Good morning and Happy Friday everyone! It is indeed a happy Friday for me, as it is also payday AND I leave for summer vacation tomorrow. Note: I will be MIA for the next 9 days, my phone is not smart and I have no laptop or tablet, so no posting or CUOP. Of course, payday is pretty much spent, because I paid bills last night. There is still about $300 floating on master card, but most is PAID. July has one large annual bill that throws off my usual scheme of paying off cards every month. My new glasses came in, YEAH!!! So much easier for the most part. However, my eyes have gotten so bad that I can no longer read with my distance glasses, it is now essential I swap out. Makes those five minute waits annoying, but not much I can do about it. My eyes are too bad for the laser surgery, even if it was free.

What I got done last night: Girls' Night Out with DD13, writeup for pet sitter, master bath clean, some essential church webwork, and the aforementioned bills.

What I need to do tonight: pick up DD, get gasoline, feed DD at home (spaghetti? cinnamon rolls?), LOLs, pack (not even close to done), disaster recovery of master bedroom, LR cleanup (mostly ok), DD room clean up (mostly ok), clean out the cooler, call friend in vacation town. If there is time, grocery store, if not, we will make time when we are there.

This afternoon, I need to check some activities and see if I need reservations.

I'm hanging out with TwinsMom on the wayside for the declutter challenge. Particularly embarrassing, since I suggested it! However, the trip has higher priority, and I can always work on it when I get back. Much progress has been made.

lucylee: Why don't you add to neighbors' trash cans? With their permission of course! People who live alone like me almost always have room, and it costs us nothing to share our space. If you have a neighbor who has trouble getting around, you can trade taking the can to the curb for adding to the load. I would have jumped on that arrangement in two seconds flat when I had a broken foot!

Good morning, villagers ~
Sorry I've not been posting and have not cuop either. :| It's been another of those weeks when all plans have gone out the window. At least it stopped storming! 8-)

It feels as if all I do is get ready to go to work, work on the run with no breaks, come home from work and try to figure out how many of the 3Ds I can accomplish before I have to go to work again. That includes paid work as well as volunteer work. :P

Today's adventures include a quick run to Sam's this afternoon when I'm in The Big City on another errand -- hoping they will have something good in the frozen foods section for tonight's supper -- and tonight a boring board meeting for the sewing group. Good thing about those is they will get me away from piles of papers!

I just spent a really long time trying to order checks. I originally thought the prices for ordering through our credit union looked really high. However, it turned out they were in line with other sources because other places started with a low basic price and then kept adding fees. Oh well, that's a task I can check off the list and won't have to do again for a couple of years.

My coffee cup is empty, time to switch to water! :)

Can't help but laugh at how I misled poor Harriet this morning. Sorry!

I'm s2s and have done all my exercises. I can do more if I want but if I just want to fall into bed tonight, that will be good too.

Off to bike now. Will go to the less good WM just because 1) it is closer, 2) it is a much nicer ride (along the river almost the whole way) and 3) dh has an errand 3/4 of a mile in the same direction so I'll bike with him to that and then continue on. I have a plan for my lunch as well.

Booksaver, I have noticed that check printing has gone up over the years. I can no longer afford to buy the 3-to-a-page desk set that we used for years for our business. I had to go to the individual ones like we all use.

Lynlee, I too was puzzled about who is WH. I try to follow what you're doing so far away from us. I often wish I had your home organizer person to come work in my garage and our shop.

Really need to do a ton of work around here. This morning I couldn't get my bu__ out of bed, I was so tired. It will take me a couple days to recover from all the hard work I've done this week.

I did bring in the LOL (whites) to fold up and I made coffee and made beds and refilled the water cooler bowls for ice. I need to empty dishwasher, go to 2 banks, get started on all this cleaning around here but I'm really tempted to let it go for at least a day till I'm sure I can get it all done in one day. Plus DH and helper are here welding a new window & frame into the side of his big truck. A lot of truck maintenance got put off while they were working so hard at that big job, now it's time to get caught up.

And I know a bunch of paperwork with DH is hovering close by as there are new plans on the table and he's seen a couple people - one at 6:00 on the morning. I asked if he got the guy up and he said no, he just looked at the wall outside. Never enough time.

Putting on my Carmen hat, slightly askew...

Checking in while eating lunch.
done:
- s2s and self-care
- kitchen tidied; dfriends finished emptying and reloading the dw while I was gone. Yay!
- WW; down. 0.4 lbs. It could have been worse since I had eaten socially 5 times since my last weigh in, including dd17's bday party, July 4th, and going out to a restaurant with a group of 9.
- Tar-jay
- M eijers; Tar jay didn't have everything I needed
- lunch

I didn't get to the TSS, partially b/c I knew our house would be empty right now and I wanted a little reprieve from social activity. And partially b/c I'm tired and didn't want to make the drive to the edge of town. I can go tomorrow.

I am feeling extremely sleepy. It's tempting to lie down. .. . Dd17's appointment is in 1 hour.

Next:
- make bed
- fold and put away load of whites
- take care of items I cleared off my side table last week

Goodness gracious, I'm dozing in my chair. I'm going to have a cup of tea and try for a bit of QT while I'm sitting and quiet.

Back home from the bike ride. It went very well.

I waited outside while dh did his errand so he didn't have to lock up his bike. Then I headed off on my way and 25 minutes later was at the store. I wasn't pushing myself at all because I didn't have a need to do so. It takes at least 12 minutes to drive to the store so biking isn't that much longer (except you have to spend time locking/unlocking the bike.)

WM had the heating pad I wanted so I was in and out in 7 minutes. Back a few blocks to lunch. Due to the biking, I knew I could eat whatever I wanted including the roll!

From there I biked home. I had to go just 100 or so feet on a road and was within 10 feet of my turn onto the bike-path when a car went by very closely. Didn't brush me but spooked me. I was right at the edge of the road, but the driver was hugging the edge because after my turn off, a right-turn lane was beginning and he/she wanted that. I was very lucky. It reinforces my efforts at staying off main roads. And, coming out of lunch I could have biked across a grassy bit to get to the path but decided to ride the 100' along the road. Next time, I'll ride on the grass.

My bike is getting noisier and noisier. The warnings from the tune-up guy are true, it isn't going to last the season (remember, I'm away all of August!) So I'll start shopping for a new one immediately. There are 5 bike stores within walking distance of here but I might opt for a cheap bike so I don't have to worry about it getting stolen. Besides, this expensive bike didn't last (yes, it has been about 12 years but for 8 years of that I physically couldn't ride a bike. And for 2 years that I could ride, I lived in the country and was too scared to bike farther than the church or general store because anything else meant biking on the highway.

AND I did my start the day right routine already:
Exercise
S2S
Breakfast, vitamins
Bible
(Didn't have time to get my water though -- man called)

Last night, also, before bed, I wrapped ddil's bday present and put away laundry that had been hanging to dry.
Tomorrow is another day.

Had a pleasant visit at dsecondmil and dstepfi's house. So glad we went. Just need to be sure we are keeping in contact in case of any needs, even though this seems to be a quiet, stable time for their household. This evening the nurse from hospice will come by. Happy with her care except that she advised dsecondmil to take dstepfil off of the 2,000 IU vitamin D his doctor wants him on. Dsecondmil wants to do what his dr says, so that is something she's confused about and they need to talk.

I'm pleased to have been able to move  individual posts for Harmony from one topic to another (Productive Backyard, which, come to think of it, is actually due for a new thread as well). Doesn't sound like much but it's a tricky bit of housekeeping I've never gotten right before.

It's not worth an accident, Kathryn. You're right to consider taking to the grass at times.

BookSaver, sorry to hear you've been so busy.
