfactory IMHO... it NEVER gets the back of the SUV, and as soon as it dries, it starts looking spotty again. Another automatic carwash where you wait while it goes through on its own is around $20, I think, and they hand-dry it, so it is MUCH better... but I have to drive 20-30 minutes to get to it. Hand wash, the best option, is $40... and again, about 20-30 minutes away. There are some here in Tiny Town that hand wash, for about the same price, but I haven't tried them. My cousin has started doing hand washes also, for about $30, I think, but he is also 15-20 minutes away and his days are not the same every week, so I haven't tried him yet, either. Our SUV definitely needs a good wash.

(((Nancy))) -- I think tis the season for marital discord, too... Last night, after ds/dgs left, dh and I had a few snippy words with each other, too. All is well today.

FF has been busy today, too! You go, girl! I find I am much more productive if I stay away from the computer, too... so I'm not asking for a laptop, even though I know dh would get me one if I wanted one. I told him, not this year... we'll wait another year and see if we can co-exist better on this one.

Well, I'm sure I've still missed replies to a lot of folks today, but to do a quick ci: of my PODA since I left...
* emailed two former co-workers to congratulate on accomplishments recently in the newspaper
* printed list of dmil's dishes for dniece
* bank
* post office
* nursing home
* supper w/dh, ds, ddil, dgs
* back to bank (dh spent more than he intended on supper so wanted to replenish his shopping money)
* gas station
* home -- tracked package on USPS tracking site -- yes, it has arrived

Good day. And very little to report from the saga of As the Stomach Turns... maybe I really am going to get over this finally. Took 2 Imodium this morning as directed and have not needed any more since. Ate a huge supper -- salad, baked potato, wild rice, blackened fish, plus brownie/ice cream dessert -- and I still feel pretty good.

DH & DS will make their big shopping trip tomorrow and go to college town basketball game.
I plan to

[ ] wrap gifts
[ ] call bar-b-que restaurant to make sure I get my order in on time for next week

We're all plugging along.

I ran to 3 stores, all fairly close ones. I got another 2 people finished and some groceries for the next few days. I made a salad to go with the soup. Was feeling like we needed some fresh veggies for a change.

Big huge mess in the kitchen cleaned up.

Despite some business challenges and stress over some of that, we are having a nice Christmas. DH seems happier than I've seen him in a while. Helpers could not make it today, but they are working tomorrow, starting a bit late, but at least they are working.
I just might get started on some cookies tomorrow.
