Congratulations to DS, Harriet. Wise beyond his years. Where do we think he gets that from?!

Got the last of the month work done. Can't do the spreadsheets, waiting for a receipt from DH.

Picked up paper messes around here that were driving me bonkers. Big stack of aluminum sample books carted back to the office. Stack of papers pertaining to projects being bid or proposals typed brought to office also and put away as best I can. It's this in-limbo stage that creates the most mess, and DH has a habit of scattering said papers all over, wherever he is when he has papers in hand...mostly in the kitchen. It. Drives. Me. Crazy. I can clean and tidy and declutter, but this stuff makes everything look so bad. I think I would be willing to keep working till the end of our lives if it wasn't for the mess in my HOUSE.

Exercised. Practiced music (been doing this every day, slowly getting my skills back up to what they were). Folded 1 LOL. I guess that's all my accomplishments today.

Home from PT with Macs - weird texts from religious school director, spent awhile on the phone with bookkeeper trying to figure out where it was coming from. Lots of juicy info shared. :)

I am going to try to finish a.m. routine and straighten for dcleaning lady for tomorrow, now that I'm home again.
-make the bed
-clear kitchen counters
-start a lol
-straighten MBR
-clear kitchen table

Back from our errand. Since it was tax day, they had 5 people waiting, curbside, to take your envelops and sort them into the right location (different things go to different processing centres across the country.)

Then we went to Walmart and got me a knee brace. Dfs blew his knee out, again, on the last training exercise (4 days in the bush) and he has a fancy one with metal to stop the knee from twisting when he walks. He said it is working so I decided to try a simpler brace. I've been thinking about this for 2 weeks now. I have been thinking of him all this week since we were both laid up with our knees and he called while I was icing mine last night. He can't ice his because there's no place with ice in his dorm.

He'll have graduated by now and is with ds and his wife for a celebratory dinner in Montreal. He has to be back to the base by 9:30 and leaves tomorrow morning at 5:30 for his cross-country flights to his next training base (on Vancouver Island.)

Dh and I decided on leftover pizza for dinner tonight. Dh just started it. We were going to have Subway but were out too early to eat dinner.

I found a knee brace very helpful when my knees act up, Kathryn. However the kind that just slips on never seemed to stay put. Finally bought a more expensive one that had strips that velcroed over each other -don't know how to describe it. But I sent that with dh since he was having so much trouble with his knee. Then mine decided to go south as well. I had just the strap around my calf just below the knee for a while and that seemed to help. There have been numerous times over the years that I've had to use a brace and have always found them helpful. Sure hope you find some relief.
It. Drives. Me. Crazy.
Me too, Harmony. I'm forever picking up paper here and there isn't even a business. Mostly it's dsonil but dd contributes her share to that too. Thankfully it doesn't spread to her job. I did throw away the container to a pair of Dr S choll's inserts that belonged to dsonil last week and it just hit me this afternoon that dd mentioned after I put it in the recycling bin that he wanted to keep it for storage. :o  Oh, no problem! It was in the recycling bin -easy to retrieve. Only problem was we both forgot and the recycling went yesterday. So far he hasn't looked for it. He has had lots of back discomfort and he did mention yesterday that his back has been so much better since he started using the inserts (orthotics). So maybe he won't want to store them at all???? She says hopefully. :?

Dee: I bought the velcro style. It was a lot more but dh (gotta love him) said because I was hoping to lose weight, if my legs got smaller, the x-large brace wouldn't fit anymore so to buy the velcro one since it could be made smaller.

I have barely moved today. Maybe dh will go for a walk with me. I'm only at 3700 steps at the moment.

We had our pizza, so there's nothing else I can eat today, my calories are gone (although I might break down and have an apple later since I'll be hungry.) I'm doing well with my fibre intake. Everything else isn't great but a good start.

We watched an episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun, then the Daily Show where the kids were in the audience. Then the episode 2 days later where Neil Degrasse Tyson was on.

Dh did go for a walk with me and I managed another 5K steps (!) and we garbage picked some wood for the balcony project and some plant pots. Three nice large ones for me and a half dozen gallon size for the plant sale at the church (they are always short large ones.) On the elevator on the way up a woman asked me if I needed more and she'll bring me her supply from the cottage. (We phoned to confirm they'd be OK with lots of big ones arriving on Monday.

Next up is paper taming the living room and then some stretching before bed. Fitbit just sent me an email about meditation, destressing and decluttering (3 different articles) so I would like to read those as well.

Dee: Looks like I'll be returning the brace. I can't bend my leg enough for walking so it hurts more to walk in it than without it. It was also very tight and took two of us to put on. If I had to keep from bending my knee, it would be useful, but I need to bend, almost march-like, to walk without steady pain.

When it comes to my hair, I can't win. She trimmed the sides to the length of the back, which is about 1/2" below my ears. This is going to be a long process, because the last gal put in a bunch of layers that I didn't want and then proceeded to use the thinning scissors on my thin hair. I think I will need to put the sides behind my ears until it grows out some. Otherwise, it looks like a bowl has been put on my head. Dh said it looks like I am trying to hide a bad haircut. BUT in the grand scheme of life, this is no big deal.

Dh got home about 3:30 today. This morning the reality of this surgery hit me like a lead balloon. I was just in a complete tizzy. I am so thankful that dd1 is going with us and planning to stay.

It is starting, my stress level is messing with my bs levels. I was going to go to bed and it's running low enough that I don't dare go to bed until the snack I have eaten, drives it up some.

I had intended to run all errands today but after the haircut, I decided to call it a day on the errands. So tomorrow I need to run errands and then come home and clean. Saturday and Sunday the 2 little girls each have 2 games. I plan on doing laundry, mowing and packing Saturday and Sunday. I don't want to clean after tomorrow if at all possible.

Congratulations to Harriets ds. I am so happy for him. How is baby Caroline doing?

Dh's right knee is swollen. He said that if it doesn't straighten up, that after he recovers from this surgery, he will need to have it checked out.
