Up at 5'ish and started on the day. I am excited about today and dreading it at the same time. I am excited about welcoming family into our home. This will be the first time DD and I have been together at Mother's Day in over 5 years. I think DSon is coming today (he was stuck in airport with bad weather the last I knew). I am dreading how busy the house will be and not having enough bandwidth to spend time with each family member. The time at these family gathering always fly by.

LO and DGD3 just had a misunderstanding that ended in LO biting DGD3 on the arm. REALLY?!!! A six year old biting?!?! I know there are moments that DGD3 totally frustrate LO, but this is not acceptable behavior at all. Goodness! The sun isn't even up yet! I hope this is getting all the days frustration out of the way and they will get along the rest of the day. They do get along 99% of the time, but that remaining 1% of the time is a doozy.

Table set up for plates, napkins, cups and silverware. I had everything for these group meals in individual plastic tubs so it was easy to just set out and *TADA* done. Everything is available & ready for serve yourself meal. The table I set up is perfect size for the wall space in the kitchen. It is out of the way but easily accessible.

Next is setting up the drink table/area. Hum….. I'm thinking the kitchen counter bar is a good spot for the drinks
Thinking it through….
** Coffee pot - cups & condiments ….sugar (real, stevia & Splenda), creamer, stirrers,
** Tea - 2 gallons of Sweet tea, 2 pitchers of unsweet tea, cups, ice
** Lemonade - gallon ready to pour
** Flavored water - individual flavor sticks, couple dozen cold bottles of water
** Cups for cold drinks
** Cups for hot drinks
** Paper towels for aut-oh spills.

It seems it is either feast or famine with me being on PC. Either I am a board hog or don't touch a keyboard.

Ice bagged - 3 gallons of ice should be enough for the drinks since it is cool today. Plus the ice maker is making more ice now to have as back up.

DGD3 is happily watching princess show on TV. LO is sitting on the floor in the hallway thinking about what he did.

Next up - Put baked beans together. Normally I bake them in the oven but I will be gone this morning to church so unable to monitor them. I'm going to use the crockpot setting on the instant pot to cook them and hope for the best.

Good Morning, Lady M and all those who follow!

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a phone call from ds before he went to bed this morning. When I asked him how many new mothers he met today, he said he didn't know how many were having their first baby but the birthing unit is filled to overflowing. They have 8 labour rooms but one is out of commission. They have four triage beds. There were 11 women labouring in those spots, plus 2 in the waiting room (boy do I feel sorry for them!)

We'll get together on Wednesday as that's the next time during daylight we are both available.

I'm just having tea and chocolate now. The timer for my eggs (for my lunch) just went off. I've cut the veggies for lunch as well and put the drinks in the fridge overnight so they'll be cold. Just have to put the tossed salad in a container and get another container for the salsa and I'll be done my lunch prep. Still no idea what we are doing for dinner. I'm leaning towards either burgers at home or Subway. I won't go out tonight because 1) no kid is available, 2) I'll be exhausted and 3) it will be busy and overpriced.

Hum....not sure about this .....LO is in time out near the library. He is currently reading books in time out. I am torn.....reading is always encouraged.....but but but but ......should reading be allowed in time-out? Hum....... Where OH Where did I put the child rearing instructions/manuals????

Next up -
** monitor DGD3 while she picks up the gazillion game pieces she just dumped in the living room floor
** Prepare breakfast = Breakfast burritos from freezer stash. Just need to heat up and serve. easy and quick

Reading during time-out is OBE. LO and DGD3 have restored peace between them. LO is out of time out.

Next up - get everyone dressed, teeth brushed, hair done for church....including myself.

Have a wonderful Mother's Day, everyone. We're not particularly celebrating. Mother's Day is understandably difficult for dd so we're trying to ignore it. Though that won't be the case at church. She's done a gorgeous presentation for Mother's Day in power point. Now to get to church to make sure everything shows up on the screen.

Hi, everyone. Hmmm... we had some kind of pretty Mother's Day page up on our screen in sanctuary, too, Dee. I noticed it during rehearsal. Wonder if there will be more to it, or just the one "page". I often call that our "overhead projector" though I suppose it is more sophisticated than that.

We enjoyed rehearsal and dropped by home for healthy breakfast. Now need to head back out for church.

Nice email from dd35 following card yesterday. The boys had more to say! They had forgotten to write what the baby would say, and all 4 had a different interpretation.
