You can go off and hunt dust bunnies and elephants.

Or simply sit out and enjoy the view while having a cold beverage.

I'll be off looking for delightful things to shoot with my camera and thinking of my childhood World Atlas which had pictures of the wonders of the far corners of the world and now, unbelievably, I'm in those far corners, hopefully to see the fauna for myself.

My morning started too early - dh had set his phone to Finland time which was the same as South Africa but they had daylight savings time last night so the clock jumped ahead an hour on its own. I didn't notice until after I had startled awake, unsure how it could still be dark at 6:40 but ready to move quickly as I had to dress and get ready for 8 a.m. church. Of course it was only 5:40 but by the time I figured that out, I was wide awake. Dh is napping now. I'm too wired and will probably be exhausted later today.

At 8 a.m. was Palm Sunday service in the Palm Court (a beautiful space at the bow of the ship), with real palms for us to take back to our cabins.

It was an interesting juxtaposition, as we were sitting there reading about Jesus triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the ship was being escorted into Richard's Bay by a fireboat spraying water to welcome us as this is the first time this ship has visited this port.

Then a delightful youth choir sang for us as we were coming alongside.

I've had a second breakfast and am now going to try and rest for 30 minutes.

Dh is still quite ill. It has been 5 full days and his system is still not normal so we've started the traveler's diarrhea antibiotics we brought from home. Hopefully that will cure him. Unfortunately, he's to limit his exposure to the sun and the clouds have broken and it is bright sunshine here. So I'll keep coating him in sunscreen and he's covered from head to toe so only his neck, face and hands are not covered by material.

Thankfully, I'm still fine although not eating fully. I think there are two reasons for this. First, I only had one bite of the salad, he had 1/2. Secondly, I threw up the contents of my stomach (granted, 30 hours later) whereas he never threw up so the food/bacteria/poison has been moving through his system which, of course, we've been slowing down with Imodium.

He seems fine in the daytime after being ill in the morning and sometimes at night. So he intends to come on tour with me.

Ken's food poisoning sounds quite severe. I do hope the meds kick in soon.

Washing, a load of towels etc, and another lot of smalls in from previously.

(((Ken))) hope his digestive issues are soon over.

I had a broken night of sleep due to checking up on LO and DH. DH came home from doing MPB repairs around midnight, then went back to MPB at 4:30am then back home at 6:30am. At bedtime I wrapped LO's neck in a wet compress to ease the skin cracking. I kept waking up during the night to check him. Having a whole night of sleep without interruption is on my bucket list.

This morning I will pick DGD3 up (long story why she isn't with us) on the way to church. This is my week to teach children church so my morning will be non-stop.

Also Dee my Dsnl helped me solve the problem of not being able to sign in, it was something with the keys/keyboard on the desktop Thanks for responding to my email. .
I have been married 44 yrs to my hubby, we have 5 kids all grown and on their own, and 4 Grandkids, Molly being the youngest and our only little Granddaughter.
We have decided to put our home of 40 yrs on the market we hope to be ready to do it this time next year, when writing down all that we will need to do, it became clear I was going to need a place to get accountability, vent, or just visit to get away from it, and this board was the first place I thought of.
The last Sunday of the month the Grandsons and I spend the afternoon doing something special, today we will have lunch, and we see the movie "Home", but first I have to get my
Morning Stuff and Sunday Desk duties done,hope you all have a great day.

LM... Did you happen to use a new type of sunscreen on LO??? One with PABA in it?? My son got the same type of reactions until I figured out the cause.

Helia.... People always drive to Sedona to escape the heat when it gets hot in the Phoenix area. Plus there are many areas along the streams and the Verdi River where people can swim... This is Phoenix's idea of "a day at the beach".

Glad you had fun on your hike..now you've had a taste of my hiking lol

I finished my garden beds and got my plants and sunflowers in the ground. The dirt I used to build up my garden has manure in it and this transplanted county girl forgot how much it draws flies lol. Oh well my tomatoes should be big and my giant sunflowers, which are suppose to grow 12-14 ft, will need all the help they can get.

Off to feed my Willie boy who at the moment is curled up on my feet in the bed. Then it's remove my foot prints, water my garden and make a grocery run. Yesterday it was 96* 15* above normal... And today should be the same.

LM when I was a child I used to get rashes in the spring from grasses & or the Sun. Or fertilizer weed killer on field for p.e. in school I had to wear long oants I finally did out grow it. But have to be careful about sun expisure and weal long cotton sleeves in the summer time.

I have made coffee, fed the chickens, brewed coffee, s2s done.
Journaling is underway now. Then q.t. (quiet time), affs. (affirmations),
5 grats (gragitude) list & 6 mit (most important things) to do, cards are up.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

Actually - we didn't see any of these. Lions are nocturnal, tigers are in India/Asia and bears aren't around here (not sure if they are only in Asia as well.)

Even if we hadn't seen anything, I would have enjoyed myself fully because the scenery was so gorgeous. It is really beautiful country here. But we also saw some things. Here's the list:

So it was a productive safari.

I'm sorry I didn't see elephants though. Maybe on Wednesday.

We've ordered pizza for dinner.

Dd wrote on the off chance we were online to say she can't get the car out of the garage because our fob doesn't work to open the door. We wrote back to say it was the correct fob and she wrote back to say a resident said lots stopped working this week so she's off looking for the super.

That's about all my news. I'm really tired.

Not sure pizza is the best choice for dh but that's what he wants.

Haven't cuop yet. We got home Tuesday night and were just exhausted, physically and mentally. Wednesday we just recuperated. Thursday am, dd2 called and said that dniece had called and they wanted to come that day and surprise us. Dn ended up texting me. Her, her db and dd8 made the 6 hour round trip to bring us a plant from the funeral, take us out to lunch and they both had bought beautiful thank you cards and had each written a heartfelt note thanking us for our love, emotional and financial support. We had a wonderful visit with them. They have always been so special to us. Friday I ran a bunch of errands. Yesterday I decided I better check in here and our internet, cable and phone was out. I ended up doing yardwork. The cable and phone came back on in a few hours, but the internet has been iffy.

We left Monday morning and 3 hours later were at dnieces. Dsisil and dbil arrived about 30 minutes later. Dsisil commented that she felt like she was getting what she calls "the crud". We ate lunch and then at 3 checked in our hotel. The visitation was from 4-8. Dbil wasn't feeling well so he stayed at the hotel. Dsisil rode with us. She went in and sat directly in front of the casket. She never moved for 4 hours. It is devastating losing younger dsisil and devastating watching dsisil try to process it. Both of my girls made it to the visitation. Dsisils oldest ds came and her middle son, his wife and 3 of their 4 sons came, also. After the visitation, dsisil and her eldest ds went to get her dh. They met us, our 2 girls and 6 of our 7 grandkids for a late supper.

Tuesday am, dsisil called. She was nauseated, felt faint, and had congestive issues. They decided to head home. She hated to miss the service but she was in no shape to attend. It was almost a 6 hour trip for them. She tried to get in to her dr. and they couldn't get her in until Thursday. By Wednesday am, she was in bad shape. They went to the ER and she was admitted. She is still there. She had pneumonia and several infections. Now her white cell count is very low. She has told me for several months that she feels like her non-Hodgkins lymphoma is out of remission. She goes to see her oncologist on April 2 to find out the results of various recent tests. We are all terrified that she is right. She is the one who lost her ddil in Feb. and is helping her ds with the 2 little girls. She told me that losing her dsister is like losing one of her children. She has always been a 2nd mother to her dsis. I am so worried about her. I do know she is a fighter and knows those little girls need her.

I have had a hard time trying to get back to our normal.

We had bought a new treadmill March 15, 2014. It had set in our sunroom ever since. We were waiting until we had new carpet installed, to move it downstairs and assemble it. With dhs back issues after all the furniture moving, I decided to call a local mover and they came by and had it downstairs, in 5 minutes. I assisted him in assembling it and we "got her done". Dh has been using it and he said he can tell that it is helping strengthen his back.

Guess I will go and get cuop. I have missed you dfriends.

I took a nap of sorts after we came home from church & lunch. DD did too. We were both tired for some reason. Now I'm trying to call our tax man. He tried to call me at 10:20 this morning (while I was in church). Number is busy, busy, busy. He's probably talking to another client about their taxes no doubt. I'm a tad nervous that we'll have to pay so the sooner I get this call over, the better.
