Rainy days and Mondays...

Morning everyone. We have had a couple sprinkles and it is grey overhead so maybe more later. We did not have the all day rain Dee had, but I was watching the sky.

Yesterday was church and then at 3:00 there was a church picnic which I went back to. I'd gotten a salad together to take but the jello didn't gel. They had plenty of food and I got to talk with a couple people I don't see much.

Today so far I have all the dailies done and a bit of pickup from the weekend. Finished putting away a LOL, and I also cleaned out one big kitchen drawer and wiped and tidied that.

Yep it is raining her pouring actualy! Ack, time to get the feed out for the chickens. Shredder duty today for me. Waving to every one.

I'm starting to clean out drawers/shelves too, Harmony. Figure if I do at least one every day I'll have a good start before I leave here in June. Ideally I'd like to do one cupboard/drawer daily as I clean up the kitchen. Sure there's lots to get rid on in some of those spots. DD is looking more earnestly at houses northeast of here. She'd like to be moved before gd turns 18 (16 months from tomorrow but who's counting?) If dsonil gets the job with C oke he should be working in Apopka and that takes us quite a ways from here. Would mean dd finding a new job but she's confidant she wouldn't have a problem. She has several certifications in teaching and lots of experience with K-8. And her last evaluation (last week) had several "highly effective" areas marked. Said she'd never been given a "highly" before but lots of "effective". Just did what she always does.

Good morning and happy Monday! My house was not perfect, but reasonable for the foster cat videos Saturday. Lots of Briggs - he is our greeter. Shows his interesting features (probable desert bobcat ancestry). Cleo wanted nothing to do with strangers and hid. I kept taking her out and getting no cooperation. Finally, she had enough and we got great video of her opening a cabinet and going inside. Got shots of Keesha's 'launch', where she climbs on me from the sewing table. Stratton and Lara did not do much, just sat looking disgusted. We will probably just get stills from their videos.

Here is what remains on my list for the video prep work: MBR - sweep/mop, Lydia's room - sweep/mop, sewing room - sweep/mop (notice a pattern?).

This morning, I figured out my lists for the week. The current system I am trying is to have one page for each day of the week and a pending page. The goals for the day are listed on the proper page. Today's is rather full, but a lot of the tasks are short:

• Contact friend re Girl Scout cookies
• RSVP
• Dragon quiz (must finish by tomorrow, probably all that remains is fixing a mistake in the answer key)
• Cook - pot roast, cube steak, and black eyed peas
• Look up crocheted triangles to make ears for a stuffed cat
• Email lawyer re will
• Find out if Midsummer Night's Dream is appropriate for DD13 (one version they showed at this place had a homosexual couple, interesting, but I am not ready for the inevitable questions)
• Check on cat show volunteer schedule
• If not obligated on Saturday, arrange for car to get alignment (this can be done on the web and, yes, back to the car spa)
• Check ToDos from animal org minutes and schedule them
• Webwork - post the immediate pending stuff
• Pick up the stuff I left out last night

Okay, now it is raining hard. And very dark and grey. I had to run out to 2 places and get stuff for DH and limp through the traffic snarl. I need to find a back way to the industrial park.

Drawer tidy this morning was one big wide deep drawer I have all my mixing bowls, plastic bowls with lids, salad spinner and colander / strainers. It gets very messy and somehow I get lots of containers with no lids and have to purge every once in a while.

I wonder if blessed is getting snow?

"piddly" I like that word, Twins'. Does a good job of describing what I mean, lots of times.

Definitely rainy here. In fact, I made dd go back in the house and change shoes when I realized she was wearing a glorified flip-flop. What is it with teen girls and shoes, anyway. No weather comprehension, just because you have a few spring-like days. When we got to school, saw lots of flip-flop type shoes. Discomfort in the cold rain.

I am on my third load of laundry here. 2 are mini-loads. The first two are done all the way through put-away. And the last is just the worst-of-the-worst pair of HRH's jeans, that I don't want raking against other items.

Have had my new favorite smoothie of whole foods so I feel virtuous. (Yesterday's eating was abysmal. Stressed, nervous, and off-schedule.)

I have one dreaded phone call to make today. And one to dd35 that will be tough because she's at work. She had been working with another college and had no service on cell because of an unusual building, but I think that's over.

I finally just ordered a toaster, having given up on finding one in a store. The $30 Cuis inart Compact one briefly came down in price to $26 so I got it. I had complained in the Cleaning thread about kitchen week, that I had sticker shock, and where were the familiar $15 toaster prices. HRH was very close to buying a $79 one because it had the best rating and just hoping it would last longer. But it was higher because of features we don't need, not because of being well made. I was disappointed to see how many don't even have a convenient crumb tray, although their prices are high.

Lilac, safe travels and I hope the family has a meaningful gathering.

Hello Dear Ladies,

We got sunshine! Temps in the 70's.

But the pollen count is very high so won't spend to much time outside. I check the pollen count daily. I can't seem to lick this coughing and sneezing. Take Claritin and bought some cough medicine to help me sleep.

Doing laundry today.
