wow d lucy~~~WOW!!! YOUR DOING GREAT!
Dkathyrn that kind of person is a blankety blank blank blank kind of person... you know the life guard should have said something or at least the head of the pool/gym. He could have gone to a different lane. No excuse for poor behavior such as his. Hope you have a nice catch up nap.
I am going to take a little time for me:

Re: How lucky we are to have each other Monday
Finished all the dishes and started dinner.
Went to Brampton and back.
Did NOT touch the clean laundry yet.
Time for the teeth to get brushed for second time today. (I recently bought a spinning head toothbrush and I love it.)

What a wonderful opening for today, Blessed! It is a comfort to know our Village friends are a constant here to turn to at any time.
Wow, (((Harmony))), how quickly one thing can lead into another! Good advice from others here re: doctor and meds. I sure hope the new script works quickly. No doubt you have been so busy and working so hard lately to overtax your immune system; I hope you can get caught up on your rest soon and recover quickly. (((Hugs)))
A couple of weeks ago ds#2 and ddil asked if we could take care of letting their ddog, Sugar, out while they took a weekend trip to Orlando this past weekend. Of course we said yes and went to their house Friday evening, three times on Saturday and twice yesterday to let her out and make sure she had enough food and water. They have a cat also, but we never see him as he hides from everyone! They left enough food and water and clean litter box for his needs. While taking care of Sugar we usually sat and watched tv for an hour or so while visiting and petting her. I know she misses her family when they are not there. The dfam was there for the Highland Games; the middle school was there to compete and both dgd13 and dgd20 competed in highland dance. They both won awards and ribbons and advanced to the next level. (Dgd's 20th birthday was Saturday). As a bonus dson's family got to meet up with our two d nieces and their families who both live in that area. It's been a few years since they were together and was a good visit for them!
Yesterday dfam#1 came for the afternoon and evening. This is the family that has four of our dgrkids, and whoo boy! were they charged! It's always fun to have them around. They played wii then watched a movie they brought with them while the adults visited. Ds was watching the car auction online.....forget the name of the program, but it is the oldies cars restored and sell for many thousands of $$$. It was fun watching the pretty cars and the money adding up! We had breakfast for dinner and apple pie for dessert. After eating the dgkids wanted to play LCR (dice game) till it was time to leave.
I thought I was going to get through this winter without getting sick, but....last week I felt a little off. Nothing specific, just didn't feel normal and had little energy or ambition to do anything other than keep up with basic routines. Thursday I had an odd sensation of muscle spasm in my right leg, then it started to ache. Yesterday I woke up with a rash on my leg which sure looks like shingles to me. I have some salve to put on and today it's looking a little better. I think I'll get dh to get some vitamins etc. that the nutritional healing reference book I have has listed.
I did manage to get the kitchen cleaned up and change the sheets on our bed, also gathered enough clothes, etc. for a load of laundry, but that's it. I slept off and on all morning!
Thank you, Kathryn, Ken, all Admins and Mods for all the extra work you do to keep our Village site running!
Dh has supper ready; all I wanted was a dish of rice and some canned peaches.

I went to bed for over 90 minutes and dh got me up because I have to leave for school in 30 minutes and should eat something first.
I also have to read the story of Cain. And remember to pack a Bible to take with me.

Re: How lucky we are to have each other Monday
Hi everyone! I hope your MLK day is more fun than mine. I have gone to the dentist, where I had to have a filling replaced, but they were able to work it in right then. Then, I came home and reviewed my previous will. Since I couldn't eat solids, I treated myself to some tasty soup at a Vietnamese place. I was hoping to find friends to join me, but one couldn't make it and the other I never got hold of. Then, it was off to the gastroenterologist, where he is trying me on some different meds. Thank goodness, this time, he did not suggest the six small meals a day plan, which is totally impractical and unsatisfying in the extreme. If eating soup causes symptoms, that plan will not help. Then, on to the lawyer to update my will, expensive, but necessary.
I am finally home, but not for long. I am here only long enough to find instructions on how to fix a leaky faucet. Then, it is off to the hardware store and the pharmacy.
DD12 and I did enjoy Styx, and did call my dad from the show. This weekend, I did get lots of errands done, cleaned up the master bathroom, backed up the computer, and worked on a scrapbook I started for the one-eyed kitten. I need to get it done for the annual meeting as a kind of "This is what our org does" story. This is the first and the last scrapbook I will ever do. I am just not a scrapbooker. One of the errands was to take dFosterCat15 to the vet. I am hoping for an answer soon. She is still gulping.
Pending stuff to work on tonight: finish scrapbook, write friend, fix faucet. FlyLady's zone is master bedroom, which is in great need of attention! Maybe I should finish unpacking from my Christmas trip? Putting away laundry would probably be useful as well.
Kathry: A letter to the owner/manager may be in order. They need to know why people are leaving and that their slacker employees are doing nothing to stop it.

Re: How lucky we are to have each other Monday
Hello, villagers ~
This morning I spent an unexpected 4 hours volunteering for the library. By which I mean I offered an hour or 2, but it turned into 4 hours, doing something another volunteer had said she would do but then she backed out.
The rest of this week I'll be doing the things I said I would handle for the library's Fancy Nancy Tea Party. Also LEGO Club on Wednesday.
So ... some fun things going on, but they'll take a lot of time. Must make an effort to keep the household chores under control.

Re: How lucky we are to have each other Monday
Elizabeth: I spent time with the manager at the Y and the bank.
First half of my night was fabulous.
Second half was so boring.
Walk home was fun cuz it is with my friend and he described his first class which he's really enjoying.
I feel bad about being so bored in the second class. The lecturer adores the topic (Reformation) and brought 26 books on Calvin for us to look through, plus a framed collage with pictures of all the main Reformers. Then he dressed up in a Genevan Gown and read a Calvin sermon to us. For almost half an hour (and had to skip lots of pages!) It was hard to follow and I swear I was trying. It was very repetitive so then I kept wondering if I had missed the point the first time he had said something. Which I might have because Calvin kept saying "We know blah, blah, blah, but NO! this isn't right, this is not what we are to think!" so I might have remembered some of the things I was supposed to forget and forgot some of the things I was supposed to remember!
The first class was on Cain and was he a scoundrel? She is a Baptist minister and is amazing. Had a great time, very interactive class, lots of laughter and thought. She uses her voice incredibly effectively, loud, regular, loud, very soft to emphasize a point. I'm learning both content and style from her. If I wasn't hanging with my friend after class, I'd give up on the second class entirely but he and I sit together for the second one and then walk together and talk.
In the meantime, my minister friend went out to Into the Woods tonight with his youth group. I sent him ":-P " and made sure he knew I was sticking my tongue out at him and that I'd rather have been with him than sat through the Calvin bit (although, to be honest, I'm not sure I would have given up the first class.)
Dh is still up. I'm short a thousand steps so might put on my stuff and go for a quick walk somewhere. It is cold out so maybe just around the underground parking lot. It is too late to use the treadmill.

Re: How lucky we are to have each other Monday
Kathryn, it sounds to me as if the pool isn't big enough for lap swimmers. I know some places down here have specific times for water aerobics and other times for lappers...but maybe you will find something better.
Thank you for kind words. I had several naps today.
Sunny, DD2 told me she was meeting your family. She liked seeing the dancing and then everybody met, even the husbands came, and they had dinner together. She has declared them "nice cousins".
Well, I will be talking with my specialist about today's problems. The bad thing is that I don't see her, only once a year, for a chat and a prescription refill. The medical care I've been getting recently is not very good. Wrong medicine given, bad attitude and lack of wisdom today, wrong lab tests twice. I was very pleased to learn that DH asked the pharmacist if this medicine was ok for me to take and she said yes. Course, they all have side effects and this particular one has more than most...which makes me uncomfortable, but the Dr. and I just did not "click" on our conversation, so I am stuck with this.... 1 pill each day, how strong must each pill be? I'm trying not to worry.
DH had a bad day also, and we had a couple unpleasant business things...tomorrow everything will be open so we will have to deal with some stuff. I hope I'm feeling better.
Have a nice night!
