d helia so happy you visited Chicago - hope you were able to get into things... the other day I was there with French family and almost everything was sold out. - I couldn't get tickets to the shed, the architectural tour and so much more. There was a 2-1/2 wait for the Sears/Willis tower but I got fast passes. Hope you had a nice vacation. Also WELCOME HOME!

Yes, it is a race to the finish. I gotta get moving! I spent yesterday in a genealogy haze again - dkids and Z cooked burgers last night for supper and I did kitchen clean up. A very very quiet day.

Dh sent photos of caught fish - he is visiting dfriend in FL and they went deep sea fishing in the sun yesterday. We've had rain and dreary skies off and on for awhile - I think Christmas day was sunny in the afternoon.

Dmom has a dr appointment today at 1:30 so I will need to be out of here in time to get there, and get her to the doc. Dh comes home today but will go to the office then to bowling tonight. I started a list for today so I need to get moving.

-breakfast

-walk dogs
-call doc that dd and ds missed seeing last week
-find phone numbers for rural co probate court to fax court order today
-call rural county probate court with info for faxing

my kids went deep sea fishing yesterday in Naples - hope your Dh is having tons of fun d Twins - hope you have a great day with your dmom (dr appointments are boring but I hope you two have a lovely time just being together)

Good morning all! Thanks for starting us off, BookS. Wow - 3 days. . .
Thanks, blessed! We only went to 2 museums (Art Institute and Museum of Science and Industry), and they were extremely crowded. We had to stand in line for maybe 15 minutes to get tickets at both places. Many of the extras/add on programs were sold out at the museum of science and industry, but since dh and kids only wanted to be there for 2 hours (after we paid so much for the tickets!) that didn't matter to us. Apparently, everyone else in the area also thought this would be a good day to visit the museums. LOL! It was fun to hear all the languages of the visitors. People were there from around the world.
Sea fishing sounds like fun, esp. in sunshine and warm weather! LOL!
Hope the appt. with dmom goes well, Twins. Enjoy quiet days as you can!

I loved the different languages as well... I am not that impressed with the Museum of Science of Industry because of the cost and the fact that many times things don't work. I love the Art institute. - I think you are right...every one and their brother were in Chicago for the holidays lol. Again Welcome back home d helia

I'm "zooming" today, so far, Book. Feel like we're in a race to really utilize dd's time off from school -trying to make the moments count. Just finished cleaning up the kitchen, doing dishes and washing my hair.

Twins, been meaning to tell you that the link you posted the other day has been on my mind pretty much non-stop ever since. I like the ideas planted there (system vs goal). Keep thinking how best to utilize that thinking for weight loss and just everyday things I want to accomplish here. My 'goal' has been to have the living area clean/organized -how to incorporate a system so that just happens.

We're going to Disney later this morning to see/hear a Christmas gospel concert (2:25). Then we're bussing over to Hollywood studios to see the Osborne Family Christmas lighting at 6. Nice being able to go for just a few hours or to just one event without feeling we need to spend all day running from spot to spot. DD couldn't figure out when we went in the other day why they didn't scan her bracelet for parking until someone told us later that they weren't charging a parking fee -Disney's Christmas present. At $17/day it's a good present for all those who don't have an annual pass. Our parking comes with our pass -and we pretty much make up the cost of the ticket with free parking.

Think I'll go get something done -after I print out the page from that link.

I'm slow moving today but it is also a 'day off' for me, there's no where I have to be and no pressing deadlines except paperwork.

I stripped both the spare bed and our bed and have laundry on the go. Remade both as well so the guest room is ready (I think) for dd's godparents. Can't decide to ask for the guest suite or just put the boys (ds and dnephew) in the living on the couch and floor with an air mattress. Will discuss with dh.

At some point today we'll check on dd's house and do returns at Costco by her place. Need to buy dsil replacement snowshoes. He's heavier than I thought by looking at him so 200 lbs wasn't large enough. Seriously I thought he was 175. He was over 200 but that was after a winter of not having to leave the house for work. Since moving here he's got into fabulous shape because they walk/bus/bike everywhere and he's also doing activities with people from work. The work friends I've met seem to be quite active even the ones my age.

I'm going to have my breakfast now and then get dressed. The bedroom is tidied but the living room needs a spiffing. If I keep on top of things, I won't need to panic clean on the 31st.

Good morning!

I am feeling so/so, but my voice sounds terrible. I really wanted to stay in another day, but we are to have snow overnight with a high of 9. So I will try to shower, make a list and hit the store.

I have an unopened 1/2 gal. of egg nog. The expiration date is today. I told dd1 to stop and get it. Between dgs20 and her dh, they can take care of it today.
