I didn't think 9 year olds were allowed to attend :D
I'm with you, RR. Harriet's dd was not quite that old when we first met her -maybe 7 or 8 and that seems like 3 or 4 years ago. How CAN she be growing up so fast?

DD was going to A ldi's after work today to pick up a couple of specials. I picked up 2 boxes of coffee k cups that I thought were French Vanilla the other day -when dd went to put them away, they're both Columbian. So she was taking those back. They also had 12-packs of Cappuccino on sale for $4.79. That seems to be dsonil's choice since he sampled some of it a couple of months ago. I want to try one and see how they are too. I've been buying 18-pack at WM for $7.99 but this would be cheaper if they're comparable in taste. I might buy some to take home (they only have them this week -don't usually have the cappuccino).

She's also picking up a glider/rocker for the front porch.

It's amazing how far back we have known each other! I remember when Harriet's dd was three and when ds graduated from HS and drove through a field. I recall Kathryn's ds in HS, and her dd turning 21, I think. Lucylee's ds was at college town I think when I first became aware of him, and he has 1.5 children now. RR just got married about a year ago, right before she retired, I think. Helia's ds is just a year behind my kids in school but he probably should be in HS still.

Nice time out with neighborhood ladies. Need to continue to connect with them as I feel more isolated not working and not into everything at temple (thank goodness!) One needs some extra support right now - her 90-something father lives with her and she keeps her two grandkids two days a week and works two more days. She was going to try to meet us today at the tea room but was held up getting blood work with her ddad and really needed sIome "me" time away from him. We all stopped off at her house for a hug when we got back here.

It's late to be lying down but I am going to set a timer for perhaps 30 minutes. My energy is sagging badly. Dh has a temple meeting at six so probably won't be home until 7:30 at the earliest.

I lay down for a half hour. Then got my dinner on the table while dh and ds got theirs ready. We ate out on the balcony which was lovely and then ds and dh took off. Dh has a concert this evening, a long way away. Ds is giving The Third Amigo a ride tonight to go pick up his motorbike and then ds is off for a surprise 12 hour shift. Dfs graduates from basic training tomorrow so ds is joining dfs's wife and they'll go to the base (2+ hours from here) for the graduation. Thankfully, ds will be able to sleep in the car and doesn't have a shift tomorrow night.

The dishwasher is now running, the crockpot is soaking. I'll clean it when the sun goes down. I was getting hot working in the kitchen but not as bad as I thought it would be. Then I realized I still had my hat and sunglasses on!

The apartment complex walking group is starting up tonight and I'd really like to go. It is only 30 minutes and I'm hoping they are all old and my knees will be able to tolerate it. We'll see. They don't seem overly bad right now. I have a timer set and will re-evaluate when the time comes.

I've been around one website or another since the last quarter of 2002. I read P & P book years before that. I remember thinking, 15 minutes at a time cleaning out drawers - that won't work. I'm more of a dig right in and work till it's done kinda gal. But as we all know, 15 minutes consistently works great!

Discovered the mostly empty hamper...wasn't really empty. I'd sorted and put a full basket over in another spot so DH wouldn't trip on it on the floor... and I'd forgotten about it. So I am late working on laundry today. 1 LOL hanging up and 1 twirling away right now. That'll leave 1 for tomorrow.

Since it's almost the end of the month and Friday (payday) is actually in May, I was able to do some mth end work. I got payroll taxes submitted and wrote our paychecks tonight.

Dinner was great, I made a roast beef in crockpot with potatoes and I made gravy and had leftover cauliflower in the refrigerator. Dishes are done and crockpot is soaking.

I'm rather tired, got a lot done today. DH was in a mood, I could tell he was really over-tired. He was out early to get truck to the landfill and now he's off to youth group. Sometimes I don't really like hump day when we are rushed at the end of the day.

Hi everyone . Quick check-in , I'm on my phone. Just wanted to see if it would work.

Our site is working faster today than it has the last few days! Thank you Kathryn!! ;)

I remember reading posts here for a while at least in 2006, maybe sometime before that before I started posting. All our dgrkids were fairly young then. Our oldest dgd-k is now 20, the next two dgds will be 18 this summer and graduating high school this spring.

The main task for today was to work on the other half of the dining room floor. We have been using clr full strength with a scrubbie pad. It is not a fast process, but seems to be working, the floor looks a lot better. Dh scrubbed and I rinsed. Then I took a nap!

Got well over 8,000 steps in today. However at supper time I suddenly developed a Charlie horse and was just hobbling. It's better but still there. Hope it's gone in the morning. Definitely want to keep on keeping on!

Aaacckk!! so busy today!

Up earlier for early school run, errands in 2 towns, getting car inspected/oil, Desk Day, agreeing to have dd's young man over for supper.

TaDas included a half-hour of floor exercises this a.m. early.

Ohmigoodness the posts here today are so interesting and I don't have time to read well or respond so that will be on my mind for morning. I am nodding off and had better get some shut-eye!

Taxes are done but still have to review.

Remembered I had a loss that I could apply so redid the taxes so I claimed all the capital gains and then applied my loss. That turns the amount I owe into a refund. Woot!

Dh is home and we are off to bed now. He'll be the second set of eyes on the taxes tomorrow.

I still haven't done my physio so may do that before bed.

Hi everyone! I just made reservations for my summer trip with DD13. I was planning to stay at a KOA cabin, but the one in Denver only has the deluxe, not the basic ones. For half the price, I got a hotel room with fridge and microwave. Unfortunately, the hotel's pools is out of commission, a big minus for DD, but I decided to reserve it anyway. If I find better, I can cancel right up to the day before.

Gotta go, I am setting up a new printer/scanner and it will boot me off the internet. I did go to FedEx to get my stuff scanned, but it would cost a little more than my new equipment.

Tonight I switched out my winter clothes for my spring and summer clothes. I wish I would have done it earlier because I had bought some new stuff that I probably don't need. At least what I bought is pretty classic so I will just enjoy it. The weirdest thing, I was trying on capris and there was a pair that I could zip and button that I bought 5 years ago when I weighed 22 lbs less than I do now. My dm told me that after seeing me at my dsisils funeral, my db thought I was too thin and pale. At the time I thought that was weird because I haven't lost weight. I guess I am shrinking regardless of not losing weight. That seems weird and impossible.

Dh told me when he called this evening that he is ready to be home. This is the first time we have been apart overnight since he retired. I have missed him but I have stayed busy.

Tomorrow I have a bunch of errands to do.

Dh's dsis wanted to be there for the surgery but with her health, it is just not a good idea for her to make the trip.

When I think about the surgery, I get panicky. I will be so glad when it is over and we are home.

Guess I better head to bed.
