I finished that round and did a few more things. Dkids doc appt is rescheduled from missing it last week, I emptied the dishwasher and did kitchen clean up, and also talked to dmom to remind her of doc appointment. She was trying to call me, but kept hanging up so I finally got through to her calling back.

I need to move dd's car and then am heading out. While out today, I will also need to get emissions inspection done on my car.

Dee, the article I posted also struck me - it's the system we need! Duh! Isn't that what P&P were saying in the first place?

Good morning everyone! I am back in NM after my shortest trip ever to AL. I had to take my LARGE suitcase, even though I only was there for 3.5 days, too many gifts. I still owe DD12 a cabinet for her porcelain baby dragons, but I was not taking THAT to AL. We can look for one on Tuesday. At the airport, I called my dad to GLOAT. I saw a sign for a Styx concert in January. I always know when they are coming anywhere along the Gulf Coast, because he lets me know, once even calling me FROM a Styx concert. They usually come around his birthday near him, so sometime I want to surprise him by showing up. My brother would arrange tickets and transportation for me. I need to crochet a brown and white cat for the newest niece, then all cousins will have an animal from their aunt.

Tonight's tasks:
pay bills, update Quicken
order checks
order toothbrushes (I have a favorite type available only online)
look at Christmas cards and see who I need to send to, also check thank you notes to send
find Care Bear crochet pattern (which I have modified to a cat)
Java - study book and recheck it
send name of mystery series to dad
email to SIL to be so she will have my email address

ETA: Oh, yeah, some payroll stuff.

Just cuop and must correct something blessed said last night --
I'm NOT teaching now. You must have missed my retirement.
This is my second year out, so see -- I really DO need to find a better routine now. It is very difficult with dh home 24/7 too.
Tomorrow is another day.

Good title for today. Yes I am racing.

Had a lab test today to go to, 7:30 AM so I was up early and no eating. I had quite a time with the lab gal, getting the right test done. She couldn't find one in her computer, it was under the name brand instead of the generic. And it was spelled wrong in one place. Then she tried to order the only one available where she would send it, but that was a metabolite test, not just a regular test and I had to explain all that. Then she found another lab to send it to and get the correct test. I've had 2 wrong tests done recently and we needed to get this right for once.

Stopped at bank on way home, it wasn't open yet. Went back and stopped payment on 2 lost checks.

I came home to a mountain of month/quarter/year end work. I've made a good stab at it. Customer came and paid his bill finally and I had my 3rd trip to the bank. I'm so glad it is less than 1 mile away.

Taking a short break, then back to my desk. We have new helper here today. Crossing fingers he turns out better than the last one.

Got supper in the crock pot. Glad I won't have to cook after all this work today.

girls called bringing me and dh into an argument - dh and I even got into an argument - I am a big one in letting the kids try things and he is always afraid - when older dd called him and told him that dd younger wanted to go jet skiing with her boot on and asked him if he felt it was wrong too. - Dh is afraid of them doing anything. Giving the older sister permission to say no... not a good plan with sisters. (dd younger called and said they were all going but leaving her out which of course I assumed was true (again taking sides which is wrong) - she was mistaken... none of them could afford it anyway) -

I am actually mad at all 6 of them and most of all me.
.dd younger for calling me hysterical because she misunderstood and not trying to stand up for herself by speaking directly and calmly,
-dd older not telling sister they were going to the beach so she didn't bring a bathing suit even though 4 of the 5 knew to bring suits,
- 4 of the 5 kids for looking into wave runners thinking that they would leave dd younger behind on the beach,
- dh for not talking to me because he is terrified of dd younger's injury and for his fear of everything the not so d kids, right now, want to do,

what does that mean..

. it means that I need the attitude adjustment - I am really angry - and I normally don't get angry.
getting involved in girls argument without staying calm and neutral -that won't happen again

trying to get back to calm... poor dh - I let him have it.. I don't like doing that = I am so so mad at myself

(blessed) I guess I don't quite understand, but with an injury like dd has I wouldn't want her out on a jet ski either. It's not a matter of being scared of everything they try to do, it's common sense that she not hurt herself further than she is. What she doesn't need right now is a set-back. I'd be miffed at the girls who didn't tell her to bring her suit, but really kids do that kind of stuff. Not usually intentional, they just don't think of everything. Unless it was intentionally mean towards her...though it probably wasn't. You'll get it straightened out, I hope.

I've been working away. Another couple forms ready to mail. I was 1¢ off on one, not sending them a check for that! I guess I make a lot of mistakes and things don't add up right and I have to do a lot of checking and redoing. Been like that for a couple years. It's a lot to keep straight.

Neighbor came by for a chat. He is nice. I need a snack and a break next.

I agree with you d harmony... I didn't say that my anger was logical ;)

it's just my reaction that I am upset with. dh, over the years, have been so protective to the point of not letting the kids lean upside down on the swing when they were little. I was upset that he gives my 25 year old permission to tell the 19 year old what to do which doesn't work well with siblings. He tends to do that a lot. The 19 year old has always had common sense, even more so than my eldest at that age.

I am upset that dd older and the others brought bathing suits knowing they were going to a beach which dd younger knew nothing about and that they wanted to go jet skiing as pairs and leave dd younger alone (they are 1 hour away from my moms house).

but most of all I am upset with my own cranky bad behavior.

Before dh came home I put a sign on my shirt... # 1 jerky behavior. - he laughed but I still feel bad.
I can't believe how angry I felt... so not me. I am horribly embarrassed that I could feel so cranky. I dislike impulse behavior in myself

Well, moving slowly but have made some progress. A.m. routine is done, except for making the bed. 1 lol is finished, washed through to put away. 2nd lol is in the dryer. that is all the clothes laundry for now. I've made a menu plan and groc. list. Dfriend S and R and baby J will be here for dinner tonight. I have also culled a few sweathers/fleece tops from my closet and chest of drawers. I also started the breadmaker with parmesan bread and started the dw, since we didn't run it last night - as we had just arrived home last night.

Dd16 has a friend here. Dd19 has left to go hang out with a friend. S, R, and J should be here in about 2.25 hours.

So, I still haven't gone to the groc. store, exercised, or worked on room prep - though I think dd19 has worked on room prep. I'm hoping dfriends aren't allergic to cats b/c Lily mostly hangs out in dd19's room and her room has the only other 2 person bed (well, futon in this case) in the house. . . I'll put clean bedding on it and give the room a good vacuum and hope that is good enough. Our aerobed leaks now, and most of our overnight guests are no longer spring chickens anyway and would appreciate a real bed, so I'm thinking of buying a queen bed to put in ds' room. Dd16 won't let us put one in her room, even though it is large enough. She doesn't want to give up space for her sewing machine, dress form, fabrics, etc.

That's a lot of running around, Harmony.
((blessed)) That is a very difficult position for you to be in with both dds' phone calls and dh's reaction. Your response was very natural. I think in your shoes, I would have been angry at everyone too. You are not a j erk at all. ;) You have such a tender heart. This incident doesn't define you - I know you know that too. ((sweet blessed))

OK - I'm off to the groc. store, now that it is 4 pm.
