Re: Groundhog Day Monday
Did you see the news yesterday about Whitney Hustons daughter being in a drug induced coma after being found unconscious in a bathtub so sorry to learn of this.

Re: Groundhog Day Monday
Hi everyone!
Everything is closed here in the Niagara peninsula. It took Wayne 1/2 hour to get out to the street from our parking lot. He is at work alone. Nobody else made it in. He's got the most experience driving in the snow... he's the oldest guy at his workplace. LOL! He did tell me he is coming home early. I don't know when that will be.
I have absolutely zero plans for the day. We are on the third floor and our balcony is covered. There is snow blocking our balcony/patio door. Good thing we only have cats that don't go out.
I've been up since 7 a.m., but I think it's time to go back to bed and read a book.

Re: Groundhog Day Monday
Good morning, villagers ~
I haven't been outside yet so I don't know how much more snow we got overnight. I didn't shovel my driveway at all yesterday. When I get out there later today, I'll have a better idea of the total amount from the weekend. DH said what he shoveled yesterday around his car was the very heavy kind of snow. I will have to move slowly and take breaks. Our high is supposed to be around 9 or 10F, but right now it's still -5F so I'm not going out yet.
DH decided to stay home today. The highway is cleared so he probably could have gotten to work ok, but the radio DJ in The Big City said that most of the side roads still need a lot of work. DH's company is sort of tucked away back on side roads, so he decided to give them 1 more day to get snow cleared away.
We did end up going out for hamburgers yesterday late afternoon. We saw cars driving past our house and thought that meant it was ok to get out. We learned that was probably not the best decision. DH's car was sliding around, we almost got stuck a few times, and that was using the main road through Tiny Town to go just a little over 2 miles from our house.
We ate our burgers and came on back home.
I didn't do much of anything yesterday but R&R. No nap, but I spent a lot of time on the computer reading blogs and catching up Emails.
This morning I'm hanging around my desk waiting for the mechanic to call about my car.
Today's 5x5:
* tea party report for library group
* month-end reports for library group
* month-end reports for sewing group
* shovel the sidewalk & my driveway
* change the sheets -- which has to wait until this afternoon because DH just went back to bed
(He feels fine, he just likes to sleep really late on his days off.)

Re: Groundhog Day Monday
Slow moving here but not due to snow. Today is a cigarette smoke day and I sit and stew about that rather than be productive. Aired out the living/dining rooms.
We were to get 2" of snow. We have at least that but possibly more. In the villages, the boys gave up waiting on the school bus because they were too cold. It did come, 25 minutes late, but their mom drove them and says it should have been a snow day. The issue is blowing snow there - the wind is from the east and all the snow fences are designed to protect the roads from the prevailing north and west winds.
From up here I can't gauge the amount of snow but the roads are still covered despite the plows being through at least one.
And the Bookmobile was cancelled so there's another library branch closed!
I've got s2s, put clean sheets on the bed, watered the plants and refilled the water pans on the radiator. Will start the laundry and refill the vitamin dispenser and then have lunch.

Re: Groundhog Day Monday
taking a break - d Helia... (loved snow up to their bellies... now if that was water - the labs wouldn't think twice
)
D dee thank you... I never thought about the libraries being closed. I was going to go over to the library here and I am so happy you said something. The large library is 2 miles away lol. 2:30 in the am is early for a text... my dd's do that all the time if they are out having fun.. your ds is really working hard!
d Nancy...wishing you a good day as well! Glad you got to sleep in.
Starbucks was empty this am and now the upstairs is full (not like yesterday though) I think dd younger might join me for lunch... she usually goes to the fancy gym with the beautiful people (she said they are really nice) for lunch (this is where her physical therapy is and pool therapy is)
I had to laugh as a magazine said this club was "BEST FOR: Sophisticates interested in personal training or classes" I guess they don't want me..
that just made me giggle.

Re: Groundhog Day Monday
Home again from PT with Macs. Have rescheduled my PT to 1 p.m. so must head right back out. The best news is that Macs' physical therapist took his stitches out so he doesn't have to go to vet this afternoon. She said he's healing fine and doesn't need to be seen at vet, so that eliminates another trip out.
I will also stop off at grocery store later, I think. We are out of eggs and fresh fruits and some things like that.
Dh called earlier. When he gets home he will go to the office for a bit, then come home before he goes back out to bowl tonight.
