Main story with us is that after church we went to dsecondmil's and visited, helped her by taking off her trash and recyclables. She can no longer do that alone but needs someone to either do it or stay with dstepfil. That was a long trip. She was still disappointed when we left "so soon". My throat is sore from talking with her. In a way, we are the same chatty person, though she is more born-organized. I was fascinated by some stories from dstepfil's family I never knew. HRH was concerned because he thought dfirstmil might have been the one more needy today. But I think we did the right thing. Next weekend I know that dd35 will visit dfirstmil.

Kinda discouraged because, since we were away from home so long, yet determined not to have dsecondmil prepare anything for us, we ate fast food. I've been trying so hard to avoid it. Oh well, I was on target for a couple days up to church time and felt well this a.m.

Dd was going to attend a nearby youth group event others begged her to attend, at a mega-church not too far away. But we arrived and realized it was contests instead, like a big company picnic with racing games, etc. Loudspeakers, outdoor podium, and teams forming to compete. She was disappointed and asked me to take her home. I guess that is about as opposite to her personality as could be.

Is it sunday school she is having a meltdown at or the service.
It is neither. DGD3 first big melt-down a few weeks ago was after church when we were just hanging out while waiting for DH to finish counting the money. Her DMom (DD) had just called and talked to DGD3 so I thought the melt-down might have been related to having contact with DD. However, today's meltdown was before church started and no contact with DD. DGD3 wanted a doughnut so I picked up a napkin and got a doughnut and handed it to her.. DGD3 threw a tantrum because I got the doughnut instead of handing the napkin to her so she could get it out of the doughnut box herself. I handed her another napkin so DGD3 could get her own doughnut but she was already in melt-down mode and wouldn't listen. I took her to sit with me in a stall to calm down but she was out of control (screaming) so we exited the building and sat in the car.

I understand this type of behavior from a two year old, but DGD3 will turn 4 next week. DDIL thinks DGD3 has these melt-downs because DD just removes DGD3 and put her in bed (instead of teaching her how to act). I am hopeful that DGD3 will learn that having melt-downs is not productive and how to act correctly. After DGD3 got a good attitude today, we returned to church and she was in a good humor.

Another part of me knows that DGD3 has never had a stable life and she is challenged in constant changing environment. I just hope and pray that she will become emotionally stable.

Kids are eating cereal for dinner. Easy and a treat for them because we rarely eat cereal in the evening.

Harriet - POTB for taking care of senior family members.

Thursday I took DMom to neurologist because her shaking has reached a point she is almost unable to cope. Neurologist is not sure DMom shaking is coming from Parkinsonism. He said the only way to know for sure is to take DMom off her Parkinism meds and see what symptoms the meds are masking. However, he did not recommend doing that now. For now he added a tremour prescription and schedule a couple tests (MRI and EEG). DMom started the med 1/2 strength on Thursday night and was THRILLED yesterday because the shaking had reduced enough for her to swat a fly. She hasn't been able to aim straight in a long time so the ability to hold a swatter and hit what she is aiming at is absolutely THRILLING to her. :D .

Hi everyone!

I was having one of the best, most serene days of my life until the Victoria Day fireworks started up.
There was the display put on by the town that was ongoing and loud, but then someone here at the building just blew up a whole bunch. UGH!

I am not a fan of fireworks either, Cathy. It bugs me that I suspect at least half of what I hear where we live are illegal. No matter what the laws may be in one's state or community, I think they should be doubly obeyed at a time of patriotism or commemorating history. It bugs me to suggest that children should be present or encouraged to celebrate in any way that's against the law. So, anyway, down off my highhorse. Happy Victoria Day to you.

I need HRH to attend an appt with me tomorrow morning and sign some papers. We are having a hard time working the time out because he's got a lot on his plate in the morning. At this point it looks as though we will need to go in two vehicles. Sigh.

10:30! Chime! Bedtime! I hope to be in bed at 10:00 tomorrow night and continue with bettering my habits! Nite.

ToddlerN has meltdowns at the drop of a hat, mostly when hungry, tired, too long outside or thirsty.

Had corn on cob for dinner. H also had left over chili and biscuits & gravy.

Glad I found a watch that fit today.

Today I learned a friend I went to school lost her hubby not sure what happened I worked with him with he was respectful to me and funny a good guy to work with and fixed up cars a mechinic. I liked seeing his cars at car shows he will be missed. I raked up more seeds while I processed that info today.

Looks like I might be the last one in here today.

We went to church today and got stuck talking with a couple friends out in the hot sun afterwards. After lunch we went to the beach a little earlier than usual because storms were predicted. Water felt good.

I cooked a nice dinner out of practically nothing (how do I always seem to come up with something?) and I got garbage out to the curb. Recycling will wait till early tomorrow morning because I took 2 hours last evening cutting up huge cardboard boxes DH brought home. They don't fit inside the rolling bin so he's planning on setting them on top. He says he has maybe 9 more loads of cardboard like that, so a lot of work. He did say he will put a new blade in the utility knife and perhaps it will be easier from now on.

Did a load of suits, beach dress and towels and got them out to dry. I did another LOL and got that hung up as a head start on tomorrow's work. Dishes are all done and house is in good shape. On my way to bed now.
