Quiet day so far.

I slept in. The a/c was on since it was so hot and humid outside last night. That meant we could shut the blinds fully in the bedroom, making sleeping in more likely.

Bed was stripped, remade and the sheets washed right away. They are now folded and away in the linen closet.

My A-river order arrived. Ridiculously fast. Can't believe the difference in delivery here vs. the village. It becomes another regular way of shopping for me. In the village, I'd have to wait at least a week and many times in that week I'd be out with the car so doing a WM run or hitting the specialty store wasn't a lot of extra time vs having to wait 'forever'. Here, I walk/bike everywhere so if something isn't available within that short distance or when I have time to bike to WM, then ordering it on A-river seems faster. I ordered that Friday and it arrived Monday morning. And never had to leave home!

I'm s2s so my next challenge is to get the vitamins done. I'm not only doing refilling the family dispenser but also preparing the ones dh needs for his trip and for our trip. This will take about an hour (but I'm prepping 7 weeks of vitamins at once here and have to 'think' about which are needed what days since I'll be using dh's slots in the dispenser while he's away.

For those of you using notebooks instead of something like Evernote, here's an idea that dd forwarded to me this morning (I much prefer pen and paper to electronic note-taking and use them for service brainstorming, plus have one in my purse for random notes.)

Speaking of note books I got mead comp note books @ 50c. Ea. today at w-mart for the rest of the yr. Stocked up on them school supplies or now in Stock here where the 4th of July stuff was. I use em for daily morning page entries. I also get note books and blank journals at yd sales too. One I am using now is spiral bound for my 90 day journal, planning daily, to do's, grats, affs. goals & weely vision, focus ideas thougts and to record successes each week. I put project list in the back of this one. I have a smaller size one fake leather blank book for prayers I enter in it weekly. I have another one not sure what I will put in it yet.

Quiet day here.

Dh and I went to bed too late last night, 12:45. He was watching Captain America with the girls, and I was watching my own TV show. So, I was up late this morning, around 8:25. It's been a slow morning, though I haven't been particularly distracted. Dh and I went for a jog first thing, so that is done, which is good b/c it is supposed to rain later today. I worked more on decluttering my inbox, and in so doing, came across emails re: the 3 children we sponsor in different countries (India, Rwanda, and Brazil). So, I took the time to write each a letter and give each a bday gift, though one likely won't get there on time. I also made a vet appt. for Pepper. Her limping is more pronounced. Wed. a.m. was the soonest they had available. I've also had lunch and chatted a bit with dd19's friend who is here hanging out with her. I think that's it. .. . And it is now 1 pm. I haven't even showered or had my QT. That is next.

Later today, I'll get the menu planning and groc. store run done. I'm also going to clean the guinea pig cage. And I should probably check on laundry. I now have sheets from 3 guest beds to wash.

Here the Morning Dailies are done except for drip-dry. The chauffuer duty is done for the morning, with an errand tacked on to pharmacy 2, to make it more efficient. I have a plan for an errand in a slightly different direction for the afternoon run, too.

Fighting a headache, which I believe is sinus related - a strangely humid and hazy day here.

How that bothers my general diet/health : because I need to take a pain pill, I eat a heavy breakfast. Sigh. Wise in one way, but not "good" for me.

Have located dstepdil's father's obituary online and sent it to dd35 and ds30. We are all going in on a wreath for the funeral home together. Also sent it to dbil. Dstepson is determined that none of us is to try to drive this distance with them. I had in my head it was "only a few hours" away, but turns out it's 3.5 hours away, and I see his point. His mother-in-law is stubborn, however... ... thinking.

Obituaries - yes, Harriet is reminding again, a broken record. When it is within our power, let's be thoughtful about these, and offer a record the deceased would have recognized as respectful to all. It fell to this gentleman's second wife to prepare the obituary - as it should - but she let her own favoritism cloud things, and neglected the respect that should have been given to some family members. Others, like dstepdil and dstepson, are seemingly elevated, but the feelings this really causes them are embarrassment and worry.

Obituaries... as y'all know, I have certainly had my problems with THIS... but thankfully, I have never written an obituary (such as seen recently in the local paper) in which I said the deceased "enjoyed drinking and Alabama football..." For some reason, that just does not seem to be the way to memorialize a person's entire life, you know? Maybe the football part, but is it necessary to mention his love of alcohol? I don't know... maybe it's just me, product of a teetoler-family, Bible belt and all that...

Where is everybody? Oh, out on vacation trips... Lucylee, did you really see that in an obit?

I didn't much feel like getting up and getting going this morning, but after a 7:00AM wake-up to help DH get on his way, reminding him of things he's notorious for forgetting...and saving me an errand trip out by reminding...then I napped for a little. Finally got moving, cleared some things on my desk, got the mail out... then spent an hour getting ready for my errands out.

Errands out were successfully done, 7 stops in all, and only one was a fun one for me (library). But one counter in the kitchen is now cleared of all the returns, and while making the last return I was able to get a few groceries.

Watching the weather, sincerely hoping scattered showers predicted will be over MY house and MY new grass as that will save me over an hour of watering chores.

I need to find some oomph to get going again now that I'm home from my busy time out.

Kathryn, you know I'm using some paper notebooks & tablets! I liked your link, especially the comments where there are lots of good ideas. DH uses composition notebooks constantly for his bid work and when he's working on something important, he folds a page in so it's easier to find. I've actually been looking for a fountain pen for signing cards etc. and haven't been able to find one...don't want to buy really expensive one..

Back up from the basement. I have been in the sewing room. I have 3 of 5 warps wound off did two today, they take up less room this way I will be several projects ahead now yea!

Then gnext I need to get ready for sewing camp in Aug. Just me here but if I call it that I know I have a focus. Got elastic 2day for some projects.

Harmony: Look for a Freecyle or FullCircles group in your area (google Freecycle and your city's name) and join. Then you can ask if anyone has a fountain pen to give away. You aren't looking for a Mont Blanc, just an older pen stuck in the back of someone's desk drawer because they discovered gel pens and like them much better.

I'm almost done the vitamins. It took ages. Had to stop and have a quick lunch and then head out to physio so it didn't really take 4:45 but it did take over 2 hours. I think I have everything in hand now until the first week of September.

Biked to physio and after took the time to adjust a thingy on my bike and may have solved the noisy derailleur for now.

Think I need a nap now. Having trouble keeping my eyes open.
