Hello Dear Ladies,

We got sunshine!

5 things. Loaded Dishwasher. Took a Shower. Helped Dbrother this morning. Paid two bills. Get ready for work.

Going in at 1 o'clock today. Our "new" boss will be there, but off for the weekend. She lived in Nigeria and London for several years as a child and has a lovely British accent. She has never worked for WM, never worked retail so she learning a lot from us.

Life at home is fine, not perfect but okay.

Have a great day everyone!

For me, the book is less scary than the roller coaster. I can imagine myself decluttering. I can't imagine even standing in line for a roller coaster (except the extremely tame kiddie ones at fairs.)

I've got dressed. Washed the plant pots and have stored them on the balcony. Came up with another, slightly less messy, way of using cornstarch on my feet (brushing it on with a blush brush, rather than putting my foot in a pan full of cornstarch.) Did my floor exercises.

Good morning everyone! And a late morning it was today. I had to drive in yesterday, so my alarm was later. Guess who forgot to reset it and had to drive in again today? The good thing is that my oil light did NOT come on again. It came on when I started and stopped the engine yesterday, despite being in the mid-range of oil level. I added half a quart anyway and, at least for now, the problem is fixed. Needless to say I have stepped up my car efforts. I have applied for a loan, made an appointment to see one I hope will work out, and made an appointment for my mechanic to look at it. Hey, that's 3 of my 5 right there! Also fielded several animal org phone calls (that's 4!).

Yesterday was extremely depressing, as I worked on my budget to figure out how I can fit car payments in. The short answer is that I can't. Period. I have some savings left, that will actually completely cover the car I am looking at, but I want to INCREASE my savings not decrease them. However, it is not possible for me to keep my job without reliable transportation, resulting in an even worse decimation of my savings. Gotta get real cheap, but I already was real cheap.

Tonight, DD13 and I will look at a car and maybe see a movie (at home!).

My 5x5
1. Make appointment to see potential car - DONE!
2. Apply for loan for that or another car - DONE!
3. Make appointment for mechanic to see potential car - DONE!
4. Finish work on trends report and associated subreport - In progress
5. Start work on summary report - Not started yet

I'd really like to be where Harriet's DD is. I would also like to have foster cat Briggs' DNA checked like she mentioned yesterday. It would be interesting to know if he is a hybrid or if domestics can have teeth and bones of a bobcat. Also would be curious to know how much (if any) wild content he has. The only temperament difference with him is that he is very anti-social when he is not feeling well. Not that he will bite, but just stays in a room away from me and the other cats. This, however, is within the behavior range of a domestic cat.

Totally missed yesterday, and must go back and take a “look” at Lilac’s haircut. (((HUGS))) BTDT, although I haven't read the story yet, I know all too well about disappointing haircuts!

That was my first order of business yesterday, scheduling haircuts for dh and me. Beautician didn’t get back to me until about 9:00 p.m. and she couldn’t do the day we wanted next week, so I have scheduled appts for 3 WEEKS from now. (I didn’t really need a haircut yet anyway, but dh is going to look like a throwback to the 70s by then.)

Yesterday also involved
* 2 ticket orders for future events, 1 online and time-consuming
* Phone call to confirm dh’s meds arrival
* Preparing and mailing gift card to dfriend who helped us with auction stuff
* Phone call to bank to confirm automatic deposit
* Phone call from dmom
And dgs with us all afternoon. He accompanied me to the
* Bank
* Drug store
* CVS
* Post office
* Chicken place for supper
He and I also enjoyed some time outdoors (but I never got my “official” exercise in.)

After he left, dh and I went to see The Avengers. Ho-hum. Those kinds of movies are REALLY not my favorite. If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all, and they are just stupid to me. I told dh not to take it personally, it was definitely a guy-thing. I bet there were 10 guys for every female in the theater.

So… today…
Enjoyed rollercoaster ride via Harriet’s dd… but I’d rather ride a VIRTUAL rollercoaster than the real thing, LOL! (Used to LOVE them. Sign of getting old, I guess.)
And BIG, BIG WTG to Harriet’s ds!!! Congratulations!!!
Congrats to WonderBoy and DangerBoy, too!!! * SMILE * “Is it possible to be too happy?” That is just precious.

Thinking of Mr. Dee today… saying a prayer all goes well!

Now I find myself wanting to order Cathy’s book… wondering if ddil would like to read it. Really want to get ddil on the Flylady system but don’t want to seem too “mother-in-law-ish” and of course, I have tremendous difficulty following the system of anyone. (I would steer her in that direction to keep my privacy here in my Safe Zone, but I also think it works, and I would not mind showing her my card file… but just don’t want to seem pushy or anything.)
DDIL is very excited about getting organized in the new house, though, and although she and ds are definitely challenged in this area, I continue to hope the new house will be a new start for both of them in this department!

Waving to TwinsRunKittyKathrynHarmonySadieElizabeth… and Nancy… and EVERYONE ELSE who may show up later!!!

5 for today… Hmmm…
[ ] change sheets
[x] check on insurance wellness check online
and nooo, they still have not received info from doctor's office... shaking my head... sent them an email explaining the situation
[ ] walk
[ ] dust
[ ] vacuum * with focus in laundry room zone!
Tomorrow is another day.

I also have a really dumb haircut. The last 3 I've had were almost shoulder length with a long-ish layer cut a few inches off the bottom. It waved nicely by itself even if I just let it air dry. This last lady, she was pretty old and maybe didn't recognize the cut, so she tried to get a layer in but did it about an inch from the bottom and made the whole thing collar length. Collar length is ok but with the odd layer, it is just that - odd. I have no time to fuss about it though... and for some reason I just don't really care. I don't think anybody in my life / acquaintance cares what I look like. Really.

Elizabeth, we're in the same boat. Not boat - CAR! We have a dinged fender, a dinged hatch and bumper, and a scratch along the side. The AC leaks. But the rest of it works. We could buy something else, which we would do if it needed a big repair like transmission or motor... but DH keeps fixing the little stuff...and we're stubbornly hanging on to our savings. I'm interested in what you end up with.

My five:

Started out on front porch. Blew off the leaves. Why do all my jobs morph into something way way way bigger? Because I have no time for focus cleaning, I guess. So, I had to put away the 2 china sinks sitting out there, pulled the car out of garage and lowered the stairway into attic space...no way could I get them up there to store. Too heavy. So I rearranged some boxes on top of shelves and put them on top and covered, also hung some other stuff up in garage. Tried to wipe chairs, the 2 plastic Adirondack chairs were really bad so I used magic eraser on them. Of course, since I was going to hose the 4 chairs off after washing, had to drag the hose over. Ended up hosing whole porch off, windowsills and windows and front door and then whole porch and plants across and curbing and one planter..... since car was out I hosed that too. Sheesh. 2 jobs done so far.

(except the extremely tame kiddie ones at fairs.)
Nope, not even them, Kathryn. :lol: Still up & down.

Love your dgs's quote, Harriet. I guess he's right -never can be too happy. Love it! Kudos to both of them. Sure brought a smile to my face and my heart. There's nothing quite like having my heart smile! :D

Dh's surgery at first was planned for noon today. DS-A had to be at his Dr's shortly after 9 for a shot this morning so was taking dh with him and then to the hospital (was to be there at 10:30). I had just gotten to church here when dh called and said things had been moved up an hour -didn't have to be to the hospital till 11:30, so I assume surgery was planned for 1 pm. Now I'm at that nervous, waiting stage. Don't expect to hear anything for a while really, but it's hard not being there and even harder waiting. Oh why did I let dh talk me out of being there?????? :roll: This too shall pass..............

Went to see dsisil after finishing work at church. Wanted to be home for any phone calls so headed home about noon. Napped some since I slept poorly last night.

My 5x5?????? Hmmmm.....I should get something done to show for my day shouldn't I!
1. Dishes
2. Put away 5 things on the screened porch

3. pick up the bedroom
4. clean off desk in entryway
5. Do a load of laundry
-think I HAVE to, I'm all out of undies. :oops:

I didn't get my 5 x 5 posted earlier, just went on out to do the errands. Went AWOL and ended up at the mall, where I purchased myself a dress and cardigan for graduation festivities. May wear it next week too for dd's but probably would be best to be in different outfits for photos!

went to:
bank
grocery
lowes (got more flowers, another tomato, and zinnia seeds
J j ill at mall
Home goods
walked through consignment shop - was asking if they took fabric consignments - they don't - but the shop manager might be interested so I'll go back through next week

When I got home, I started challah in the breadmaker.

With the rest of the day I'd like to:
-nap
-fill in containers with potting soil
-clean out ds' car (dd took my garage door opener, so I don't go through the garage to drop off trash and recycling when I come in)
-move the second raised plant bed into location, dump pebbles into the bottom and figure out how much more I need
-plant pepper plants in the original raised bed
-water outside plants thoroughly - we don't have rain in the forecast until middle of next week
-shabbat dinner (fish, asparagus, butternut squash?)

Going for the nap challenge first. ;) Will set a timer too.

Hi Everyone! :) It's a nice sunny day here, no clouds at all and temp is 82* - perfect.

Sending congratulations to Harriet's ds for his new promotion. Also to dgsons both for their science fair awards! I took the roller coaster ride also! My days of real rides are way in the past. I can still do the merry-go-round and the congo river ride at Busch Gar. but no up and down! :mrgreen:

Waiting with Dee for word of dh. Prayers said for success and quick recovery!

((Harmony))...I care!

Waving to everyone.

My Five by Five:
***Take dgd13 to school at 8:45 am
***Tidy Kitchen and Bedroom
***Brush both dogs
***Grocery list made/ send dh to w-m/ put away groceries
***Reorganized my sewing area (includes moving two tables, one small rolling cabinet, reorganizing supplies, etc.
All completed now! (My sewing area is in the family room. This is where we had the roll away bed set up for dgd13. When the whole family was here (all 3 families) on Easter this is where all the dgsons played most of the day and some of them had been rooting, so everything was out of place and needed set straight, which I couldn't do while dson-T and family were here. (Too busy and not enough room to move around!) But it's all done and I'm happy now!

I think now I will see what's for dinner and after kitchen is cleaned up again relax while I watch the Lightning play first game of the series vs. Montreal.

I wanted to add a A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY - BELATED - TO RAMBLIN ROSE! So sorry I missed it here yesterday. Hope you had a wonderful day! :)

DH texted me a very brief message: "Out at 4:09". So I take that to mean that surgery is over and he's on the way to DS-A's house with DS. I have no idea yet how the surgery went or exactly what was done. Not sure I will know tonight. But at least I know he's somewhat okay at the moment. I'm sure he'll get to DS's house and sleep. Hoping he'll call later with some info -if he knows (or remembers) any of it. :roll: Aarrgghhh....this is why I needed to be there! And to take care of him. I have no worries about him being cared for either at DS's or at when he returns to our RV at the campground. They're already lining up with care and food. :lol:
