Yes, I am SO grateful this is happening while dh is in town.

I have gone flower shopping with dfriend and gone for a jog. When I got home, dh had showered - and the water was fine. So, I took a quick shower - and it was fine. Dh is now running the dw - and all is fine. The water seeping up our drain seems uncorrelated to the water use in our home. . . We don't know if this is good or bad. Dh cancelled all his meetings today and is staying home to monitor the situation. We want to keep the water from leaving the laundry room - because then we have a huge mess. The pump is small and seems to work, though once it did overheat. .. . Different more heavy duty plumber company will be here between 1 and 4.

I'm having lunch and will aim to start getting ready to go in 15 minutes. If I tell mentee that I really have to go at 3 pm, I think I'll be OK time-wise. We meet at a coffee shop virtually across the street from my school. My class has a quiz today and that plus reviewing their homework, which was basically review exercises for the quiz, will take the first half of the class - or a little more. I will prep a couple more activities. . .

Dd16 just walked in and said the exam was OK. Dd19 is babysitting and ds is off working in the lab.

Wind today took out a couple sm. To med. Sized branches out of trees in our driveway the sm. One and med, one fell next door as I put the branch on the pile. Not really too windy but seeds are weighing down the limbs.

I'm not taking the bus after all; I started chatting with dd16 and am just now finishing lunch.

Wow, Elizabeth. That sounds really bad. No lake here, thanks to dh's efforts.

((Nancy)) and fallen tree limbs. I run faster when I'm angry. There's something about angry energy.

I'm glad Kathryn doesn't have a blood clot either.

OK, I'm off to get ready and then head out the door. I should be home again around 6 pm.

Maybe I'll set up the breadmaker before I go. . .

Maintenance people are shop-vacing the water now. My office door is closed and it is still VERY LOUD! I hope the workers have good hearing protection. I have gotten some stuff done, but it is not easy now.

Hello to everyone!
I'm up and (sort of) at 'em...

Did morning stretching/exercise
Ate breakfast, took vitamins
Talked to ds on phone... one nagging worry checked off my list -- ddil & dgs are safely back home!
Made hotel reservations for football weekend... one nagging worry to add to my list -- surely gbaby #2 won't be 2 weeks early...
Ordered gift for dh's cousin, celebrating arrival of dbaby boy #3!
Browsed around B elk site for new quilt/bedspread for us... gave up...

I really need to call the insurance people AGAIN... and then we have a funeral visitation to go to this evening. Plus need to pack up some stuff in ds's truck for the festival that begins tomorrow.

Sorry Harmony is having trouble w/the internet... I can truly sympathize. Mine keeps losing its connection so I figure it will not be long till we have to Call the Man...

So glad to hear Kathryn does NOT have a blood clot!

Ooohhh... (((Nancy))) Watch out and be careful!

And (((HUGS))) for helia with the water problems...

And (((Elizabeth))) for office problems!

(((RunKitty)))

(((Dee))) -- you sound just like my mother... she is generally waking up about the time I am going to bed. She tells me to just enjoy the fact that I can sleep so much right now, b/c the day will come that I probably will not.
Sooo glad to hear things are going so well for your dsil!

Oh. Good. Grief. I thought I was "safe" b/c I carried phone in pants pocket. I knew the bra was a no-no, but that just never seemed like a convenient place for a phone anyway, so far as I was concerned. Now I've got to keep it out of my pocket, too?

I suspect dh wants the computer and I have more I want to say... another nagging worry, which I guess I will post in J&C.

Otherwise, I shall try to make myself somewhat useful today, as I wander about.
Hope you all have a good day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Unexpectedly home. Mentee didn't show up. I sat in the coffee shop and finished plans for this afternoon. Then, I dropped off my stuff at the school and drove home. I figured 30 - 40 minutes at home was better than 1.5 hours at work with nothing to do.

NEW plumbing verdict: It is suspected to be a city problem. cue audible groan here. . .This makes it MUCH more difficult to fix. The plumber ran a camera through all the plumbing in this house, assuming that includes lines that connect to city pipes, and everything was clear. So. . . when we call the city, we wonder (1) how seriously they'll take our problem and (2) how long it will take them to respond. Dh is pretty cynical about this. In the meantime, we have a little pump. . . .

30 minutes before I leave. I'd like to:
1. wash a small load of jeans
2. start breadmaker for tonight
3. tidy the kitchen.

Home at last.

Exhausted. And sore.

Bikes are ready so dh wants to walk over to get them. I think I'd prefer to wait until after supper but don't know the hours of the business.

Will grab a nap in a moment.

Swim didn't go as well as I hoped. The new facility in a far south subdivision is lovely and the water is warm. The closest handicap parking spot is 125 steps from the door. My parking spot was well over 500 steps away from the door. So I was sore by the time I got to the cash. The change rooms are nice but small and crowded. It is a city pool so lots of people there, including toddlers and babies. The showers are decent but no ledge to put shampoo, etc. on. Nor hook for towel but I have one of those in my bag. Will add shower caddy if we are doing this often.

My friend had us go for lane swim but aquafit was on so it was noisy and only two lanes. I immediately discovered I can't swim due to leg pain. So went to the corner of the larger area where aquafit was on. It took up 1/3 of the open space, I was treading water in a corner under the diving board. Lifeguard came and told me I couldn't be there. I asked where I could be. I was only allowed to do lane swimming. So I told him I couldn't swim because of my knee and that I had no idea when I arrived at the pool this was the case. He told me I could wait another hour. Then I told him he could write me a note and I'd leave and get my $5 back since he couldn't find a corner for me to tread water in. I was 30' away from the class and in an empty 30' x 50' section of the pool, under the watch of three life guards. He finally checked with the instructor who said I could remain.

I treaded until my friend was finished, then we sat in the 'hot' tub area of the kiddy pool and talked.

After I was showered and dried off, I got a text from ds saying he was at IKEA reading so I ran my one errand in that subdivision and then met up with ds.

Lunch was fine. IKEA's artificial plants seemed expensive but then I went to Michaels and now know they aren't. Still it will be about $120 to do what I'd like to do. Which seems excessive.

Picked up placemats, buying a selection and will see what looks best on the table. The library, for a book on hold, was my last errand and I'm home, my bathing suit is rinsed and hung up and most of the purchases put away.

Nap time!

I did one of those too, Kathryn. And in between I've puttered and puttered. Lots of little tasks done that took no time at all but never enough to count as a 'project'. Lots of those around here.

Did clean out our dresser and one drawer of the dressing table. That reminded me that I need to find the power cord to the blood pressure machine that's up home. I was going to throw that one out since we hadn't seen the power pack in well over a year. Well, somehow when I took a bag of cords and power packs for dd to go through a couple of months ago -lo and behold there was one marked Oron. DD looked at me and said, "Uh, is this what you've been looking for, Mom?" But of course now I have no idea where I put (where I could find it -right! :? So will put that on my list of "to-do's". I'm sure I put it in a very sensible place. ;)

How aggravating at the pool, Kathryn. And I am so sorry you're still having so much pain you can't swim. (((HUGS)))

Talked to dmom... (she sounded okay)
Talked to insurance people... (still more wait and see...)
Talked to ds...
DS, DDIL, and DGS came over to get key to dmom's truck (ds is using it this weekend b/c it has the bed cover and we are expecting rain.)

Sooo good to see little dgs. I told him he looked like he had grown 5 years since he'd been gone! He said, "Nooo... 2..." and held up his two fingers. LOL.
Tomorrow is another day.

Aren't they just too cute, LucyLee? I get so much joy and enjoyment from our dgs2. From the pictures I see, he's getting so grown up too. I'm sure I'll see a big change in his growth as well. It will be almost 8 months by the time I see him!! Hate that!

I've been looking all over for the power pack to the blood pressure unit up home. Finally looked (in that sensible spot) in a box of things I've been tossing things in to go home -there it was in the bottom. BUT also found a shopping bag FULL of candy kisses -all kinds. There's 2 bags of regular chocolate ones that we'll let dsonil have when we leave. There were two bags of peppermint stripe ones. DD put those in the freezer as he doesn't like them and this way she'll just eat one. There were 3 or 4 other bags as well. Also had some nice plastic bags from our cruise -found those and we'll pack some of those 200 shirts in them -rather than boxes. We can utilize space better and we can squish them.

Have a bunch of creamer bottles to go north (they're from just the Ne stle brand -both big and small). Dh wanted some for screws, etc in the shop. Found a little hint on P interest about using them for different things (dd has M & M's in a couple). We wash them and take the outside wrapper off. Makes a nice container for things that you would pour. DD wants a few for her RV too. Since we've been making the k-cup coffees, dsonil has decided he really likes the cappuccino and isn't using creamer so we don't go through it as fast.
