After dinner here.

A nice quiet day.

I shone at trivia but that's because two of the questions were on Canada!

I started my last book, which turns out to be set in Africa. I had no idea, thought it was a mystery novel about a women running a detective agency. It is, but it is set in Botswana. I'm a 10th of the way through and must finish it before we leave the ship because I don't want to carry it home. Dh and I did a fair bit of shopping yesterday and I need room for those things.

I wore one of the new shawls to dinner tonight and was pleased with the effect.

We are in the room for a moment and then will head to the lobby to sit and read. Neither of us feel like going to the show.

Dee, if I stop doing chores around here and go out to run errands, once I get back I "feel" as if I'm "done" and most progress stops. It's always hard for me to switch gears and begin again another set of chores. I will often come here to take a break, regroup my thinking, and then begin again. Or else I do nothing...

Kathryn, I had to look at the size of the island on my map and I noted that you are not so very far from Somalia...are you going that way? But considering that my map is 36" x 48" of the whole world, I guess you are a ways away.

Lucylee, as to your question of last night about worrying about privacy here... I do think about it often. I do try not to say anything much about DD's unless it's positive, because once I gave DD2 a link to show her a picture of something...that was years ago and I know she does not have the time to sit around reading all this... but one never knows. I think more of people figuring out who/where we are in regards to our business and never want anything negative put out there...and I know I gripe about DH in regards to this way too much, so yes, I think about it.

Quieter day here today than yesterday. Making a conscious effort to not sit in front of the news all day. It's depressing. I did drive up to bank; did a bunch of desk chores and reconciled a bank statement; worked in the kitchen; hand washed/soaked some laundry and put it through a short wash in the machine. It should be ready to hang up soon. Sorted all the other laundry, but not enough for a load yet.

You are right, Harmony. I took a break (or maybe it was more than a 'break') and I have been puttering along at a pretty good pace. There's been a whole lot of shredding going on. Have almost another trash bag full. I will finish up dd's a little later this afternoon. I've been working on a table that's been piled with things in the office. There's a very large printer & monitor, plus 11x15" paper on there. I'm trying to empty everything else and put like things together. Trying to do as much as I can over the next couple of months toward helping dd/dsonil move if that's what develops. That means I should have our own things pretty well ready to be able to pack easily as well. If that should happen in the next 6 or 7 months, chances are I'd come back down to help as much as I can. Admittedly I can't go for as long or lift as much as I once did, but I could help somewhat.

Think I'll go out and attack one drawer in the kitchen -trying to do one spot in there each day.

Hello Dear Ladies,

After a night of storms, we've got sunshine.

Code Black was called twice on my shift at Walmart. We all went to site to store. The first time wasn't so bad, waited about 30 minutes and then told to go back out. Second time the place was packed, looked like several people came to Wal-mart just to ride out the storm there. Saw families with their children in pjs and one couple brought their 3 dogs with them. :!: Seemed like all of us were on our cell phones talking to family back at home. But our little town made it through ok. Not so good for some of the neighboring towns and two of the TV channels had their towers out from the storm.

Another work day here. Did some laundry today so Monday isn't so busy. Made lunch, did dishes. Going to jump in the shower now.

Harmony I am heading south to South Africa after Mozambique. Years ago we decided to go around Africa rather than through the suez canal in order to avoid Somalian pirates.

I am home from a huge round of errands: bank, Petsmart, mall, eye glasses store for adjustment (they were too busy) JCC, other syngagogue, visited dmom, gassed up car, glasses adjusted (but not sunglasses, she was afraid to try it where I stopped), specialty gift shop for hostess gift for dfriends in FL, grocery, vet's office for meds, back to another glasses place to get sunglasses adjusted, then back to vet's office and home finally. I am feeling whipped and haven't unloaded the car yet.

In the middle of all that, dd texted me and wanted to know if we minded if she came home this weekend so she could hang out with Moses, which led to a discussion with her and dh about whether it was kosher to not use the dog sitter we had already engaged. (Who is the dd of friends within the community) So I think we are going to let dd do dog sitting and pay original sitter for one night (as a cancellation fee.) It sounds like dd really needs some Moses time.

For dfriends in FL I am taking a fru-fru candle in a metal tin, with two fancy-schmancy dishtowels. Should be okay in carry on bag.

While waiting for pizza, I should:
-finish unloading car
-reboot laundry?
-feed ddogs
-finish up dog instructions for dd
-call original dog sitter (I hate to do it, but....)

Pizza got here before I did any of that list. Or maybe I sat in my chair too long?

I am trying again...but dh saw original dog sitter at community event that he ended up going to. He had forgotten about it until I mentioned it. So he talked to her and I just need to ck in with dd now.

-finish unloading car
-reboot laundry?
-feed ddogs
-finish up dog instructions for dd
-text dd

HOme from LO appt. Counselor txt asking if we could come in an hour early. That worked well for us, giving us a cushion of time before ball practice starts.

This was the first time LO counselor has seen him while being on ADHD meds. She was thrilled with the change in his focus.

I was glad to hear her evaluation because I have found myself wondering if the meds are working this week. LO isn't *getting* the spelling words this week - reminds me of how he struggled before starting the ADHD meds. Although, I am continually amazed at how fast they push the kids now. I don't remember my kids having spelling in 1st grade (35 years ago). I do remember they were reading books with 3-4 character words like "See Dick run". LO's spelling words this week = suitcase, flashlight, bluebird, baseball, inside, outside, brainstorm, herself, lunchbox.backpack.

I stopped at a grocery store with a deli on the way home and picked up a quick meal. Not a healthy meal, but most definitely a Husband Pleasing one. :) Fried chicken, Cole slaw, macaroni salad, hot rolls. I don't want to think how many carbs that meal had.

We will be ready to leave as soon as LO gets his cleats on.
