Thursday Thoughts

Hi everyone! My thoughts are that I wish I was in bed. No, I am not sick, just dead. Dead tired that is. Last night, I made Bible study and fed my car. I was unsuccessful in picking up meds, they were out, must do that tonight. I got some done on my cleanup for the videographer. Master bath and LR are done completely. Kitchen was supposed to be done yesterday and it is not so I am a day behind.

My carryover tasks from yesterday are: mail CD, mail checks, check animal org notes for ToDos and plan them, email lawyer, kitchen, dragon quiz for DD13 (did work some on this), check on/purchase tickets, pickup meds.

Originally scheduled stuff: Girls' Night Out with DD13, child support paperwork (should be a matter of changing dates), MBR cleanup (total disaster).

It does not look good for an early night as DD leaves at 8.

Banging my head on entity relationships in Visio at payroll. NOT having a good time.

For those who are questioning the fate of Feline Friend, nothing dreadful has happened. She has reverted to a board she used to post on, because her best friend is there.

Home again, didn't get here until almost 5 when the challah had risen to the top of the breadmaker. I've shaped it and it's rising again as we speak, just have to bake it then go to dneighbors. I stopped and bought some pimento cheese to take with it, a fabulous combination together.

Elizabeth, my mother said the same thing today:

My thoughts are that I wish I was in bed.

or that she at least could nap, whether she was in bed or not. Easy and quick dr appointment today.

I need to keep moving:
-turn on the oven to bake challah
-clear kitchen counters (I left stuff out, and dd has contributed as well)
-clear breakfast bar as much as possible (see above)
-li&t for a busy tomorrow
-feed the somewhat anxious dogs - Macs has his appetite back.

I got some weeding done in the front hens like to eat them after they are pulled. Finished up with kid care and the rest of my walk. Did some knitting. Net was down here for most of tbe afternoon.

We are home from a 24 hour whirl-wind fast trip to visit DSon/DDIL. One hour before we left, DMom decided she wanted to go with us. That made it a 4 generation trip. It went perfectly without any drama. After taking DD home (and unloading all the items she brought back), then dropping DMom at her home, we arrived home totally zapped. I put the 2 little ones down for a nap and just zoned out. Too tired to sleep but took zapped to do anything other than veg.

Supper was a choice of grilled cheese or blueberry oatmeal. It was the best I could do on a spur of the moment.

I need to get the balls juggling again - laundry, meals, cleaning, child care, paperwork, etc etc etc

Hello, villagers ~
Home from a very full day and evening, and immediately changed into pajamas and slippers.

First day of sewing camp was a lot of fun.

On the 1 hand, I was sorry I had to leave early to go to work. I left shortly after 3:30 because I had to stop at the post office, come home to change clothes and have a little supper, and get to work before 5:00.

On the other hand, it takes a lot of stamina to stay with the same group of people for over 12 hours a day, 3 days in a row. It's probably better for my energy level that I had to break it up between the sewing and the library job. I spent most of today with the sewing group and the evening at the library; tomorrow I will spend the entire day with the sewing group; and Saturday I will do some chores at home (depending on how early I wake up), work at the library 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m., and then go to sewing camp until 9:00 p.m.

We were slow at the library tonight. We finally learned that there was a school concert that started at 7:00, so kids and parents would have gone straight home after school to do homework, eat supper, and get dressed in good clothes. The concert was over around 7:40 and the library closes at 8:00 so there was a possibility of folks stopping by on their way home, but we stayed empty that last 20 minutes and bugged out as soon as we locked up.

I have some bookkeeping to do tonight and then I might cut some fabric, or I might read the instructions for a purse pattern and go to bed early.

Tomorrow the plan is to be sewing as much as possible from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. I should not have kitchen chores tomorrow because I helped set up all the tables and chairs at 8:00 this morning, I contributed my part of the pot luck meals (chicken salad sandwiches) and kitchen clean up today at lunch, and I am on the clean up committee at the end of the night on Saturday. I think I'm doing my fair share! Tomorrow we will have the most people of the 3 days, so there will be plenty of other hands to do kp duty.

Awake now. Waving from Friday morning, off the coast of Mauritius (look to the east of Madagascar on your maps.)

We still can't see land but we can see other ships. We saw one yesterday but aside from that, we've seen nothing as we crossed the Indian Ocean. There's also a sea bird out there this morning. I'd lean over the balcony rail to see more but I'm in my nightie and my balcony is immediately above the walking deck and we look down on the people going by. Therefore they can look up at me. Still don't want to get s2s yet. But soon.

We've been on board 7 days now. Seems like 4.

Wow, Kathryn, I wouldn't have guessed it is 7 days already. And it occurred to me while I was reading your post - I have been out of my state maybe 5 times in 20 years! And never out of the country. You're a lucky woman.

DH worked over 10 hours today. When he finally arrived I had dinner ready.

We have an awful traffic mess around here. A big artery north and south has been shut down for widening. 3 bridges are closed even though it's going to take them 2 years for this project. All that traffic has to come up on the main road through our county. This main road has a huge stretch very near us that is undergoing widening and new utility pipes and lights - which will continue a couple years. They have moved lanes onto the shoulders and changed the striping but it is bumpy and narrow and feels unsafe to me with bumper to bumper traffic. The snowbirds are still here, further clogging the roads and our traffic lights aren't synchronized properly for this much traffic. grrrr.

I made 2 trips through the traffic to the drafting office. I'm just praying I'm not in any accidents while all this is going on.

Harmony,[/b so sorry for the added traffic. I know you weren't counting on that when you built your new home.

The gravesite service for dhs dsis will be Tuesday at noon. There will be a visitation Monday from 4-8 at the funeral home. I am pretty sure that they settled on a noon gravesite service so that anyone from our hometown who wanted to come, could get there and home the same day. It is 3 hours each way. When dsisil lost her dh, she did not buy the plot next to him. Dniece was very thankful to find out that the plot on each side of him, is still unsold. I would have hated for her to not be buried next to him.

After talking to dsisil#1, we have decided that we will go there early on Monday. We will spend the night and then go home, late Tuesday afternoon. Dd1 and dgd18 plan to go Monday afternoon and be there for the visitation and service. I let dd2 know when it will be and she will have to decide what works for her.

Dniece told me that her dm had been sick for several days. She was in pain and depressed. One of her medications made her bones hurt. She said her dm had told her that at the end of this 2 month weekly treatment period, she was done. She said she wasn't going to spend years on chemo with no quality of life. As much as we will miss her, we wouldn't wish her back to suffer. But it sure hurts thinking of life without her.

I spent the day in pjs. I have been doing laundry and have been on the phone a lot. Monday I went to WM. Every day since I have planned to go to the grocery store and then talk myself out of going. I have no choice tomorrow, I have to go to the grocery store, bank, library and other errands.

Dd2 just called to tell me that they are back at their hotel for the night. Now I can go to sleep, knowing they are safe.
