I'm in "Fake it until I make it" mode so I'm going to name today wonderful and hope that I can live up to the title.

Slept too short a time. Had to go to the bathroom at 5 and never made it back asleep.

Two loads of laundry are put away. The first of 4 remaining loads is in the washer now. I've also made the bed, loaded the dishwasher, tidied the kitchen and am having my tea and chocolate now.

I have a meeting this afternoon and will do grocery shopping on the way home. A list is sort of made up.

My lunch is planned, my dinner will depend on if I can get a roast or not. They were on sale for Easter but the sale continues until tomorrow. Of course, they may be sold out.

I have about 60 minutes of tidying to do before the unpacking is finished. Then I'll need to start opening the mail. There's a good-sized pile to process.

Good to see you opening this morning, Kathryn, tired though you may be. I slept well until a little after 3, then was up and down until nearly 6. Slept from then until 7:30 though. Got up for a bathroom break and decided I'd just stay up. Been working on a shopping list. Have an appointment for a perm at noon so will shop on the way there or on the way back. Haven't decided.

Dh was very busy yesterday (through the cold I'm afraid). DS-A called him from a town a little bit away and wanted to pick him up on the way back to get the '64 Monte Carlo (ds lets him drive it as he needs through the summer.) Well, it wouldn't start and kept backfiring through the carburetor so ds will have his 'resident' mechanic look at it. So gave him one of his older trucks. Drove it about 1/2 mile and it never dropped below 3300 RPMs at 30 MPH. Took it back and he ended up driving the dump truck back home. He's afraid to drive the truck he drove up home as it sounds like the brakes are down to the steel. Hopefully the car will be fixed in the next day or so.

Dh said DS-R had called last night to invite him to the local MLL (Lacrosse) game on Saturday, but he's going to the awards banquet for dgs15 (the one driving modifieds). Pretty well knows he'll get "Rookie of the Year" and a special award for being the youngest driver (most likely in all of NYS) to win an asphalt modified race. Tonight dh, ds-R, ddil#1, and dgs10 are going to a local college lacrosse game vs. Mercyhurst. DD and dh met one player from there when they played Florida Southern -made a point as this player's name is the same as our dgs10. Also met his dad who happens to have the same name as my dh. They exchanged pictures, etc and plan to meet tonight.

Guess I'd better get off this chair if I'm to make something 'wonderful' of today.

Good morning! I hope it will be a wonderful day here! It certainly is gray. It looks like we've had some sprinkles already this morning. There wasn't much rain yesterday after all.

I'm heading otd in about 10 minutes to work on band uniforms. Yes, I'm still a band uniform parent. I hope to leave after an hour b/c I still need to finish prep for class this afternoon - and I'd like to do a little tidying around the house. I think a bunch of students + 2 other adults will be there to work on the uniforms, so they should have enough hands without me. The adults know of my plan.

I found out last night that dh invited a new research scientist in his lab + his wife to our Wed. night dinner gathering tonight. Nothing like advance notice. She is a new sociology prof. at the big U and looks very "high end," if you know what I mean. They are both from Korea. Needless to say, I'd like my house to be a little more presentable when new people show up for a meal. Dh, OTOH, is trying to keep me from cleaning for them. Why??

Then, I'll be out of the house 1 - 6:15, my standard time. Today, I'm meeting with my mentee. Friends will be here for dinner between 6:30 and 7:00 pm.

I also need to make up a review sheet, a presentation sheet (for students to write down notes and questions about their classmates presentations), and a quiz. The quiz is Friday, but I'll have a sub on Friday, so I need to have it ready tomorrow. . .

Dh is taking my van today. The box he packed at his father's home in NL has arrived and cleared customs so he's heading over to the airport to pick it up today. I'll have his car.

So, that's enough cut out for me for the day!

Good Morning!

My stomach is still gurgling & flip-flopping but otherwise I feel much better this morning. My energy level is going back up and the brain fog is starting to clear. I've lost 5.1 lbs with this stomach bug. However, I would NOT recommend it as a weight loss tool or for any other reason!

Focusing on following the SHE cards. Even though I stay busy doing **things**, if it isn't one of the SHE cards then I don't get credit for doing it. Helps to keep me focused on the basics. It's a battle I fight with myself because I love doing the other things that call my creative side!!

Bathroom construction continues - Yesterday 3 trucks made deliveries. I think all the supplies are here now. Today they will be under the house (crawl space) extending the existing water and gas lines.

After a long negotiation, DSon accepted the job offer yesterday. It has been such a long draw out interview that DSon had kinda lost interest in it. DDIL said he was considering turning it down but they are giving DSon everything he wanted plus they threw in an additional $20k in salary. ...... so if DSon turned them down now it could hurt his credibility in the company. DDIL is springing into action with the cazillion task involved in moving the family. .The housing market in their area is so strong that DDIL is going to attempt to sell their home herself. DGD8 is scheduled to test for his Taekwondo black belt in June sp DDIL wants to want for that to happen before moving. Hopefully, that will give DDIL time to find a house there.

Today I slept in a bit today. My #'s were good I am glad. I fed the chickens.
H has left for work now for the rest if the day. I have soup out for lunch, dinner unsure as of yet.

Lady Maverick: that is good news about your ds. Hope the house sale, and finding a new home go well for them.

I have been working on laundry and getting rid of winter decorations, putting out spring/summer ones. The last item to do is to swap out paintings. That I might wait for dh's help. In the winter, I used ds's help. Mostly for second opinions. I'm looking forward to getting the paintings of snow off the walls so I think this seasonal painting project is worthwhile. I was so excited when the winter paintings went up and now I'm ready to look at the summer ones!

I'm exhausted from all my efforts which have actually been minimal. Need to keep an eye on the time since I'm not s2s yet.

The last load of laundry for today is in the washer. I might put on another load this evening after the morning load drys on the rack. But if it isn't dry by dinner time, I'll wait until tomorrow.

It is above freezing today, so I have the windows open to allow in some fresh air. The apartment is awfully dusty and I need to attend to that, but in the meantime, fresh air is making the place seem cleaner.

I was so excited when the winter paintings went up and now I'm ready to look at the summer ones!

Can understand that, Kathryn, having weathered many a winter up north. DS-A mentioned last year that all his workers get excited for the plowing, etc to start for the winter but are more than happy to look forward to the spring jobs of clean-ups, landscaping, mowing -especially after a winter like this one. Think they had well over a month from sometime in January to March sometime without a break. I will miss being home for all those spring happenings -like lilacs, daffodils, flowering crab trees. I'll miss them all this year -one reason to head back early May.

Have to leave in about 40 minutes for my perm but am feeling rather hungry already. Maybe I'll see if there's some little tidbit in the fridge I can use for my noon meal. (early)

Congratulations to ds, LadyM! I hope it will be a good job for his goals! It sounds like they really want him. Will it put him closer to or farther from you? Hmm.... yeah, not a great way to lose weight. I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

Well, I'm home from helping with the uniforms. There are enough hands there that I think the tasks will go quickly; we are packing up old uniforms and putting out new uniforms - and starting the tagging and organization of them as well.

Now, I need to finish the a.m. routine, work on prep for payroll, and do a bit of house tidying.
