Elizabeth, I 2nd the opinion, no bunnies! My DGS has one and she's adorable and so soft. But she's in a big box/cage and uses litter pan with wood chips and then they let it out to roam the house. Very messy, very smelly, p & p in the house when let out, tries to scrunch up and down in your lap when holding because they don't really walk at all but hop and feet snag clothes......and cats like to eat them...NO, NO, NO.
I got my dailies all done before I went out this morning. Once in a while (couple times a year) I meet with 2 friends for brunch. My friend Sandi I've talked about and another friend from way back when we first moved to FL. It was a wonderful time catching up. Sandi and I just have a zillion things to talk about and other friend just sorta looks at us in amazement...as I gather she would be much more quiet...but we all enjoy it.
Not a lot more done around here after I got back. I did stop and gas up the car and get some refills on our supplements we were running low on. I have a full schedule planned for tomorrow, since some of those things couldn't be done with the late start I had today.

I've opened all the mail. Sorted it. Will deal with it over the next few days.
Did read all the things from the National Arts Centre. I need to get online and book my theatre subscription for next year. There are 6 plays that interest me (out of 10 but you only need 4 to make a subscription.) I also have to get some tickets to free events and add those to the calendar. Those are dress rehearsals that we have access to due to supporting their charitable foundation.
Read all the upcoming cruise info on two other lines as well. Found some interesting itineraries that I'll watch for in upcoming years, then tossed all the pamphlets because we aren't going on another cruise this year.
Am very happy to be home.
While eating my lunch, dh suggested we walk to get a bagel so we waited until mid afternoon and went over. I had their tea and cake special. Which was divine (both the tea and the cheesecake, although the serving was 3 bites too large.)
We went to bank #1 on the way back and deposited half the cheques from the mail. We'll walk to bank 2 tomorrow and deposit the rest. Found a path that I knew must exist but we had never tried to find before (when it is very cold, you don't want to make a mistake and end up walking farther!)
Now I need to update Quicken with my expenditures and then reconcile all the credit cards and bank accounts so that I can be sure where I stand financially.

My dcousinMary's dson and (new) ddil and puppy came to see us. So happy for him in his new life with his love. We ordered in veggie pizza and enjoyed their little "chiweenie", which is a real thing now, evidently. (?) Half dachshund, half chihuahua. Their "Baby" looks very much like the photo at the site. Puppy just loved HRH.
We had fun with them and I'm so proud of how well he is doing. Was a little concerned (but tried not to show it) when he told me that his mother has started a second, part-time job in addition to her full-time work as manager of a deli. I know that his ddad has such a heart condition that working is out of the question, and medical costs are high for him.
The house looked... ... lived in.
Oh, well. Dd16 had just gotten the new chest of drawers finished and placed in her room. Before that, hundreds of parts/pieces had been spread out, slowly coming together between the dining and living spaces. And we'd hardly gotten anything else done since much was a two-person job.
By the way, after going back and forth in a love-hate relationship with this type of assembly, dd's ultimate verdict is, "I love IKEA". She's very proud of her work. When the 8 rather complicated drawers rolled right into place, she was beaming.
I'm a little surprised at the ... I guess you'd call it "off-gassing"? The wood has no odor but as she started putting in the drawer bottoms, made of some type of quarter-inch covered particle board, the odor was pretty strong. The covered surface that will touch clothing is odorless, but as I picked them up to try to sniff out what it was, I realized all the edges were pretty smelly, so I guess it is the gluing of the particle board.

Spent the evening talking to my music friend on the phone. I'm exhausted as I also dusted, then tidied the kitchen and finally started putting away a few little things from the trip. Turns out I have 1000 rand leftover and don't trust the mail to send it to the lady I met in the Townships so I'll just convert it back to Canadian dollars (it's worth about $100.)
Paid the bills due today (or earlier.) I had prepaid the US credit card and then forgot to take it with me on the trip so had to pay the ship account with C$. Sigh... I handled the money for the trip very badly all around, including forgetting my Australian and South African cash when I left. Luckily we got by with no cash in Australia and I had enough in South Africa but then failed to give it away at the end of the trip (I thought I was giving the excess to the Salvation Army but gave the tip money instead so ended up with about 500 rand, and came home to find another 500.)
