No snow here, maybe some tomorrow, in the meantime it is COLD here. High of 27 and I know for some of you that's a heat wave.
Leaving for work soon. Good news and bad or sad news at work. They are raising our wages in the next couple of months, don't really know how much for people who have been there awhile. Bad or sad news is they are cutting some of the management positions. We will lose our supervisor, and she has been so very good to all of us, I hate to see her job cut. They will be offered other jobs, to go up or down the ladder.
Was sad to hear about Leonard Nimoy too, have always been a fan of star trek. Dson in NC is a big fan too.
will try to stop by more next week, have been down a bit over some things.
No snow here either, Sadie. Did have a bit of rain on our trip to Bradenton and back. Taking the back way there is awesome I have discovered! Now maybe we'll figure on visiting friends there more often. Do plan to go down in a few weeks to spend 2 or 3 days with dfriend (the Memorial service we went to) -when the 'dust settles' as she says. Looking forward to being just her and me. Know we'll have a good time together and it'll be good for her.
Time to fix dinner -left overs. Guess I'll get my meds done first.
Kitchen cleaned up. New mess in it to clean up now.
Payroll done.
Bank done.
Got some groceries. DH informed me my plan for dinner wasn't enough to eat so I got some other things to add. I made something in the toaster oven, which is always a puzzle because I have scrubbed the temperature numbers off the face around the dial! I get it close enough, I guess.
So after his 2 plates of food, I suggested the extra thing I baked and he said no, he was stuffed. Yeah, I knew original plan was enough food!
He says he is at his lowest weight in years and years. We're not sure why. He doesn't have any other symptoms of being sick... now why can't I lose weight doing nothing to cause it?
LOL Lucylee. Your DH wouldn't be happy with me because I love to stay at home!
I am enjoying my day today I am glad for progress on some yard work today and feeling better. Got a red hat knit and wore it on my walk great ear protection with a bit of wind outside.
H. Got his new phone but they could not get his records Etc.from the old one so he has to try to get that info. entered.
Dd1 is home. It turns out that they think dd1 hit an ice patch inside the city limits and it disabled the sensor to something. So they reset it and she was good to go. They came on home. She had told dd2 to that she would call her when they got home. She didn't, but I called her as she walked in the house. She was going to pack and go to her weekend scrapbooking event. Lalalalalala! She said the highway wasn't bad but when she hit our city limits, it is bad. I am relieved that she is safe and back in town, but this trip really could have waited.
We are suppose to have snow again tomorrow and again Sunday. I went out just before dark and shoveled the drive. I needed to work off some frustration.
Yesterday dh's vacation time ran out. Next week we will get his last check. We have been paying for LifeLock by payroll reduction for at least 6 or 7 years. An employee was out of town on business and left a company computer in his vehicle and someone broke in and stole it. It had every employees info in it, including social security numbers. So far no one has had identity theft from it, but you never know how long a criminal might set on those numbers. So we want to continue the protection. We know LifeLock is on the ball. A year or so ago dh applied for a H arley D avidson credit card online. Within minutes he received a phone call and an email, verifying it was legit. So dh set up LifeLock to be deducted once a year from our checking account.
Another thing that we had payroll reduction for is a cancer insurance plan. With both of his sisters having had cancer twice, it would be foolish to not continue it. With tomorrow being the end of the month, I was worried that it would be canceled because we just received (finally) the paperwork he needs to fill out and send back. He called the guy today and he said there is a 2 month grace period and we will still be covered March 1. With the uncertainty of dh's biopsy, I needed the reassurance that we would be covered after tomorrow.
These 2 final details make his retirement process complete.
Errand day today was a grind. One of those days that I just had to set my teeth and get stubborn to keep going.
The cold was definitely a factor. The roads are a mess, and one of the delays I had to deal with in The Big City was due to sitting in a line of traffic trying to get around someone's fender bender at a main intersection.
Regular Friday after-work rush hour was a factor, especially at the grocery store. I'm guessing there also were additional people trying to stock up on food before we get more snow this weekend.
I got home quite late but luckily I put supper in the crock pot earlier today. I tried a new recipe for meat loaf, which I have never made in the crock before, and it turned out to be really flavorful.
