I was wondering about bird poop, too, Harriet. We have the cobwebs, of course... as dmil told me so... She said that's all the front porch is good for, and we NEVER really use it... but I love the idea of it, LOL...
But in the summer, dh wages a constant battle w/birds. And sometimes, the birds get sort of aggressive and will fly at our heads if we go out there!!! I'm scared of the wasps that build around the lights and the porch swing, so y'all can just imagine how I act if a BIRD flies at my head!!!
Alfred Hitchcock movies in my early childhood scarred me for life.

My porch looks so neat and I know every surface has been swept down with a stiff broom - thanks for being out there with me, everyone - it dawned on me several times I wanted to finish the whole thing to keep up with you.

The only things on our porch are the porch chairs, the porch broom (which I have decided is decorative now!) and dd10's scooter in the corner. If anyone wants to sit on any chair from toddler rocker to adult glider I will not flinch - nothing's dusty.

I hated the bird poop, yes - the babies would learn to fly and be so scared they'd poop along the porch on the way. But this doesn't seem natural, all this spiderwebbyness just everywhere. And as far as time to clean up, this takes A LOT. So I'm thinking - birdies, where are you?

One thing I may go back and do - a detailing of the porch light fixture. And next porch week in warmer weather, we'll consider a wash-down with the hose, maybe dbil's pressure washer.
If you don't believe in miracles, you're not being realistic.

We do not have a "porch" but do have
front steps I did some broom work on
them yesterday after I mowed,
I noticed that the deck & patio need
some attn. also.

Hmmm... final round.
Well... so this is my last chance to get it right this year, huh?
Okay. If at first I didn't succeed, that doesn't mean I can't try, try again.
