Today is a typical Monday catching up after the weekend. Sometimes that's good.
Very social weekend. Started Saturday morning with the sewing group meeting.
Stopped to buy some groceries at Sam's on the way home, and was pleased that the store was not as crowded as I was afraid it would be on a Saturday.
Yesterday we went up to Younger DSis's for family pot luck lunch. Although the weather was not nice enough to be outside very long, DSis's fiance grilled burgers and brats for the first cookout of the summer. (Yummy!) DMom is feeling quite well these days and she really enjoyed seeing everyone. Oldest DSis could not come, but Older DSis and DBIL are back home from being in Texas all winter, and it was so good to see them again. (There are 4 of us girls and obviously I'm one of the middle ones.)
Younger DSis's grandchildren became more and more rambunctious the longer they played together which made her a little anxious, but I reminded her that when we were little kids playing with our cousins, we got loud, too. They were able to put on coats and run around outdoors with their dads for a short while, and that helped.
Mid-afternoon we left DSis's to go visit DMIL at her apartment. We chatted about her plans to move back to her big house. She seemed a tiny bit confused, but she may not have had her hearing aids turned up. Sometimes she is good at pretending she hears more than she does.
Just as we were getting our jackets on to leave, DBIL arrived with his family so we stayed another half hour to chat with them. I could tell DMIL was becoming very tired, though, so we left to give DBIL's family some alone time with her.
My boss asked me to come to work 2 hours earlier than usual this afternoon. The service counter should be extra busy since this will be the first day for patrons to sign up for the Summer Reading Program and start earning tickets to enter for some nice prizes.
